Loved it!”
Excuse me for gushing, but I really enjoyed my stay at Eco Lodge. To be just a minute's walk from enjoying the river without all the tourist trappings and club music was a joy. The Lodge's restaurant looks onto the river where local people gather in low numbers, mostly in the early evening, to wash themselves, their clothes, and the kids. There is the occasional kayak. When you really want a piece of the river for yourself just drift downstream a little. The mountain views are stunning. Everything worked in the cabin, which is completely wooden but clean. The proprietress catered to my vegan diet with some of the tastiest food I have had in a while. Wifi is strong at the 'lobby' and was functional in the cabin. Eco Lodge is 7 km straight from Vang Vieng. There is a sign posted on the road about 1km after a local swimming spot/bridge. Best money I spent in Laos.

Comfy lodge close to nature”
We booked one of the premium rooms directly facing the river. Fabulous view of the Song river in front of the porch with the steep mountains on the other side. Comfortable and clean room. Friendly staff and owner who speaks English. The rustic lodge restaurant serves delicious “home-made” Asian dishes, both lunch and dinner. Solid breakfast. This is the place to stay if you want to be close nature while in Vang Vieng and don’t mind driving to the center. If you’re going for the local party scene you’re better off staying in the dusty downtown. The lodge is located a 15-20 scooter drive on the main road from there. Recommended for a calm stay and for nature-lovers!

Quiet place with friendly staff”
We knew we wanted a place away from the party crowd of Vang Vieng Center, especially since it was Lao New Year. We got exactly what we were looking for, at a fair price and with friendly service. After a relaxing swim in the adjacent river (careful however about the rocks under the surface), we had a good night's rest in one of the - what appeared to be - older bungalows. These seemed a bit basic and the mosquito frame needs replacement, but for the price it was fine.

New Years Stay”
We stayed over the new years holiday and the owner and staff were very helpful. The location is great - a few kilometers north of Vang Vieng, making it quiet and peaceful. Great views, especially in the morning. Bungalows are nice but nothing too fancy. Bathroom could use an upgrade. But the place is cozy overall. Would stay again.

Beautiful sourroundings, but remote location”
This place is really nice, but keep in mind that this is 6 km north of Vang Vieng. You will have to rent a scooter (which is cheap in Vang Vieng). The road leading to the ecolodge is the main road, which means terrible condition (we blew a tyre) and lots of traffic. At night it gets pretty creepy and dark as hell. There is nothing else around, but nature and the river. We spent 4 days there and the atmosphere is really nice, and relaxing, people are extremely friendly and the food is really good, even though slightly overpriced. Bungalow are really nice and confortable, the air is fresh and the breaksfast is ok, but after that we decided to book few more night in Vang Vieng to see the city.

Nice bungalows in front of the river and mountains”
very quiet place and nice view of the river and mountains around. a bit far from vang vieng but at least it is away of the crowd and not noisy. the staff is smiling and competent and can organize your travel (bus booking, phone calls for booking hotels, etc.). no internet available. bikes rental possible. we staid an extra night.

Riverfront secluded stay in the midst of nature”
7kms north of Vang Vieng town centre. If you want to stay away from the backpacker tourist bunch, the location is ideal. Very quite and serene atmosphere. We hired a motorbike for commute, otherwise you need to rely on tuktuks. The hotel was once a great place, but now is not maintained properly, there is no proper welcoming to the place, so we didnt know what to expect re breakfast, dinner or tours offered etc. the hotel staff does not speak much English. The bungalows has the greatest view, but very simple. No fridge, no kettle etc. the fly screen need a fix. Re the name "eco lodge", dont expect too much, but a stay in a facility by the river and under the trees

nice mountain and river view can see from room”
we booked for one night but we stayed three more nights. We hired the motorbike from VangVeng city center and it is just 6 kilometers from vanveng city center. you need to have your own transportation is the best to go this resort. Nice breakfast, you can order lunch or dinner for good price. Friendly staff. Nice view of mountain and river from the room. we will surely go again if we come in vangveng next time.

A room with a view.needing better management ”
This was our fourth stay at the VanvVieng Eco lodge in 2 years, and I am sad to say we have noticed a deterioration in the quality of service and maintenance of the hotel. The staff is nice but in lack of proper training, and obvious repairs have not been done (the broken mosquito net door was expected to hold with a scotch tape, the light in our friend's bathroom couldn't be switched of for lack of a switch button, etc). It's really sad because this is a very nice place, providing one enjoys quiet, and/or has a car to drive to town for meals (as the kitchen is very limited)

A great out of the way place to relax”
Very relaxing, enjoyed being out of town. Best to hire a motor bike to get in and out of town as it is about 7 km and the tuk tuks want to charge too much. We hired kayaks and went down the river to town this was fantastic, check the lady on reception for this as u definitely get the best deal from them rather than in town. The bungalows were very cute, and the Resturant nice enough. Breakfast which was included was great. Staying on the river watch & talking with all the local children was really nice too.

Nothing of an eco lodge except maybe the location.”
Our reservation had not been accounted for and our 2 rooms were not available when we arrived. The local lady seemed lost and not know how to deal with this. Fortunately, the manager seemed more pro-active. After trying to find us rooms in an other hotel in town, we settled for staying at their basic rooms. Definitely not what we were expecting but they were honest to refund the price difference. We're still trying to figure out why they call themselves "eco" lodge as we didn't find anything to support that claim.

Restful, out of town option”
Stunning views of the river and karst mountain backdrop, and local villagers coming to wash their clothes/bikes/themselves. Very relaxing location out of town. Breakfast and dinners were lovely, and the staff went out of their way to do anything we needed. It's a little way out of town, you need to allow 50,000 for a tuktuk one way. But you can hire a motorbike in town for 80,000 a day.

The mountain river view was stunning.”
It's highly recommended if you hire a motorbike on the day you arrive as it's quite far from the city. The room was in excellent condition and the river mountain view was stunning.

Great value for money. Clean. Far from central.”
Place was lovely, they messed up our booking and gave us a twin room. It's farther from the center of town than we were expecting, so not a cheap tuk-tuk back. But the owner was helpful and would drive us in if he was available. Internet was down at the time, which made things difficult needing to book the rest of our trip.

far from city center”
As a solo traveler it was in an isolated area about 15 minute drive to the city center. the hotel is located around a small village with restaurants being far away and definitely not within short walking distance. The Restaurant at the hotel sometimes closes early as the lady who prepares the food sometimes leaves around 6pm which caused me to have to get a ride to the center to go to a restaurant. The charge for a ride is 25 000 Kip two ways. The room itself was nice and clean except that since it was rainy season sometimes the small geckos would slip into the room. Guessing this might be common in Laos especially during rainy season. The staff courteously helped me change my room. Overall if you're looking to be away from the center and a little isolated it's a great place but not for someone looking to be walking distance and near the scene

It's a great view here, but far from bus station”
It's a good one, but I think that this hotel is a bit far from bus station and the problem is the location in the map is totally incorrect. but I like it's here, the staffs make me want to come back there again and I will definitely.
