Great place for relaxation
Great place for relaxation although lacking of basic supply for a hotel room. I recommend this place if you want serenity. Foods are nice but quite expensive but two persons can share with one meal. One request for the management, please keep the dog leashed cause the dog run towards me and I'm a bit scared. Very dangerous if you have small kids playing around. But I will still come back to this place.

Fast and hassle-free check in. Rooms are actually those depicted in the pictures shown in agoda site. Place is a bit old but it has clean surroundings. Museum is plain and simple one. Restaurant is pirate-inspired. Foams of the chairs may need replacement or at least dry clean. But the food is a 10! We ordered almost everything during our stay breakfast and dinner and all are really tasteful. Worth our money. Everything we ordered met the expectations of our stomach so to speak. They just might consider replacing the mattress of the double bed with a more comfy and thick one please :) hotel and resto staff are corteous, friendly and warm. All in all we had a very pleasant stay.

Comfortable bed but aging hotel in a location that requires your own vehicle basically
First time staying at Vasco's Resort on a Saturday night, as all hotels in Bar Baretto and Baloy Beach were actually booked up. The location is way off from any shops or walking distance food spots, you would actually need a vehicle to come and go. Located along a dirty bay so swimming is definitely not recommended. Room was pretty old but had the antique captain's ship room feel and theme. Water pressure in the shower was nonexistent. And upon checking out, another typical Filipino "corruption" fee.... 100 pesos in cash extra per night, to line the pockets of whoever. Would stay here as the last possible option in Subic if all other hotels are booked. Not a great location plus Bar Baretto hotels (and Baloy) don't have a 100 peso per night corruption charge, which even the receptionist agreed with me was bullshit. Nice way to milk foreigners. Con side of staying here was the bed was quite comfortable so had a decent sleep, plus our room was right across from the dirty bay water.

The family room was big, clean and cozy.
I was a bit surprised that a small aircon can be powerful enough to cool a big room on a hot summer day! It was quiet in the hotel. They had hot and cold shower. One thing thats keeping me from coming back is that they dont offer breakfast together with their rooms. They dont have a pool. Security was a bit relaxed. Their location is the best. Very near to most of the duty free shops and fast food chains.

There's not much activity to be done there. We just stayed there only for our accommodation. We expected that there's a swimming pool at least since we can't swim there on the bay side. We had to go to another beach resort nearby and spend a lot to enjoy swimming. We thought that the museum will be the highlight but it's not, it's not well maintained and not well lit. Food menu is quite pricey.

Value for money satisfied
Spacious rooms, great for big families. We just hoped that more staff would be available and more accomodating. The view was also nice, especially during sunrise.

Above average
The family room is spacious and with enough beds for a family of 5-6. There is also a restaurant inside the hotel although we were not able to try the food. The location of the hotel is about 5-8 min drive from Royal Duty Free and Harbor Point Mall.

Location may be an issue for some
secind time to book at Vasco's. We liked staying at their new wing with seaview. Restaurant food is a bit pricey but was actually real good, I liked their bulalo and crispy pata. Downside is that they do not have room service. but they will allow you to get the food from restaurant (plates and all) if you wish to bring it to your room. it would have been great if they have a dive shop just like in the old days. Hubby had to go to boardwalk and baloy beach to dive. Almost everything is driving distance - mall, boardwalk, restos (other than hotel's) Overall, we had a good stay though. Owner's son is very accommodating.
