We stayed at 5 different hotel during our trip to Japan and this is by far the worse one. It was the most expensive hotel by far and the hotel is not at par compared to others. The staff doesn’t make you feel welcome at all. We paid through Agoda, which should included everything, but they asked us to pay extra tax (the only one out of 5 hotels). They have this big door leading to the main road, but we were asked not to walk through the door, but rather a side door because the main door is only for customer using their restaurant. What??? They didn’t even give us any free water as other hotel. It has an on-sen, but the first day we were there, they didn’t provide ropes for the onset, not until they do the clean up on day 2. We found hair on pillow the first day. And the location is not great as there’s nothing near by.
Good Budget Hotel”
Although it is not next to train station, it is still within walking distance from Nijo Station, and is next to supermarket and drugstore. The room was clean and the public bath was relaxing. The hotel is equipped with coin laundry/dryer to provide extra convenience. The buffet breakfast was alsorefreshing. It was nor my first time at Urban Hotel Nijo Premium and I will stay here if I visit Kyoto in future.
It is about 5 min walk from Nijo station. Next to it are supermarket, drugstore, and some restairants including a ramen shop open late night. Hotel is equipped with coin laundry, public bath, with parking spaces at the back of hotel. Breakfast was good too.
Location is convenient. Staff is friendly”
The room is a bit small but clean and nice. So near the bus stop to go to the tourist places. It is near shops and restaurants too.
Clean and comfortable hotel”
Toilet is very clean and fashion. Bed is comfortable. Have a big supermarket, some local restaurants and a medicine store nearby. Quite convenient. However, many impolite mainland people stay at the hotel, who wear slippers at public bathroom and a bit crowded in the public bathroom. If you dont need the public bathroom, it is a good place to stay.
Decent stay, clean
The room is spacious, clean and new. You got spa in the hotel, which is a good after a busy day travelling outside. The staff are nice. It's convenient that you can buy daily pass from the front desk.
The hotel and service were exceptional. The breakfast offered was a fantastic mix & the spa is great”
It was the best hotel we’ve stayed at in Japan after many trips. Excellent for the price, perfect location and the spa and breakfast were fantastic. Adorable gift shop too! A perfect blend of old & new Japan.
Great location, wonderful customer service, modern facilities”
Location: Located about 5 minutes from Nijo metro, 6 minutes from Nijo JR station and bus stops just a few meters away. Very convenient for getting around Kyoto and seeing all of the major sights. 7/11, a drug store and restaurants are also within a few hundred meters. Service: Staff were incredibly helpful and the front desk spoke great English. They answered any questions we had and made us feel very welcome. We were travelling for an anniversary and were greeted with a homemade card and complimentary breakfast upon our arrival. What a treat! Food: Breakfast had a variety of Western and Japanese food and was a great way to start the day before sightseeing. Facilities: The room wasn't huge, but it was great for 2 people. Everything was spotless and the bathroom had a delightful rain shower head and a toilet with all the fun Japanese buttons. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a quiet area that is still really convenient.
very nice hotel”
The hotel is located near Nijo castle, and a short bus ride from Arashiyama and Kinkakuji (Golden pavilion). The hotel is 5 minutes walk from subway station, 7 minutes from JR station and mall with restaurants are arcade, has laundry machines and very nice staff- although their english wasn't very good. overall its a very good value for the price
Staff very friendly with our kids! They even arranged a bed with chairs for our baby each morning at breakfast/restaurant . They also brought food for our son to help him be patient and to help us. Thanks!!!
Great hotel when on offer ”
A great hotel when on offer. Great Japanese restaurant just a few shops along plus near Sanjo market to buy use kimonos. Nijo is 2 metro stops from Kyoto plus in train line to Arashiyama bamboo forest. If travelling from Osaka to Kyoto worth booking the Nozomi train as only a little more than normal train fare
Too cramped spaces for families...”
The room in itself was disappointing. The place was too small and suited for at most a couple. Definitely not suited for a family of three. Even my small kid was wanting to get out to a better accommodation. Breakfast was decent and staff were generally fine. Overall experience was not premium but would say average.
ใกล้ subway ใกล้ life supermarket ใกล้ JR
Onsen was not too great, but room was lovely and clean.
Clean and comfortable”
We enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is conveniently located next to a large supermarket and train station in a quiet neighborhood near Nijo Castle. The station is just three or four stops from the lively Shijo/Kawaramachi areas, and it's also very easy to reach Arashiyama from there. Our room was small (just par for the course in Japan) but comfortable, spotlessly clean, and equipped with the latest amenities. The only minor gripe I have about our room is that the bathroom door was glass, allowing for zero privacy. For my husband and I this wasn't a problem, but I would definitely think twice before staying here with anyone else! Then again, I don't know, maybe the twin rooms are different. I didn't try the spa while I was there, but the breakfast buffet was quite nice with a large variety of both Japanese and Western-style foods and local Kyoto specialties to enjoy. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, staying here was a lovely experience.
Best in kyoto”
This hotel very clean, comfortable, staff very nice dont think anything again, just book and stay there
Good hotel to stay in Kyoto, near a subway/train station. Great breakfast with a lot of choice. Staff very helpful and nice onsen on 7th floor.
Convenient location to metro and subway
Location good, with a huge supermarket beside, few restaurants around and 10 mins walk to Nijo castle. Room is bigger than expected. The only setback is the glass toilet door which makes uncomfortable while using the toilet.
