The staff at Amari Vang Vieng were amazing and made my short getaway really easy. They helped me to book a tuk tuk service for my exploration while I was busy settling into the room. The tuk tuk service was also excellent and reasonably priced. The staff at the front desk, Pern, gave me advice on the local attractions given my limited time available. Most importantly, when my pick-up service was late, Pern offered to call them twice to make sure they were still on their way. I really admire the amazing service provided...will definitely book Amari for my next trip to Vang Vieng

We had a beyond fantastic stay in the resort. Resort staffs were extremely friendly and always with a smile. They were even sweet enough to wish my boyfriend happy birthday and even baked him a birthday cake and sang him birthday song! We were totally surprised, in the most delighted way of course. I would rate the service 12 out of 10! The hotel itself offers breathtaking panoramic view of Vang Vieng riverfront. We just sat in the garden and enjoyed the view. Simple yet magical moment. The room is spacious and beautiful with high ceiling. The bathroom has got everything you could ask for. We had very pleasant stay here! Thank you so much Riverside Boutique Resort!

From the minivan station along the main road through Vang Vieng it is an easy walk to Silver Naga so don't pay for a songtaew! Just walk one block back in the direction you arrived and head towards the river. We were upgraded to a huge suite room by the smiley man at reception. We were originally booked for 2 nights but we really enjoyed Silver Naga so extended our stay by one night and we were only charged the price of our original room to stay another night in the uograde suite. Nice! Our room was huge with a king bed and big single as well as a lounge, desk and big bathroom. Our view was overlooking the river and mountains. The pool is fantastic! The buffet breakfast was awesome and the staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful with tour booking and information. We had one little hiccup with a meal we ordered to eat in our room but it was rectified later in the day. We went for a long boat ride up the river and a hot air balloon ride at sunrise (a must do!) Vang Vieng is quite a run down, dirty town but such a pretty location with huge potential. From our research it seems the town is on the improve though after years of being abused by backpackers (there are still a lot around).

I read most reviews about the hotel before I departed. All claims the hotel has spectacular view. But I was wondering how come not many people booked. And some people claims the music is too loud from the restaurant next door. Well, the view is exactly what they said. Love it. Love the mountain and the river. It is the best location in Vang Vieng. Like what they said, you can get off from the "tubing" at the hotel door step. The problematic music is not from the hotel restaurant but from the resort "the other side of the river". ( really annoying, spoiled the clam and relax atmosphere.) The hotel room is common. Clean enough. No fridge.

This is one of the pricier places in Vang Vieng and the reason is 100% because of the amazing views. The location is across a wooden bridge on the much quieter side of the river so if you are in Vang Vieng to simply relax and enjoy nature, you can't do much better than this place. The bungalows are as clean and comfortable as possible for being in the middle of a jungle. You are surrounded by small farms with chickens and cows, banana trees and rice paddies. Breakfast is very tasty and a good sized portion. The staff are also very helpful and speak pretty good English. Definitely recommend.

We are very happy about our stay at the Vilayvong Hotel. Unfortunately we booked the room just for one night, we would like to stay longer, cause the view from our balcony was amazing. I think there is no better place. We were able to see the wonderful mountains with their amazing rainforrest, also the river with its wooden bridge. Even our guestroom and the bathroom were clean. With the huge window and the view out of the bed upon the Mountains it was hard to stand up. ;) If I will come back to Vang Vieng, I will book this Hotel especially Guestroom 402!

while the rooms are adequate, they are consumite with the standard of things in vang vieng. cleanliness could not be faulted (spotless)they beds comfortable and position position. all the balcony rooms, have simply the best, unimpeded views in vang vieng. the staff are four and a half star, courteous, well trained and quick to deliver service, always with a smile. all key staff speak excellent english. the attached riverside restaurant, decked over the bank, serves a variety of lao, thai and european dishes. all well cooked and delivered fresh and promptly. complimentary breakfast is once again fresh and refreshed often. juices tea and coffee in cups or large mugs. for coffee lovers, the lao coffee is a delight, every other coffee you have for the next five days will taste like plain water, yet it is not overpowering on the pallet. it is teh standout for me in laos so far.

The service and help from management and staff at this resort was outstanding, we were really made to feel welcome here. The location is perfect for a quiet escape from the more touristy places in Laos. The resort was quiet when we arrived and the management arranged transport and a pickup for us. Rooms had a great view over the lake, would recommend the cruise with bbq lunch on the island - very tranquil. Restaurant is very good, big servings, left full every time. There are free bicycles if you want to head into town for supplies and a free shuttle into Vang Vieng in the mornings.

The resort-like hotel is the most beautiful hotel we saw in Vang Vieng. Absolutely gorgeous ground and wonderful view of the river and mountains from the pool area and restaurant. Eating at the restaurant in the evening time is a good experience, eating while watching the sunset over the river and mountains. Pool is very clean and beautiful. Rooms are OK. Bathroom is overly huge. I wish they made the rooms larger by sacrificying the size of the bathroom. Breakfast was more than decent. The only cons (which is also pros) would be the location. It is quite far from the action but still in walking distance. All in all, this hotel is a very lovely hotel that makes my Vang Vieng experience perfect.

We stayed in a hut y the river, was great to hang in the hammocks and take in the views. Very chilled atmosphere and frienly staff. was away from the noise and crazy antics in vang vieng but 5 mins walk to all the bars and retsurants. would highly recommend this place, we wish we were there for longer. Mosquito nets were provided but this time of year were not a problem. fantastic bus organised trips to luang prabang, vip mimi bus, had space for the long journey.

Beautiful clean and well appointed rooms with fresh linen, mosquito nets, full room service in wonderfully kept lush grounds. At south end of town giving it semi secluded feel but only 5 min walk to "centre" which is becoming dominated by concrete riverfront hotels (under construction). Location is actually adjacent to long boat landing (for trips up river) and the all-season wooden bridge crossing for trips out to karsts/caves. So is very well located. Plenty of eating, bike/massage/restaurant services near by. Hotel restaurant itself is a highlight being positioned much further "out" into Nam Som than all other restaurants and food/buffet very good. Sublime morning breakfast views. Finally, staff are superb - the English speaking manager and manageress could not have been more professional, attentive, honest or helpful. Highly recommended for Vang Vieng in a market that is quickly transitioning from Western backpacker to East Asian group bookings.

Staying in a wooden hut in a field is not the same as staying in a hut on the beach like you do on the Thai islands. Although the hut was clean we felt that we were dirty. If you are looking to really experience the chilled out part of Vang Vieng its lovely as it's close enough to the centre (just over a bridge) but far enough away to feel remote then its great. If you are looking for somewhere nice to relax you can find a guesthouse in the centre.

The 5 Star VV guesthouse for couples, families, and singles seeking peace and quiet in a town known for its late night rowdiness. Seumsamay and his family hit all the right notes for a relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings. No one tries harder to please every guest. Seum has honed his English skills and can even greet his Korean guests in Korean :) Here are the high points... + Breakfast included and served on the Sala attached to the building. The evolving menu is cooked to order. Eggs done right... 5 different ways with real butter and fresh, warm baguette. Muesli from Germany. Fresh, local fruit with yogurt. Enjoying a garden view mingling with other guests from Europe, Asia, and beyond. + Clean, basic guesthouse rooms. Larger than most Vang Vieng GH with big bathrooms & great hot water. New beds with soft top mattress and good pillows. No TV, thank goodness, as it would ruin the peace and quiet all their guests love. + Family rooms available with extra beds for the kids. Jammee is a sweet mix of privacy and quiet in your room, and a home-stay experience when you walk to the attached open air Sala. + Groups of women traveling together seemed to really love Jammee. Safety, cleanliness. peaceful, and only a few minutes from the action and restaurants Jammee is on it's way to the top of the GH ratings for Vang Vieng. It's a great price and excellent value for all types of travelers except perhaps partiers. I'm told real organic coffee for breakfast is on the way. Location: You can walk anywhere in the main town area in 10 min or less. Jammee is on the south side, on the way to the caves exursions. Getting There: The northern bus station which is quite a hike. Take a tuk-tuk. You'll thank me. All the drivers know Jammee. Booking: The only negative thing I heard from guests was... "Oh geezze! I wish I had booked a longer stay."

As there are bungalows we weren't sure who and what we will find upon arrival. It turned out there was a 24h reception of friendly staff. The bungalow itself was clean and spacious. There is self-service coffee/ tea available and hot water, toilets are clean and even have hot water. The camp is located in the nicer (at least to our liking) side of town, with a direct access to a lovely walking path to one of the hills. For all travel essentials the town center is only 5 min walk over a pretty bridge, yet you're far away not to disturb the views not the atmosphere. According to us, the place to stay in Vang Vieng.

the room was a little bit pricey for a guesthouse in vang vieng, but you get what you pay for. for per night i got a private double room with an amazing riverfront view, fan, aircon and ensuite bathroom, all of which was clean and everything worked. the room had large windows on two sides and a balcony that overlooked the river. also a great breakfast is included in the price. i definitely recommend this guesthouse.

I booked this hotel because most of the other good hotels were either full or too expensive. The Riverside Boutique Hotel was twice the price of my last trip so was out this time, while a reviewer claimed that the Inthira was noisy due to a nearby bar, so I chose this place. What a bad decision that would turn out to be. First impressions were a chaotic hotel with poor management, full of bored looking Korean tourists sitting on the chairs in the "lobby" with kids running around, people slamming doors every minute, tourists making noise splashing around in the pool despite continuous, heavy rain outside. And it didn't end in the evening, because some crazy couple decided to go swimming at 2 or 3am in the middle of the night!! laughing and not giving a damn about other guests. The advertised wifi did not work, while the TV, with mostly Thai channels (this was OK as I am fluent in Thai) and a couple of English language channels from a Thai cable TV operator (True) had a message come up on the screen that payment should be made within 24 hours or service will be suspended, a further sign of very poor management. I was the only westerner who stayed as a guest on the night we stayed, although the following morning a western father and son driving a Lao car checked in. I should have told them not to. However, the fact almost nobody except Korean tourists and a few Lao from Vientiane stayed at this hotel was little surprise - it was not a pleasant experience. Breakfast was also bad - cold fried rice, two pieces of fruit and some noodle soup. In town you can find places half the price and of far superior quality, not to mention in Thailand. A piece of advice - stay away from this hotel.

I when I arrived I told them I had a reservation and they took me to a nice place on the river front - it looked very nice. That night at 11pm they knocked on my door and told me that they gave me the wrong room and I need to leave for the right room asap as other people had booked my room. The room I got was average but 64000KIP seems expensive for what I got in Vang Vieng.

Vang Vieng Resort is a good distance away from the noise and nightlife of the town, and not too far to walk to town, but it is even better to hire bicycles, which you can't do at the resort. There are not many visitors, it is very very quiet. They own the bridge across to the cave, where there is a also lovely park and some huts. We missed English speaking staff. The staff is not helpfull. Many people at the reception, but it was not clear if they were staff or friends. Beware - the price of the rooms is negotiabel.

The Mountain Riverview Guesthouse lies just a small walk away from the Nam Song River in Vang Vieng. The guesthouse is very spacious with several stories (although no elevator). I was staying in a room on the 3rd floor, and it had a spectacular view of the Nam Song River and the mountains scattered around Vang Vieng. It was relaxing to just sit on the balcony and watch the view. My room was spotless and had nice, white bed sheets and covers. There was a small TV with several cable TV stations, a few of which were in English. The only thing I didn't like about the room was the bathroom, which in typical Asian fashion didn't have a shower curtain, meaning the whole bathroom got soaked when I took a shower. Vang Vieng is tiny, so practically anywhere you stay will be close to the other points of interest. This guesthouse lies just a short walk from where all of the infamous river bars once were (which were all boarded up when I was in Vang Vieng). The guesthouse is a short walk down the road it's located on, so the area is super quiet. Walking from the hotel to all the other hotels and restaurants in the main area took no longer than 3-5 minutes. The guesthouse had free wi-fi while I was there, but I never tried it. It also had internet-connected computers in the lobby, which were good enough for light internet surfing. The only other downside to the guesthouse is the price. $17 per night may sound cheap, but there are countless other hotels, guesthouses, and bungalows all for around $5-10/night. I'd happily stay in the Mountain Riverview Guesthouse if I were to return to Vang Vieng in the future, but I think I'd look around for cheaper accommodation first. All in all, it's a good hotel that will keep you very comfortable during your stay in Vang Vieng. No major complaints here.

We booked for 1 night but ended up staying 4!! This is an awesome guesthouse away from the main area of Vang Vieng yet still only a 5 minute walk. It was low season when we were there so Vang Vieng itself was a bit quiter than what we were expecting. The room is clean and a decent size, and for the price you pay you still awake to a decent view of the mountains each morning, if you have a chance ask for an upstairs room. Air con and hot water worked without any issues. Our room wasn’t cleaned whilst we were there, but we didn’t ask, whenever we needed frsh towels or soap and toilet paper the owner happily obliged so I’m sure if you asked for the room to be cleaned they would do it. The owner of the guesthouse is really nice, just lets you come and go as you please and the café that is part of the guesthouse makes really good food as well. We would definitely stay here if we returned to Vang Vieng, and will be recommending this place to all people travelling on a budget.
