I can fully recommend Vanda House Resort to anyone looking for best value. The staff were extremely friendly although English was minimal to non-existent. "Mama" does the house-keeping and cooking and looks after all else. The menu is short but the food is tasty and reasonably priced. The rooms are very spacious, clean and modern. The fridge works well, as does the A/C and shower. A small balcony area provides a nice area for games, drinking or eating. The beach is only a few minutes walk, less to a "7-11" and a bar and other eateries. 10 - 15 minute walk from the Lamai Beach nightlife.

We liked staying at Vanda house very much. First booked 5 nights and then more because we wanted to stay samui and Vanda house was so good to us. Room was clean and they cleaned it every day. Room was big, bed was big and every room has little own terrace and balcony. There was good restaurants and other services near. And the lamai beach was near too. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Really recommend forward!

Great hotel, but internet needs to be fixed.”
Everything was great staying at Vanda House. The pool is saltwater, close to the beach and the main part of Lamai is all within walking distance. 7 to 11 across the road was very handy. Staff and Owner were very nice and accommodating for our early check in as well. However what let us down at this hotel was the Internet in our room 302 was very bad and only worked some of the time. It was not reliable for internet. Down in the reception or pool was fine, but the room was not good. I would stay there again as it is good for the price.

Vanda House Resort worth your money. The room are spacious & quite clean for it's standard in term of price. The front desk staff really helpful during our stays over there. The location is just nice to the nearest attraction in Lamai.

Not the right location”
Our booking was made for Vanda house but upon arrival a very sweet girl inforamed us there were 2 locations. We were fine with paying for a taxi but she happily offered to drive us on her motorbike(individually mind you! With our back packs we couldn’t both fit on the bike). So while I can’t speak for Vanda house there sister hotel Lamai Perfect was a fabulous stay!

Amazing beachside resort perfect for families”
Lamai Wanta is an amazing beachside resort on the south end of Koh Samui. PPossessing none of the braying noise of Chaweng beach, Lamai beach is serene and beautiful. The fact that Lamai Wanta is situated on the beach proper should be its main selling point, but there's so much more: Complimentary wi-fi, breakfast included, clean hotel rooms, airconditioning, friendly staff, a good restaurant and reasonable prices mark this hotel as gem of a place. If I come back I will be staying here again for sure.

Good place to stay”
I had a very pleasant five-day stay in Vanda House. The hotel is nice. The rooms are very big and clean. They are simple but have everything needed for a comfortable stay: comfortable king size bed, kelter, large fridge, sofa and satellite tv with 24- movie channels. The rooms also open onto a veranda where one can sit and relax. It faces a nice yard. The beach is just 8 minutes walk and there is a 7/11 with an ATM closeby.The staff is very friendly and smiley. Good value for money!

We stayed at the vanda house for 3 nights and decided to stay longer because it was such a nice place. Balcony area outside your room whi8ch tables and chairs and a wash room at the back of room with sink to wash clothes. Family run business and they we're very friendly. would recommend this hotel to friends and family and anyone looking to book on agoda.

Good value for money”
Our group was four males, who had a room each as cheap price allowed this. We got a lot of bang for our buck, clean spacious room, safe in room and air con, tele as well but that was never switched on as either out at beach or in the many bars. Two trips worth doing, round the island and the ang thong national park with kayaking. Lamai has a lot going for it, nice chill out bars on beach, so good pubs and restaurants, and if you desire it nightclubs and girly bars. We drank mainly in The Outback bar, the Aussie owner is now an adopted Geordie, he was genuinely friendly, getting his round in and taking us round the island. Staff at the hotel were friendly, bar accross the road and little to the right does excellent mojito's and doubles as an art gallery. we would go back to Lamai and use Vanda house as we could not fault it, a little out of the way, but sometimes thats not a bad thing.

Aging but Still a Good Value Overall”
I've been staying at the Vanda House since it opened back in '07. The room furnishing are starting to show their age and the walls could use a fresh coat of paint or two but if you are looking for a large, clean room, there isn't a better deal in Lamai. I kind of wish they would renovate the rooms with nicer decor and charge an extra 250BHT a night. It would be worth it considering the location -- just a short walk across the road to the beach. Also, make sure and request a room towards the back of the guest house as the road noise can be quite loud at night. Overall a solid value -- especially for those looking for a larger room.

Nice clean hotel thats great value for money”
We booked this hotel as it was very cheap compared to others around and the reviews seemed quite good and it lived up to expectations. We cam back to koh samui a week later to catch a flight and stayed here again. If you dont mind walking a shot 10 minutes to the beach then i definately recommend this place. The rooms very very spacious and clean.

Comfortable but staff has poor English”
I think miss Vanda took up a very ambitious project without much of an experience on how to sustain in. Vanda guest house is currently a decent place to stay but there are signs of it deteriorating..like leaky shower, cob webs in corners of the bathroom, noisy beds and gaps in doors. Pros: clean spacious room, soft beds, daily cleaning by house keeping staff, safe in rooms, good aircon and fridge in room, 2 balconies, no smell in the rooms, good wifi in room, quiet, good location-but need a bike as eating areas are not walking distance. Cons: dingy bathrooms, house keeping kept forgetting to keep toilet paper even after being told, we stayed for 5 nights - 3 days the towels were replaced with clean white laundered ones.. But on 4th day we saw horrible yellow stained torn old towels kept in our room that I would not wipe my dog with! ... So i went and got them changed. And it was REPEATED on the 5th day as well! It was pathetic! There were no hooks anywhere in the loo to hang towels, some of the lights didnt work in the room, also my room was on 3rd floor so i had to walk up every time...no lift. For some reason the area under the main staircase is being used as some sort of storage for brooms and buckets and everything u dont need to see when u enter ur hotel. Another thing that is annoying is that no one- not even vanda, speaks english enough so its impossible to make them understand anything. all in all an OK clean budget hotel but I may not stay here again. If your budget is not too tight i would suggest to look elsewhere.

Great Hotel with big spacey rooms, nice location”
i visited this hotel recently with my 4 other friends and we kinda loved it. it is located on lamai beach road at a 2 mins distance from the beach. very close to 7/11 store and massage spa. miss vanda was little moody but i think we were able to deal with that. overall it was a complete "value for money"

Clean Room. Close to beach. Good value.”
Booked hotel and airport transfer. Nobody arrived to pick us up, which was a disappointing start. Vanda was very apologetic upon arrival. From that point forward, she was very helpful and did what she could to please us. Room was clean and spacious. Kids loved the pool. Location very close to Lamai beach. A good value and worth returning to if visiting Lamai again. Tip: small water park is walking distance from hotel. Great diversion for young children.

The room is clean, quiet, very big room and have standard accessory such as television, airconditioner, warm water, refigerator,safe box and small kitchen counter on back side of room. I got the room on base floor, in front of room have small garden. This hotel is operate by owner both of them are very warm, friendly and helpful. This hotel is slight far from beach howver if you rent a bike you are easy to access to Lamai or Chaweng beach and anywhere. Not recommend to rent a car, it is very trouble to parking especially near the beach.

Lovely hotel with simple but elegant rooms, Lovely and quiet, huge room with aircon, a safe and a fridge. Clean and bright room with a balcony at the back and an outside area at the front of the room perfect for chilling out with a cool beer. Few minutes walk to Lamai beach with shops within 1 min walk including a pharmacy and a 7eleven. Very friendly and helpful staff, the in-house laundry service was cheaper than the shop down the street and was ready the next day... We had a great stay there, would highly recommend it if you want something just away from the main strip. Great for couples and would be good for young families too.

Beautiful large resort style room on a budget”
We had a great stay here in Lamai. We didn't expect much for the price we paid. The rooms were large and very clean with good air con. We couldn't believe how nice it was. We were also happy to come home from the beach. I would recommend the stay here to anyone. We were there 5 nits before going to Chaweng beach. We wish we had stayed there and our Chaweng hotel, at the same price was half as nice at best

Superb Hotel”
Have been traveling around Thailand for a few months now and i must say this has been the best hotel i have stayed in so far. The rooms are very big, the staff very friendly and helpful, within easy walking distance to anywhere you need to go, the beach only a cpl of minutes away and a 7/11 just across the road. I would highly recommend this place to any solo travelers, cpls or families. My room was closest to the main road yet was very quite at night, when i am next in Samui i will definitely be staying here again.
