It's only a short taxi ride from the airport and a brief walk from the trolley station. This hotel provides a simple and charming stay that won't disappoint.

The hotel was basic and rooms were small but clean and meets the requirements if you were looking to stay outdoors most of the time and not spend it in the room. We were only given one small bottle of water during the 3 night stay and never replenished, that was the only "complain". The front desk service was very friendly, helpful and excellent. I would return again but would need a family room - they don't have one and would be nice to have it. Location was great, nearby all good restaurants and easy to find transportation.
We loved the location of the hotel, the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was semi clean, lots of dust visible on the shallow room divider and the hallways could have been swept better. We liked that there was a water dispenser plus ice machine. We would stay at the Hotel again!!!
For the price, absolutely worth not having the extra frills., especially if you’re not going to stay in your room much. Clean and comfortable enough. Within 20 feet of amazing coffee and restaurants and super easy access to Saturday market.
I used it as a base for sightseeing on my solo trip. I was satisfied. It's not like a front desk at a Japanese hotel, but the friendly staff made my stay comfortable. The transportation was convenient, and the safety was not an issue. It is also close to the trolley station, so returning from a night game at Petco Park around 9:30 PM was fine. I used Seven for shopping, but the atmosphere varies by store, so I opted for one a little further away. That was something to be cautious about.

“Great budget hotel in the heart of Little Italy”
The location really couldn't be better. Parking can be difficult (the hotel does provide parking a few blocks away for $25 a day). I lucked out and the manager gave me a street spot as he was leaving, right near the hotel. I went for the budget room, a double that was the advertised special. The bed was comfortable, the room above the kitchen of the restaurant next door, the window in a narrow alley with not a lot of light. I imagine some of the other rooms are a little nicer but the price was very good, I mostly slept there and that was it. There was no desk in my room, and the work space in the hotel is very limited, but there is a nice coffee shop across the street. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I mentioned the parking spot but everything from an umbrella to local recommendations. Very good staff. The location is right beside the heart of Little Italy. I walked to the theater, the San Diego Civic Theater, in about 15 minutes. Traffic can get a little busy on weekends and they have a nice farmer's market literally on the street beside the hotel. Great experience, I would stay there again.
