At first glance, the visitor's impression of the hotel's location is that this area of Dublin is in need of investment and enhancement. However, don't let that dissuade you from booking! The premises are well-cared for and clean, with a good lift to the upper room levels and a secure car park exclusive to residents. Bedrooms are spacious, very quiet and well-appointed: like the rest of the premises, they look fresh. The dining room is very airy and pleasant. Breakfasts, whether carvery-style or to order, are excellent. Staff, from reception, through waiters and waitresses, to house teams preparing rooms are very friendly and helpful. Yes, the location is a fair walk to the City centre, but buses are frequent and bikes are common throughout Dublin. As a big-city budget choice with personality, you'll not find better value than Uppercross House.
Hi Gordon, Thank you for such a fantastic review. Reading your feedback was a delight and totally made our day. Hoping to welcoming you again at the hotel. Kind regards, Reservations Team
It was the first time we stayed at Uppercross House Hotel and our stay was outstanding! Staff were all very friendly and helpful, rooms were clean, breakfast was amazing - a lot of choice, continental or full Irish. The price was very affordable (€80 a night for a couple including breakfast) and we will definitely come back.
Great staff, good location”
Staff were warm and very helpful. Attached bar was nice and convenient; and food was good. Location was ok. Too far to walk to downtown Dublin, but not a long taxi ride. Rooms are clean, but small. Bathroom is ensuite, but this may be the smallest shower I've encountered in a hotel so far. All-in-all a fair value considering the alternatives.
Hello Roger, Thank you for your feedback. Indeed we are not a city centre hotel. We do have several bus routes (14, 14a, 15, 15a, 15b, 15c, 83, 65, 18, 140) outside our door as well as a taxi stand and a near by Luas (light rail system). We are glad to hear that you did enjoy the hotel itself and our amenities. Warmest regards
Wonderful place. The staff gets 10 stars.”
Super friendly staff, great B&B. We left several days before breakfast service and they went above and beyond to make sure we could get something to eat before we left. They also suggested many things to do and helped us with bus schedules and routes into the city center. I will stay here again if I ever come back to Dublin! Comfortable beds (if you like firm).
Hi Dawnetta, Hope you had a wonderful stay experience here at the hotel. We look forward to hosting you again as you come to Dublin for another wonderful experience. Have a wonderful day :).

Stayed many times here but not for a couple of years : it has had a good upgrade and I would recommend it to anyone.Lovely atmosphere, parking included, good breakfast and onsite pub restaurant, dog friendly, fine for solo travellers. I will always stay here when I’m Dublin.

Friendly staff, nice room, good breakfast, not far from city centre, good bus service and bonus they welcome pets. They even gave our Border Collie a present 🎁.

Good Location, Friendly Staff”
Hotel is in a good location close to Dublin City Centre, the hotel offers complimentary parking which is a bonus, the hotel offers everything you would need for your stay. The only issue I had in this instnace ws that I was provied with a smoking room I had requested a non-smoking room when I was booking, I didn't realise hotels has smoking rooms. In this case the room I was given has the smell of stale smoke, which was a bit unpleasant every time i entered the room for a non-smoker. My advise is to request a non-smoking room at bookeing if you are a non smoker.
Hi an, Thank you for your wonderful review! Looking forward to host you again. Kind Regards, Sakhi A. Reservations Team
A real find”
A real find just outside the city centre offering fantastic value for money. The staff could not have been more welcoming and friendly. The room was clean and well appointed with free wi-fi. Secure off road car parking was greatly appreciated. A very welcoming bar adjoins the hotel with a comfortable outdoor courtyard area for those who need a smoke with their drinks. There is a taxi rank right outside the door where taxis to the city centre were relatively cheap and plentiful. Will certainly be using again.

One night in Dublin”
A fine hotel. We only stayed one night about 25 min walk from city centre/temple bar and 45 min walk to Guinness storehouse. The staff were helpful in explaining public transportation options as well as offering to call us a taxi. Included breakfasts was good and there are several local coffee shops and a grocery store nearby. Would recommend for a short stay in Dublin.
Dear James, It was lovely to host you. We really appreciate that you took out time to write to us and we can't wait to have you back! Good luck with everything. Best wishes from all the staff at the Uppercross :)
Comfy, friendly hotel”
A little way out from the very centre of town (but in no way too far out of town), this is a comfortable and friendly hotel with a large number of rooms. A good priced room, with built-in hairdryer and kettle - but the homely styling all seems to work without seeming to be industrial or uncomfortably sterile. Recommended
Dear Keith It was lovely to host you. Glad to know that you enjoyed your stay and that you took out time to write this positive review for us. We would love to welcome you again. Warm Regards, The staff at The Uppercross
The Uppercross has a comfortable and homey feelibg.

Solo traveler in Ireland”
Tucked away from the city center this is a quiet hotel with all the amenities of town center hotels. The staff is outstanding. Quickly helped me solve the problem of having left he backpack behind at a previous hotel. Also advised best transportation into the city. There are restaurants, pubs and grocery stores within minutes of hotel. Would stay here again!
Hi Margaret, Hope you are doing well. Thank you for writing us a lovey review. We really appreciate it and can't wait to have you back here. Kind regards, Reception
this hotel is ideally situated for the city centre. Buses run frequently from just outside the front door. The staff are very warm and friendly. Housekeeping was excellent. Breakfast set me up for the day.
Dear Guest, We highly appreciate that you took the time out to write this delightful review for us. We look forward to hosting you again. Warm regards, Reservations Team
i can thoroughly recommend this hotel for a budget stay which represents very good value for money. the major plus for me was that it is just round the corner from my sons place which was the main purpose of the visit. in terms of sightseeing the location in rathmines is great in that you can walk ( very easy ) straight into town or catch a bus also very cheap and convenient. for sb nacks/ meals etc rathmines has a great selection of restaurants and cafes plus plently of cafes to stop en route if walking into the city centre. i will certainly be returning to this hotel in future.
Dear Jon, Thank you for this wonderful review. We appreciate your feedback, and we are delighted you enjoyed your stay. We hope to see you again soon.
This hotel is a tardis.. so much bigger then it seems. ”
Staff was very friendly and courteous. The rooms were very comfortable. Restaurant was beautiful and the food was delicious. An amazing find and I would love to have stayed longer.
Hi Brittany It was lovely to host you. Glad to know that you enjoyed your stay. Come back soon! Warm Regards, The staff at The Uppercross
Very basic room, no frills but pleasant staff and atmosphere”
The room wasn't as nice as pictured (i expect you draw the short straw if you're a dog owner) and the breakfast was average but the staff were super friendly and the location was perfect. Also very relaxed about letting us park the car until we were due to catch our ferry back to Holyhead which was much appreciated.
Hi Danica, Thank you for taking the time out to write us a feedback. The room allotted to you was the same as any of the pictures that we advertise online for that room type. We are glad to know that you were please by the hotel staff. Best Wishes, Sakhi

Great hotel in the perfect location”
Could not have asked for a better location for us (taxi stand across the street, bus right on the corner) It was close enough to everything we wanted to do and the staff was fantastic. Great hot water, rooms were nice and roomy with great lighting. Bed was super comfy as was the room temperature. Will definitely stay there again when traveling to Ireland
