Location was OK, Overall a satisfactory stay”
Nearest Fukakusa station was about 7 mins walk, can get a bit crowded because it is near a university and school, closest attraction is Fushimi Inari (about 10-12 mins walk), overall hotel is in a quiet neighbourhood with easy access to convenience store and eatery around (bakery is just beside), room was typically small as expected with standard facilities

Old room that needs refurbishment ”
Staff were friendly and spoke English. Bathroom looked old and worn out, needs a refurbishment. Laundry too expensive. Breakfast too expensive for what you gets. No usb plugs. Internet was awful, my room was too far from the WiFi. Shutters did not shut properly allowing too much light in early am.

Not bad.”
Close to Fukakusa and Fushime Inari, just walk by 5~10 mins. There is a family port across from the hotel, easy to get food or water something. Although guest room is narrow and small, it is still kinda bargain.

Good room, value-for-money”
Upon check in I realised that the hotel used keys. KEYS. That was an interesting start. The room itself could be rather warm with the heater on, but the window could be opened for a spot of fresh air and some natural air conditoning in the winter. The buffet breakfast was decent, no cpmplaints whatsoever. Location-wise it is within a 10 minute walk to at least two stations. The only issue was that at Inari station, it was pretty much always congested thanks to people snapping photos and loitering around the small road between Inari station and Fushimi Inari Taisha. Overall, would book this place again, though I would like to try their bigger rooms.

Nice stay at Urban Hotel Kyoto”
What I love the most from Urban Hotel Kyoto is location. Just 10 minutes walk to Furshimi Inari Taisha, near to Train station (Fukakusa station/Keihan line) and Inari Station (JR Nara Line). The staff also did a good job and friendly, The bakerry shop near by hotel is the best!! They sell cheap bread, cake, etc. Not too far from kyoto station. we can take a bus number 105. The bus stop is next to the hotel.

A little far from city center. We would walk 10 minutes to the JR train station as we had a train pass.

Really small rooms”
We stayed in a number or 'compact' hotels whilst in Japan and generally it was not a problem at this location the rooms were too small for 2 people and cases. The breakfast was basic but good. The male staff at reception seemed unwilling to help and very unhappy when serving breakfast. The female staff were far more helpful and customer focused.
