Highly recommended”
We booked a family room and really enjoyed our stay in Unity Hotel, as well as our time in Mandalay. The room was well furnished and had ample amenities. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a nice buffet of local food, toast and cereal. There is an Indian food shop across the street which serves good chapati and sweet tea. Overall, a very enjoyable and memorable stay in Mandalay. Highly recommended.

Absolutely the best value in Mandalay ”
Renovation is a great word when it comes to hotels because you get flawless new rooms for laughable prices. Unity is perfectly located in The Little India district, with the best Pakistani restaurant right across the street. The rooms are new, the bathroom is huge, the staff is helpful and smiling and the price is impossibly good. We stayed at a few hotels in Mandalay and Unity was by far the best value. Highly recommend.

We like the spacious room and location of Unity Hotel. Special thanks to Mr Aung the Front Office Manager who were very attentive to our needs. The staffs were also helpful and polite. We like the set up of family room, it was much better than expected. We will definitely come back to Unity Hotel when we visit Mandalay again.

Great place, would stay again!”
The staff at Unity were so helpful and even let us check in and refresh before our room was ready as we had taken the night bus. They helped us exchange money when banks were closed, book boat tickets, and a private tour. They only had one umbrella on hand for use by their staff but lent it to us when it was raining so we could go out for lunch. Bathroom was clean and shower was separated from toilet. Breakfast is plentiful and varied. Great location near the Palace Moat with taxis/motobikes easy to hire outside and good food and beer stations nearby. My only complaint would be the wifi -- it frequently disconnected and you had to connect and enter password again.

Short walk to Mandalay Palace”
A real decent hotel to check in to after the long ride to town from Mandalay International Airport (damn it's far!) Apparently went through a refurbishment, and if so, good job done. My room on the fifth floor was lovely, everything you'd need for a good stay was there. Walking distance to the famous Mandalay Palace surrounded all four sides by a moat , which is bustling at 6am! Only drawback was an uninspiring breakfast selection and the orange juice that caused a tummy upset. Otherwise a good stay.

A good hotel with great staff centrally located to restaurants”
Staff were awesome and very helpful. The hotel is centrally in mid Mandalay and clos to many restaurants. Although physicall close to the old city and palace it’s a long walk due to having to use the east entrance only. It’s about a 3000 kyat tuk tuk ride. Breakfast was the usual buffet style and was ok but nothing special.

Value for money”
We stayed 1 night in Unity and are pleased with the room and services. Facilities are all good. Dining room for breakfast is a bit small but dishes are fine. Recommend it for value of money.

One of the best budget hotels I’ve stayed in. Top rooms and service, delicious breakfast”
Fantastic hotel with amazing value for money, large clean rooms with great showers and toiletries. Excellent breakfast with a delicious and wide array of local choices. Most of the complaints left by people are probably due to the fact that they were looking for bacon and eggs when all they found was delicious local noodles and veggies dishes. The service was top notch with helpful front desk and bellman in cute bellman uniforms playing the part. Couldn’t really asked for much more for the price!

Exceptional”
I stayed in a twin-room at 5th storey with window. Room is not facing road so it was quiet and clean. However, that room had cigarette/smoke smell. Buffet style breakfast served include rice, noodle, vegetables, bread toast, cornflakes cereal, fruits. Hotel staffs are friendly and helpful. Staffs helped to carry our luggage to 5th floor when lift was under going servicing. The popular F&B they recommended was quite a walk from hotel but the food was delicious. Just to note. I experienced a number of very short power outages during my 2-night stay.

Central location with friendly staff”
Plenty of staff all helpful. Manager can speak good english and keen to help out with activities. Location is in central bustling area with plenty of food options around. Walking distance to the south west corner of the palace. However entrance for tourists is middle of north wall. Was here in September and was pretty hot to walk to northern wall. Room was little tight but bathroom was spacious!

great choice for Mandalay”
I selected the Deluxe room at around $30/night and stayed for 4 nights in room 503. The hotel is well maintained, rooms are very cozy with lovely wood flooring, tight windows and nice bathrooms. Really nothing to complain about. I looked at rooms on all price ranges ad found them all to be acceptable, yet I did not mind the extra expense of their best room. Was worth the additional $8/night. breakfast is typical Myanmar style and at night the Nay cafe across the street is a wonderful place for exceptional chapati and other tasty Indian foods.

Exceptional”
This was a wonderful surprise! We had been backpacking for a month and stayed in plenty of hostels and guesthouses... This is a hotel! The room was nice and clean, the bed was comfortable and pillows were fluffy. The bathroom was huge and the shower was a rain type one with led lights, it felt nice to have a long shower! The staff was very friendly and we even had a welcome drink! The breakfast was nice and you had western options and traditional Myanmar food. Overall it was a great stay and wish we had stayed longer!

The best hotel we stayed at in Myanmar”
The hotel was recently renovated. Digital aircon and disco color shower head were not really necessary but impressive. Water pressure and temperature very good. Bed duvets and linen, also towels best quality. Tea and coffee making facility daily refilled. Very nice view from our 5th floor spacious family room. Most friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was a plentiful buffet, very tasty. Minus: the restaurant is little and gets stuffed at times.

Base for exploring Mandalay”
Pros: Good spread of local breakfast. Clean rooms with good quality mattresses, pillows and towels. Choice of cable tv. Also near to halal eateries. Try the chapati at the Nay Cafe opposite the hotel entrance! Cons: Hot water availability is inconsistent. Soundproofing of the room is not great, so not for light sleepers.

great stay! ”
Stayed here for a night. Was questioning the location as everyone was being dropped off before me but it was perfect. First, the pool is a salt water pool, so nice to not have that chlorine feel after a swim. Beds were firm and clean. Away from the noise and next to an ebike rental that's less than $6 from sunrise to sunset. Staff was exceptional and the breakfast was big. To order waffles. Eggs bacon. Fruit. Spring rolls. Fried rice. Cereal.. Coffee and fresh watermelon juice. Location had a secret. If you drive away from the town and take a left on a road you can get to the older temples much quicker and then make your way back to the hotel via the town and all the other sites.

Pleasantly surprised by hospitality of staff.”
Welcoming staff, bellboys who greeted us from the taxi and helped with our bags. Check-in process was smooth and quick, with welcome drink served upon our arrival. Staff command of English was commendable, abled to recommend us tours, places of conveniences around the area (supermarkets, local eateries, bars albeit being a little far), and ferry ride tickets to our next destination (Bagan). Room was small but sufficient for nightly rest, toilet/bath exceeded expectation in cleanliness, design, water pressure and anti-slip tiles. However, blackouts happen a couple of times during our stay but recovered fast, seemingly a norm in the country, not to hold the hotel at fault. Although a flash light may come in handy. Breakfast included many local foods, not forgetting a simple breakfast (packed proactively without request or additional charges) on the day of departure as we had to leave at 6am to catch the ferry. We were pleasantly surprised by this gesture. Good food across the street.
