Where to stay in Umhlanga
Umhlanga hotels & accommodations

have been allocated at 1 / 2 hotels around umhlanga as a kzn doe employee. have always have a longing to visit the mall one day. the rates for the week-end were comparatively lower than other facilities outside of umhlanga which made me suspecious about the standard of the hotel. it was a pleasant surprise to observe that the hotel is of an even higher standard than I ...

Super friendly staff - from the parking attendants to the front of house staff to the restaurant staff. Well-sized rooms and bathrooms, very clean and comfortable. Rooms have a bar fridge, which is great! The only downer is that the pool area was closed due to storm damage. Conveniently located, close the hub of Umhlanga (restaurants and shops etc) and only a few km fr...

First it took me 20 minutes to get checked in as they could not locate my booking even though I had made arrangements for a late check in. The noise in the early hours of the morning and late at night say 1am was unacceptable and bad for a hotel located in such a precinct, I ended up calling the reception which took 10 minutes before they answered. I am convinced the r...

Second time staying at this hotel, and boy has the standard actually improved! If you’re looking for a no-nonsense, well-priced hotel with all modern amenities in the heart of Umhlanga, this is it! 10 min drive to Gateway Mall, 10 min drive to main beaches in Umhlanga, and easy access to highway. Will definitely be back soon!

really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. it was very convenient walking across the road to have a meal or go to the cinema due to the proximity of gateway umhlanga mall. rooms were functional and comfortable and serviced every day by friendly staff. i would say that the price offered by the price breaker weekend is spot on for what you get. one may expect lots more if ...

Overall a very good experience. Fairview was very flexible in accommodating and refunding us when we reduced our booking from 3 to 2 people. The lady working at Fairview was excellent at what she did! Very friendly and helpful! Breakfast was lovely and the facilities was also good. Maybe a bit pricey for what you get, but all the plus points made up for the price.

Fantastic luxury apartment with a large balcony to sit and take in the sea views whilst enjoying a morning coffee or sundowner. Perfect safe location with beach, restaurants and shops within walking distance. We stayed here for 12 days and wished that it could have been longer, we would definitely stay here on any future visit to Umhlanga. A big thank you to Hermann, M...

The lodge is a hidden unexpected gem in close proximity to malls and highways. The value cannot be beat. The breakfast was incredible each day. The staff was always ready and able to help, whatever your need. A quick walk to the best restaurants in the area or the beach. I will never stay anywhere else when visiting Durban. We are now lifelong guests of Sandals.

The location is good for one side: is close to Gateway and Umhlanga is a great area. In the other side, is extremely noisy. Cars passing by with loud sound during night and day. The manager was really nice in giving us a second night in another B&B - La Loggia B&B - a nice and quite house, for the same rate.

My stay at the lodge was mostly very pleasant. My mom and I booked a family room with twin beds. How anyone else could have comfortably fitted is beyond me as the sofa bed for the kids is pretty much the only only other surface for luggage (2 people from 2 different locations means 2 bags and only 1 bag stand). It's pretty small for a family, or I am just person who va...

Absolutely awsome! We were greeted by a very friendly Felicity. Both her and the staff at the establishment took care of our every need.We actually felt at home. The room and food was fantastic. Will definitely book this hotel on our next visit to KZN and certainly recommend to all our friends and family

Stayed one night during off season in june at Chartwell Guesthouse. No comments on their friendly staff but we were a bit disappointed about the room. Chartwell provides luxurious suites and we thought we booked a standard suite. The standard suite however turned out to be the 'budget suite' as mentioned on their own website. One should read about this before booking. ...

The B&B management went out of their way on a daily basis to accommodate our dietary needs (Halaal food). The staff is very friendly and helpful. The place is in the best location close to Shopping malls, Umhlanga beach, Umhlanga Netcare hospital etc.

Unpleasant during checked-in. Booked 3 rooms in 1 reservation for 6 guests and expected all 6 Guests to be given rooms in the same building. However, the Operator owns 3 Houses, all within Umhlanga and the 6 Guests were all separated to 3 Houses. The owner was not helpful and the houses were not of walking distance with luggages in mind. We had to use our airport taxi...

Clean, comfy, convenient location, nice firm king bed and great pillows; big bath tub , shower, and lots of hot water & flow. Great breakfast: fresh squeezed orange juice, fresh cut fruit bowl, yoghurt so, and then the full English breakfast with eggs any style, bacon, sausage, mushrooms! But it best of all, wonderful hostsgin breaky

I was very happy to be there. Modern pkace, and really clean too. Claire, the host is super friendly and accommodating to one's needs. Which is important when one is away from home. She went all out to cater to my special dietary needs for breakfast too. But everything is generally readily available and the location is ideal if one prefers a quiet place. Highly reco...

We loved our stay at the Honey Pot. Owners and staff were very friendly. Rooms were clean and cosy. Breakfast was very good 3 star standard. Table settings presented with love. Didn't have to share a communal breakfast table as with some B&B's (I appreciate this as my hubby and I sometimes find this a bit awkward), but if you prefer to chat to other guests you can...

Such a beautifully decorated and clean villa! The house itself is gorgeous and the rooms are lovely. I had a good nights rest on a very comfortable bed! This apartment seems to be very newly renovated . Very well finished large and bright . I needed a good rest after the Amashova cycle rae. This venue was perfect and first class .Self catering made it even better .Very comfortable beds . Beautiful bathroom and I must say probably the best holiday room I have stayed in . Strongly recommended !

We stayed there during our tour of Kwa Zulu Natal. We wanted somewhere safe near , but not in, Durban. We spotted this hotel on Agoda and it seemed to fit, so we booked it. Would stay here again. I am usually a fussy guest and am particular about cleanliness. The apartment was well maintained and serviced daily. Found it a bit too small for 2 young kids but adequate given we only stayed 2 nights. Only problem was that an entire panel of the shower door was missing - would have rated higher if not for this.

We stayed at D3 Sea Lodge for weekend with a group of friends. The apartment is lovely, modern, clean, well set up, just like the photos show. Can sleep up to six people. Would stay again! ...

Because it was already late I called my friend to rescue me by...

My sisters and I had a great time. It is an absolutely amazing establishment. The view of the ocean was great and it is close to many amenities. We particularly loved the full equipped kitchen where you have the liberty to make great meals not to mention braai's on lazy afternoons, overlooking the beach.
