A great hostel when you are looking for clean facilities, good location, friendly staff and meeting other backpackers. Specifically nice as this is one of the hostels (if not the only one yet) that is open after reopening the country. The staff is there to help you planning a day trip or transport. 10/10 I recommend this hostel!

I had a change of plans and had to reschedule a bus ticket, plane ticket, get my laundry and apply for a visa to Vietnam. The staff helped me with all of the above while being super busy with having a free whisky night.

It's quite good, but during my trip in SAE I was in many places with much better "value for money". There is no chance to get even a little bit intimacy here - no courtains in bed, room always full of people, a lot of people in hall. If You like crowdy, loud places where You can meet people, and comfort is last thing you need - its ok. Still: Its not expensive, and its located quite close to center of vang vieng. I found better place in city but this - its not bad.

Was told by multiple people not to do washing here because they lose it which was super inconvenient because I really needed to do washing. There are no keys for the rooms so anyone can walk in. The aircon is turned on and off whenever they like, for example it wasn't turned on until about 9:30 and was then turned off 7am. The staff were friendly... If you could find them.

If you want a social hostel and don’t mind small dorm rooms then there isn’t much wrong with this place. Bathrooms were pretty clean considering how many people were using them. Just a bit too busy for me :)

They put me in a room with more beds than the one I paid for. It was a 10 bunk room and it was filthy and stank! The sheets weren’t clean either. I had to upgrade to a private room. The toilet made noises like some kind of monster all night. No sleep here!

Amazing hostel in Vang Vieng”
I would totally recommend to anyone coming to Vang Vieng, to stay at Rock Hostel. Super clean, super nice facilities and super friendly and helpful staff. It's in a great location, really close to the main part of the town. They can also help you with anything you need (Busses, tubing and all of that stuff). Perfect for any backpacker.

Great location, great value for money people. helpful staff, delicious breakfast, brilliant local outings on offer and clean comfortable rooms. Wish we could have stayed longer! The staff make this hostel amazing. What ever you need they will help you with. They are so friendly and know everyone on first name basis. The cleaners are also incredible, everything was so clean and comfortable! Best I've stayed at in vang Vieng.

I had a great time at Rock Backpacker Hostel, I ended up extending my stay. It is on the Main Street which makes it super easy to go anywhere! Beds are comfy, staff is friendly, rooms are cleaned daily, as well as the toilets. I definitely recommend!

Brand new hostel with basic facilities. Some mirrors in the bathrooms would be useful. Right in the centre of Van Vieng but away from the noisy bars.

A party hostel for 18-25yos”
The Rock hostel is a party hostel plain and simple. That isn't a bad thing if you are 18-25 or so and want to meet other young backpackers, get drunk, make bad decisions, etc. If that describes you, you'll probably enjoy this place. If you're older, or prefer a "chiller" scene, this isn't the place for you. Every night I found puke in the sinks, people come home at 3-7am after partying and are often loud. People have sex in the bunks (good for them!) but with others in the room (bad for everyone else!). The place is reasonably clean besides the messes made by drunk kids. The staff are very nice but have pretty terrible english compared to other places I've been in Laos. It took a half hour to check in because he was trying to charge me double. He finally realized he was wrong and apologized profusely but it was a bit frustrating considering every person in the hostel speaks english but the owner/main staff person. Overall, if you're looking for a place to party this might be for you.

THIS IS THE BEST HOSTEL EVER. I've stayed at a lot of hostels and this has been by far one of the top. The staff is not only fun but super friendly and nice. It was my last day in Asia and one of the best. If you want to party, stay here, end of story. Thanks for the best time guys! Can't wait to come back!!!!

Michael was a great host very friendly and fun hostel in a great location!! Will definitely be back. We stayed in private rooms which were more than adequate. The atmosphere was great with drinking games and quizzes before heading out.

Decent stay. Friendly staff and a good atmosphere with clean bathrooms and bed sheets. Although the floors were dirty, especially considering you aren't l allowed to wear shoes inside the hostel. Hard to sleep during the day as the a/c is only on between 9pm-9am, plus there was constant maintenance through the day which was very loud. But don't let any of this put you off as it's very good value for money and I would recommend to a friend.

I booked my solo room before going but when I got there, the room I booked was not available thus they convince me to stay in a dormitory for 4 people. I have no choice but to take the offer though I was upset. First time I had this experience!
