Affordable family resort”
Cabana Bay was an excellent option for my family of 5 to be near parks and have enough space for lodging without having to get 2 rooms. Not sure what it is like during non-covid times, but was disappointed that there wasn't regular housekeeping service, leaving you have to call for towels, garbage removal, etc. But the hotel is spacious with nice pools and workout facility. Staff is friendly and overall this was a good value.

Convenient for visiting universal studios”
Huge spacious rooms and great for family. There's also a mini kitchenette with microwave available in the rooms. Nice hot tubs available for use by the pool area. Didn't spend much time in the rooms as was mostly at the Universal Studios. Benefit of staying on property is the 1hr earlier access into Universal studios, available only to hotel guests

Great stay at Cabana Bay, I stayed 6 nights in August in a standard room in the Americana building. I loved the hotel, the gift shop, the lobby, the eating facilities were excellent and loved the pool area. The shuttles were consistent and I really only had to wait once. The only negatives for me were that there are some minor cosmetic things in the rooms that need fixed due to age especially the bathroom areas and the thinness of the walls. I could hear everything going on in the hallways and it seemed like people were screaming, it made it difficult to sleep in with hearing everyone start their days. I ended up downloaded a white noise app and that helped.

I have an infant a young child and a tween. This covered fun for all. I come to this hotel because it’s so close to volcano bay you could walk. City walk is also a walk away. Food right on site and a great selection. The front desk clerk wasn’t very knowledgeable and when asked about their partners (universal studio’s) information they said they “that’s not us, we are run by a different company.” Which I guess I can understand. Arcade attendant was very nice. All in all I would recommend.

Fabulous location and amenities ”
This hotel is great for any family travelling to Universal Studios with its close proximity to Volcano Bay. The pool area is fab and stays open late into the evening. The only downside I found was the price of food on-site was expensive but make sure if staying for a few days or more to buy the unlimited refills package.

A lot going on - in fact a bit chaotic”
Upon arrival we were not impressed. While it's extremely conveniently located, the hotel seemed like a small version of an amusement park. The lines at check in felt like I should have inquired about fast pass before check in. The wait time to check in was in excess of 40 minutes and the information from the attendant in the parking area could have been more informative to avoid our needing to reload our car and drive to our building. The rooms are nice and simple and the seem clean. The staff at the indoor restaurant are lovely, kind and welcoming. The food is good - the chicken fingers are great as well as the roasted 1/2 chicken. The pool areas can be overwhelming if you are with young children. It's also a bit difficult to find a chair because other guests leave their towels and don't return. They should really illuminate the parking exits so guests can read the information in the later hours of the day.

It’s an overall nice hotel and it’s a 5-10 min walk to volcano bay BUT”
Like any of the small “extras” like even inflatable tubes for their TINY lazy river pool is overpriced and a bit annoy. They came to our room to warn us that we were making too much noise and made it a point to advise that this was our first warning… however we only had the TV playing. We just figured they would’ve sound proofed the room properly when it was being built, so that it would cover the room TV’s max volume. I found it very unfair that the guests would be automatically disturbed or blamed for the hotel’s shortcomings. Bowling is extra and so is everything else. When they announce closing time for the pool they just started yelling at everyone to get out. I get that the theme is the 50s but if you’re charging me a pretty penny to stay here nightly then I expect for you to try a little harder at least with the complimentary toiletries, Alberto VO5 & Zest soap are not just very cheap (like the dollar store sells the value size products for $1) it’s really bad quality stuff

The resort staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Our room and the lobby area is very clean. Many of the guests leave trash on walkways and around the pool area. The line at the Bayliner diner is often a long wait. There are only 2 options for dinner. The diner, which is cafeteria style and an order-delivery to the table at the bowling alley. This resort would be more appealing if it had more cleaning staff for the common areas and a sit down service restaurant.

Really long time at check in. Very inefficient. Management needs to invest in technology to improve customer experience. There is no need for guests to wait in line anymore. It is 2022! They have online check-in option but it is only offered to selected customers.

Check in took 1.5 hours. There were 6 staff at counters no explanation. Info on ticketing for parks is sketchy, not coordinated with park info. Very expensive
