We stayed at Valero Grand Suites for 11 nights in the Premiere Queen Room. Overall, we didn’t really encounter any major issues during our stay. The staff were generally great, and the lobby was consistently well maintained, which set a good first impression. The building itself feels secure, and day-to-day living there was mostly comfortable. Pros - Great location, very convenient, especially if you’re around Salcedo or Legazpi - Lots of shops and restaurants nearby - Spacious room, which is a big plus for longer stays - Easy to book Grab, never had issues with pickups or drop-offs I also appreciated that every time we arrived via Grab, the doormen would open the door and check with the driver if we left anything behind. Small detail, but very thoughtful and consistent throughout our stay. Cons - Only one charging outlet in the entire room, located on the right bedside table. The left side had none. There is a table by the TV that could easily function as a work desk, but: - No outlet there - No proper office chair They provide a blow dryer, but there is no outlet in the bathroom, so you are expected to blow dry your hair on the bed, which was confusing. - No space or shelf in the shower to place toiletries, which gets inconvenient, especially for longer stays. - No full body mirror, which is inconvenient as well for longer stays. Housekeeping feedback Housekeeping felt inconsistent, and it seemed like there was no clear standard being followed. For most of our stay, housekeeping was honestly below minimum expectations. They would: - Make the bed - Change towels if needed - Clean the floor But that was it. The room was not actually reset. Examples: - A candy wrapper left on the table would still be there when we got back, unless it was inside the trash bin - Used glasses left on the table were not washed or returned - Used towels left on a chair stayed there, unfolded - Chairs were not put back in place So when we returned, the room looked almost exactly the same, just with the bed made. One time, the bathrobe ties were left on the floor after cleaning. Another time, after they changed the sheets, the mattress topper had shifted a few inches downward, making it uncomfortable for the neck. I had to leave a note asking them to fix it, which also made me realize they likely changed the sheets without properly adjusting the topper in the first place. At first, I genuinely wondered if I was just expecting too much and if this was the norm for the hotel. Then we got a different housekeeper one day, and she did what you would normally expect at a hotel: - Washed and returned used glasses and even replaced the coasters - Folded and neatly reset all towels in the bathroom - Put the chair back in its proper place - Fully reset the room She even wrote back on the note I had left days prior. The housekeeper who fixed the topper earlier did not leave any note or acknowledgment. Overall While we did not encounter any major problems, the accumulation of inconveniences, - only one power outlet in the room - no shower storage - inconsistent housekeeping - no full body mirror makes it hard to justify booking again, especially since there are many other accommodations in the same area that offer better room functionality and more reliable service. It is not a bad place to stay, but for the price and location, I personally would not return.
