Beautiful and fun place to stay!”

We had a great time spending a day here - delicious meals, very friendly staff, and excellent indoor / outdoor hot spring facility set in beautiful Kukuan. Our room on 3rd floor was very clean with a dramatic view of hillside. We will love to come back again!

Can be better for the price paid”

Hotel rate is not cheap in this area but I must say that we had a great stay here. The hot spring was great with the scenery around. Relaxing! There was a table tennis table and a small basketball court for the boys to have some fun. We had fun at the claw machines, arcade basketball and even archery. Cheap thrills compared to the price we have to pay back home. Dinner at the hotel was nice. Was apprehensive when most reviewers state that portions were small. However, it was fine for us and in fact we could not finish all of it. Room cleanliness was acceptable. Overall a great stay for us!

Convenient and comfortable”

Proximity to hot spring baths (in-hotel), clean/comfortable rooms, the view

The Uni is clean and attractive inside. The view (right along the river and of the mountains) is stunning from both the room and the hot spring pools. The location is very near the public transpo stops, and the staff are accommodating. There seems to always be someone working who speaks English if you need it. Breakfast leaves something to be desired, but there should be something for everyone to eat. I thought the value for money was excellent!

Nice hot spring resort. Generally clean.”

Resort has an small arcade room with claw machines. They also have air pistols, archery and table tennis for you to play. Need to pay. Table tennis is free. There is a basketball court too. Was worried that this place will be boring for my boys at night but ended up they had fun there! Hot spring outdoor was great with the view. Amazing. Nice. You can get towels from basement for use at the hot spring. Many locals visit this place. I guess I was there during weekday so it was not crowded which makes it great for soaking in the hot spring. Dinner was not bad. Generally most food ok if not too choosy. I would consider them acceptable. But the fish was "silly". We were a group of 6 and the fish was only half a fish. First time being served half a fish. We had a good laugh at the portion. We were too tired to walk but the surrounding has a few good walking trails.

Nice View”

Indoor hot spring facilities were closed during my stay (although I've already got an email notification in advance but still a little bit disappointed as I booked this hotel mainly because of their hot spring facilities), yet outdoor hot spring facilities is good, and massage waterfall is great. I have got a free upgrade to room for four with absolutely nice view facing the river and mountain, so beautiful and relaxing. Windows were quite dirty, seems haven't been daily cleaned up. Breakfast is quite good, I can have a lot of choices as a vegetarian.

Seriously, never been to a hotel that keeps shutting the premises for maintence. ”

KuKuan was known for the hot spring area. Took a 1.5 hr journey taxi from Taichung City all the way to KuKuan Spring. Ended up the resort keep having maintenance. Day 1, outdoor area maintenance. Day 2 indoor maintenance. Was there for 3 days 2 night. Went to Reception to ask why information was not known to us upon booking, Reception only says 不好意思. Ask me to use the other facilities of the hotel. Other than that just says 不好意思. There goes my money for the booking. Seriously, not advisable to book this hotel. Location, price and service is too expensive for this resort. Highly not advisable to book this hotel.

Convenient location with scenic hill and stream beside hotel, 10 mins walking distance to an interesting uphill trail walk that covers 1.6 km and takes approximately 1.5 hour to complete .The building, room and facilities shown look of aged but reasonably maintained. Clean and safe hotel with mostly locals. Breakfast buffet at cafe towards oriental spread and service attitude is marvelous, while the reception shown least friendly attitude. If you are traveling to Gu Guan, you may consider the newly opened Hoshinoya Guguan. The room has private tab to fill and soak in hot spring water if privacy a concern.
