Pan's Place is a great hostel for a couple nights when in Vang Vieng. It is close to everything you need including all the tour agencies. The staff was great...very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is good and you can choose from different things...they also offer lunch and such but didn't try that . Their fruit shakes were nice! The cabanas in the back were cute and comfy...our door was difficult to open though. The bathrooms were clean and the showers got hot and had a good pressure which was great especially after a day of kayaking and tubing! We also booked our minibus to Phonsavan with Pan's.

We came from Luang Prabang when we arrived in Vang Vieng and to our surprise, the van (actually most of them) drop off right in front of Chillao Hostel. We personally chose this hostel because it was affordable and had a pool. What was a bit surprising however was that the pool was actually on the first floor, inside the gate. So swimming there actually is seen from the outside. Hahaha! The hostel was typical although I could personally say that it can make use of more tidying up as the kitchen is a bit exposed when you walk into the area for rooms. I guess the whole area is also undergoing construction because there were much debris of construction stuff and unfinished stairs/cement around. Getting around was easy because they also offered a lot of services for tourist activities. We in fact booked our van to Vientiane from them. Also, their staff are almost all foreigners too and speak English really well. Overall, it was a good place to stay in especially if you plan to party.

I had two nights in Vang Vieng and selpt in this cozy and budget hostel. It is just outside from downtown but within walk distance. The front desk staff was very friendly and helped me a lot. The private room was also clean. The breakfast was also good. And I could make a reservation to have one-day tour in this hostel. Next time if I visit Vang Vieng I want to stay this hostel.

Suberb hostel in Vang Vieng with swimming pool and an awesome atmosphere all around the hostel. Staff very Friendly and helpful, manager Pikachu is the best take to everyone stay . The public area around the pool is great and has something going on all the time, and it's wonderful place to book your tours and activities and meet people. Free Vodka & Whiskey served from 7-9pm, you can really enjoy this hostel even if you're not there to party. Would 100% recommend to everyone.

I loved my stay at Sengkeo. It was so peaceful, clean, quiet away from all the noise and backpackers. I stayed like week. Free bananas and coffee in the morning. The shower was great and the fan was amazing. Beautiful little spot. The roosters are loud, but they warn you. The owners were nice and you can walk to all the fun places in minutes. The only thing that was unenjoyable was that the last night some guy smashed in his door and broke the water line. Then he tried to smash others door down and scared everyone. The owner was amazing and tried to handle it in the best way possible for the customer even though he destroyed his property. Loved this place and the owner. Definitely would go back!

Getting a private room is really a difficult and expensive thing to do in laos. But this guesthouse really dope! I got a double bed room with a price less than 15 dollars for two nights and it is really nice. Worth the money paid. Besides, they have a restaurant beside and worth give it a try. Guests from the guesthouse are also given free drinks during their breakfast. Owners are friendly although not much English spoken. But they are willing to help you! Awesome! Definitely recommend to those who wanted to have some privacy and cheap stay in Vang Vieng!

I stayed in Vang Vieng for 2 nights at Molina Bungalows. They are located on a road away from the water and where most of the action is, but I liked that. It was less noisy in that area, and was still very close. When I first arrived, no one was at receptions, only an older woman was sitting nearby and was distressed that I was there. She called for some neighboring vendors to help as she couldn't speak any English. They tried calling owner, and couldn't get in touch with her, but she pulled in a few minutes later. She checked me in, and brought me to my room. In order to turn on the electric in the room, you have to insert your key into a slot, which was fine for me, but if you want to charge something while you're out, you won't be able to. Everything seemed clean enough. The pillow though was very hard and a bit high so trying to sleep was uncomfortable. On top of that, the construction of the bungalows isn't the best. You can see slits of light from outside through small spaces in the wall, floor, and near the doors. Along with this, there is some sort of large yard right door that you can see out your window with chickens and roosters. They start crowing very early, I heard them around 3am. There also were some very loud cats that I heard both nights, which may have been fighting or mating. I don't know, but the sounds very easily reverberated throughout the bungalow. If you don't mind the noise, I guess it was fine, but not my favorite place that I've stayed for sure.

my husband and i really enjoyed staying at khamphone guesthouse. this guesthouse is off the main roads, on a quieter street, with a nice view of the surrounding landscape. it is a short walk (5 minutes) to nearby bike rental and trip booking shops, and to the main restaurant streets. they offer inexpensive laundry services and free coffee/tea before 10am. we found the staff to be friendly and relaxed, and the guesthouse was clean and well-maintained. we found the guesthouse location to be quite quiet, but another couple that we spoke to found it to be noisy at night. if noises like occasional passing cars or people talking bothers you at night, then you might request a room that doesn't have windows facing the street. overall we were very satisfied with our stay, if we go back to vang vieng we'd book there again.

Has all necessary in room facilities and clean. Building is like a chinese built hotel sometime ago meaning using lots of wood and rather empty. No restaurant in hotel and only one within 5 minutes walking area. Because it faces the main road the rooms facing that side pick up the traffic noise. On the night i stayed an adjacent temple was broadcasting the prayer throughout the night and was also noisy. Its about 2 km from Vang Vieng tourist area and not many sonteo passes so you may want your own transportation.

We booked via Agoda for 4 nights hoping to have a reasonably pleasant stay however this was not the case. The room and bathroom were not clean nor in working order. The air con barely gave out a breeze and leaked most nights. The second night resulted in us staying at their sister hotel Malany Hotel as the power went out in the majority of Vang Vieng. When the power eventually came on, the power to the 3rd (our floor) & 4th floor didn't work. The night supervisor did not speak English so it was difficult to relay our disappointment, hence the move of hotel. The 2 daytime receptionists were very friendly and helpful with booking tours and buses. I would not recommend this hotel to a friend as I would not want them to endure what we had to.

We unfortunately booked with another hotel in Vang Vieng first that was absolutely horrible. We ended up leaving the night we got there at 1am due to the hotel being disgusting. We walked to this hotel and had to wake up a staff member to check if they had a spare room. THIS PLACE IS FANTASTIC! The staff were so friendly and helpful, they had one room left at this time and we were able to move into it straight away. The rooms were beautifully clean and in the morning we were able to see the beautiful scenery around this hotel. We decided we would book another night here and I made a mistake booking the wrong night. When we went to the check in the staff informed us we had booked for the wrong night but they were very helpful and changed the days for us with no extra cost. The hotel is beautiful but the staff are what makes this hotel worth staying! 10/10 would recommend

This hotel is owned by a lovely couple, and their food is the best around Vang Vieng. Food may be slightly pricer, but they have the best food in Vang Vieng. We almost had all our meals while staying in the hotel. Location is away from the rowdy crowd, and quiet enough for proper night rest. We booked our hot air balloon trip for this lovely couple, and they went all out to ensure that we make it for the trip, despite the operators telling us that we are unable to go for the hot air balloon ride. Despite other places are offering cheaper bus tickets, we still book ours from them, and true enough, the bus ride was comfy. Hotel room is veryyyy clean. The only downside is the internet access, which i believe is the same as other hotels in Vang Vieng, hence, do not fault them on this. You have to stay here when you're in Vang Vieng.

We stayed at the Vang Vieng Boutique Hotel for a week at the end of October, initially it was only for 5 days but we extended our time because we liked the area so much. Nani who is the lady who manages the hotel was the best host we’ve had during our travels through Asia. She made our stay so much more enjoyable and helped us with many things such as booking tours or activities, recommending restaurants and she even helped us plan for Vietnam which is the next country we’ll visit. The hotel itself is located in the Main Street and we choose a balcony room on the top floor which had great mountain views. The rooms and hotel very kept very clean despite Vang Vieng being a very dusty place and the breakfasts were a combination of something of your choice cooked i.e. pancakes, scrambled eggs etc plus toast, cereal, fruits etc. Vang Vieng itself isn’t that great a place but where it excels is the location. The countryside and mountains, lagoons etc are fantastic.

I booked a deluxe double room in the hotel, paying more than the rate for a room in their Guest House. When i checked in i was taken to the room and thought it quite average for the cost. It wasnt until i went back downstairs that i realised i was in the Guest House. When i queried the desk they said yes they had double booked. I asked why they hadnt said anything and not told the truth. They immediately offered my a discount, but just sick of the sneaky attitude of some places who try whatever they can get away with. I talked with other guests who had booked in the Hotel but were also put in the GH so a bit of a common scam.

Spent my nights in this guesthouse and have not one bad word to say. Facilities worked out for me and anything you have to know around/about Vang Vieng you can ask from staff. They sell all bus/train/plane/tour -tickets and you can rent bike or motorbike. They have restaurant where you can get easy foods and buy drinks. Wi-fi not the fastest ones, but manageable. At the time so many people staying and using the web same time (still could do the skype call decent) Good local restaurants near and theres only couple minutes walk to centre action.

Throughout our stay since our first step in till our last step out, the owner has been impossibly kind and welcoming us with his trademark smiles. Despite making my bus bookings and tour around Vang Vieng always so last minute, he always did his best to help me make the bookings - calling his numerous contacts. (not a very trusting person, i always check the industry rates while walking around and is always happily consoled that I got a good deal from my own conveniently booked guesthouse owner). The room was comfortable for a guesthouse, clean and basic with everything you necessarily need. I absolutely love the veranda located amidst the guesthouse as it looks so pretty throughout the day. Wifi in the guesthouse also happens to be the strongest no matter where I have been. Really hope to come back one day!

Pro: Located at the centre of Vang Vieng city. Easy access to food and pub. Con: The property should update their telephone number. There are too many properties with "Mountain View". Our driver couldn't locate the property and charged us an extra 50 THB per head. He called to the number provided in the booking confirmation email but the person who picked up the phone couldn't tell the location. The phone number on the property's signboard was a different number. The property's owners were Vietnamese. The lady was nice but the man was not very friendly. We enquired on the rental of motorcycle. The lady told us that a half-day rent was 40k LAK but the next day, the man charged us 50k instead, eventhough we mentioned that the lady offered us 50k a day ago.

Some things about this place, no tuk-tuk driver knew where it was. Make sure you have the number to call and get directions or you can tell them it's at the "Jungle Party." Which is the next issue, if you like to party then this place will be good for when they have the party, since the guesthouse is in the same place as the party which is once a week. The location is outside of city center though. The staff was decent, the facility was ok. To conclude, I would not stay again, simply for location reasons. If you are coming to party then this place will be good for the night that they have the party. If you are trying to stay away from the party night life, then do not book here.
