Very good”
About 10mins walk from Inari station, a bit out of the hustle and bustle of Kyoto. Love the ability to just walk to fushimi Inari super early in the morning to get the ideal pic. Staff are friendly and courteous. Room is good for one. Plenty to eat around the area

Our stay was great for us.”
We are a senior couple (70yrs & 80yrs) we found the location of the hotel, 15 minutes walk from Inari Station (2 stations south of Kyoto Central) very convenient..Beautiful INARI TEMPLE oppisite station.. Easy to go to all places of interst from Kyoto Central... Use Information Centre at Central Station for all your enquiries..They are very helpful and speak English well. Close by to the hotel there are many restaurant & Bars and 7/11 Stores plus Family Mart right opposite. Noodle Bar close by is great The room was sparkling clean. Lovely white bedding and white bath towels. Everything you need in a bathroom plus hairdrier and those amazing push button control western toilet Electric kettle and green tea in room. LAN for lap-top fast and working well... We had a semi-double room..... so be warned.. We are not big people and had one small suitcase and an overnight bag and found it a little cramped but we were there only at night and did not mind... I'm sure the larger rooms are perfect. Staff friendly and some speak English I highly recomment this hotel..We stayed for 7 nights.

Right beside the awesome bakery”
The hotel is situated nearby the bus stop so going out of the hotel is really easy. There is a convenience store right in front the hotel. They have good restaurants nearby. The nearest train station takes about 5 to 10 minutes walk and Fushimi Inari is quite near to the hotel (can take the bus). The hotel room is a bit small but it is quite a norm in Japan. However, it is quite clean, so no complains. I really liked my stay in Kyoto and this hotel added to my good experience. We did not take any breakfast and the staffs were good. All good, no complains. The real highlight would be the bakery right beside. All items are 100 yen (excluding tax). Really amazing pastries and there is this burger, really nice and value for money. Pretty much it fed us for our breakfast and lunch and it's quite filling. A must go to when you stay over here. The location of the hotel is perfect and food is covered so all good. Would really come back here if we come back to Japan. Missing Kyot

5 nights stay”
Had been to Kyoto for a conference. This was my first time in Japan. The hotel was conveniently located with two chief railway stations nearby (950 km). So if you are a tourist, one of the most popular locations in Kyoto, the Fushimi Inari shrine is close by. It's right outside the Inari station. The hotel's at a walking distance from there. There is another station close by--Fukakusa station (you get a direct train to kiyomizu dera temple from here). Service at the hotel was quite good. They also have their own cafe which opens as per the timings. The Danish toast served there is quite good. The staff was really polite and helpful. Overall, I had a very comfortable stay at the hotel.

Pleasant, low cost hotel, close to transport to ce”
I chose this hotel because it is located close to the family home of the people I was visiting. From here it was very easy to find my way to the city and to many of the places of interest in and around Kyoto. The semi-double room I opted for provided the basics and was comfortable enough for a 12 night stay. Several convenience stores in the same block provided the basics I needed such as tea, milk and fruit. It would have been nice if there had been some basic utensils in the room for peeling fruit and eating snacks, but there was just a small cup for tea, and a glass for water. I was in Kyoto at a very hot time of the year, so for most of my stay I had to have the window shut, and the air conditioning on. It would have been nice to be able to see the outside world with the window shut, but the frosted glass prevented that. The staff did their very best to be helpful, but the majority of the staff members I dealt with spoke very little English. I understand that as a traveler it is my responsibility to make myself understood, but this is a hotel that caters to business travelers, and in my opinion the language barrier was an issue. Overall, I rate this hotel well above average. It's clean, comfortable and well positioned. If you are looking for a place to stay but you do not intend to spend too much time in your hotel room, I'm sure you'll find the Urban Hotel meets your needs.

Kyoto with its "Urban" hotel is something special”
kyoto is a unique experience for a foreign tourist, that's why "urban" hotel seems to be a very good deal, whatsoever; there are so many shrines and places to visit in kyoto and around it. i was pleasantly surprised with the way the staff of the hotel handle everything, although their english should (be) improve/d. however the price seems to be bigger than in tokyo for the same services.

Nice stay at Urban Hotel Kyoto”
What I love the most from Urban Hotel Kyoto is location. Just 10 minutes walk to Furshimi Inari Taisha, near to Train station (Fukakusa station/Keihan line) and Inari Station (JR Nara Line). The staff also did a good job and friendly, The bakerry shop near by hotel is the best!! They sell cheap bread, cake, etc. Not too far from kyoto station. we can take a bus number 105. The bus stop is next to the hotel.

Recommended”
Recommended! For this price you get a clean and comfortable room. Yes of course the room is small (typical Japanese hotel rooms) but everything else is good. My room came with a bath tub so its really nice to have warm/hot bath after long day..There’re 3 nearby train stations (Inari, Fukakusa & Fujinomori). The nearest would be the Fujinomori, which is great coz you get to drop by the Aeon mart on the way back.Overall, good value & will choose to stay here again should we visit Kyoto again!

Clean basic hotel”
This is a business type hotel so don't expect anything fancy. The room is small, enough space for a full size bed, a small desk, and a small bathroom. However, the bed was really comfortable, the room very clean, and the room has everything you needed (complimentary tea, tv, kettle, etc.). The location is good too, 10 minutes walking from the Inari JR station (two stations away from Kyoto station), so if you have the JR pass it is very convenient. I'm giving it 4 stars because you can hear water running through pipes at night, but mostly, because of the terrible wifi they offer. It is slow, hard to connect to, and it keeps disconnecting. Very annoying, especially when everywhere in Japan you can find lighting fast internet! Nevertheless, I would stay here again. Good price, location, and comfortable rooms.

Lovely Hotel - very clean”
This was a good place to stay although a little way from Kyoto Station but there is a bus just outside the bakery next door to the hotel which takes you directly to the Station. You can buy a bus day pass from reception - it was about $AUD 4.80 which was good value. The bed was very comfortable and the room was small but that is normal for Japan. Just a warning, a very high step into the bathroom, if you have knee problems. The hotel is not far from the Fashimi Nari temple the most popular temple in Kyoto. there are also a number of restaurants and bars nearby. They had a basic breakfast which was extra. The only negative is the staff had very limited English and it would have been good to have had at least one person with at least basic English, at each shift also tourist brochures were only in Japanese - which would have been helpful if there were some in English. I think that this is a business hotel, mainly for the Japanese, not Western tourists. We would still recommend this hotel. We stayed here mainly because of the low rate and it had good reviews.

Good choice”
I liked my stay in this hotel. It is very clean. To get here get off at Fukakusa station of the Keihan Line exit 2. There's only one way when youre out so just go straight until you see the traffic lights (you dont have to cross). Then go left for about 200m. Once you reach the intersection you will see Ox Creation and and Esso gas station on your left. Hotel is beside that. Across family mart. The room size is enough for me. Bathroom is clean with towels, shampoo and body wash. I woul stay here again next time I visit Kyoto.

Very close to Fushimi Inari Shrine!”
The main reason for choosing this hotel was because it is located very close to Fushimi Inari Shrine, which was what we had come to see. And we also appreciated the low rates from Agoda very much. The rooms we were given are not very big, but they are very clean. We had booked 2 rooms at the same time, and we appreciate that we were given rooms that were next to each other. However, the room window is very big, and there is no safety bars across it. We opened the windows in our rooms, and found that the glass pane can open all the way, and someone could just fall right out of it. It could be very dangerous if a family with small children had stayed in the room, as the window is just at the foot of the bed, and is rather low. Or someone who may have been intoxicated in the room could have also fallen out. This is a safety concern, and the hotel should consider fixing safety bars across the windows to prevent any untoward incidents from happening. Other than that, we have no issues with the room, and the location of the hotel. We did not utilize any services from the hotel, so there will be no comment on that in this review.

cheap, clean, close to city but quiet, nice staff”
Keihan Line is close to resorts. Just two stops to Kyoto Station, the city centre. Next to a university and a small river. Secure and quiet.A nice suburb. You can take keihan line at Fukakusa Station (5mins walk) or go thr it to Inari Station (10mins walk) to take JR. Quite hard to walk upstairs when check-out with luggage. The room is supposed for 2 but it is too small even for 1. May fix some racks to hang washings.More hangers needed. A bit noisy when open the window if I prefer fresh air. Staff very nice and polite. Can communicate in English well. I really like the hotel. I will surely book it again next time and bring my husband. I don't need luxurious ones as I'd experienced them on tours. Highly recommend this budget hotel.

Nice little hotel”
Our trio enjoyed our stay here. It is about 10 minutes walk from the Fushimi Inari Shrine. If you have problems walking, you can walk 5 minutes to the Fukakusa Station (Keihan Main Line) and take the train to the Inari Station which is at the base of the Fushimi Inari Shrine. It was easy to get around to different area of Kyoto using the Keihan Main Line. Also when going back to Kyoto Station to catch the Shinkansen, we took the Keihan Main Line, and transferred to the JR Nara line at Tofukuji Station - really easy transfer. We heard the breakfast was wonderful but we were not impressed. The second morning we chose to pick up pastries from nearby bakeries. There's also a combi across the street. The rooms were clean, and of average size for a Japanese hotel. The staff was helpful, and friendly.

Kyoto stay”
I have stayed at Urban Hotel Kyoto before, and would stay there again. It is a little walk from the JR station, but not a long one. It is close to various restaurants and the Inari shrine. The staff are helpful, and the rooms are clean.

Quiet and clean hotel”
This room is considered spacious compared to other hotels with similar prices. It is located 5 - 6 mins walk from Fukakusa station or you can just take bus 南5 to Kyoto Central. The room is clean and worth the money paid.

The Hotel Urban facilities and service were goo. The Hotel was very clean and well keep. Room was a bit cool for me and informed Front Desk and I guess the adjusted the heat. When turning on the air on switch, coolish air, somturmed off as again I was cool. Breakfast was very nice but a bit expensive $15.00 approx. amounts of serving large selection and tasty. Front Desk Staff efficient and helpful. Location was a bit farther away than I thought butbtgat was lack of knoewlege on my part. Overall very nice experience and enjoyed my 6 Days in Kyoto.
