Value for money”
I scoured the internet for a last minute trip up North. This was the only place inside SBFZ that was affordable as I didn't want to spend too much since we were just spending the night and going elsewhere in the morning. Sulit! The room was clean with an incredible view of the bay! Food was also great! There were only a few staff per shift so it was understandable that it took time for the food to come out. We would definitely go back.

Authentic hotel and restaurant on the waterfront ”
I stayed at Vascos this weekend and really enjoyed returning to this classic Subic hotel. Very friendly atmosphere with a personal welcome from the owner who explained the history of the hotel. Great location, good food and comfortable rooms. Thanks again Brian, we’ll be back.

Viva Vasco's”
Vasco's was a nice stay, just for the one night. The room was comfortable enough, and we were on the water in a place where a swarm of bats darted to and from at dusk--very entertaining. The restaurant was very good and the friendly owner made the rounds to talk to diners.

Cozy and nice ambiance ”
The ambiance is great with a calm environment. My concerns are - Staff are not friendly. Seems busy all the time. - We pay the extra price for the view of the restaurant. Very small and simple sausage costs 365pesos. I was disappointed with the quality of food.

If You Love Ships”
As I read in the reviews, this quaint & clean hotel is perfect for relaxing after a whole day’s activity in Subic. It is far from the dining places and beach front but they have an acceptable restaurant with a breathtaking view of the bay and the hills. If you love ships both over the sea and under, if you love antiques and treasures of the deep and if you love old stories by the bay, this is the place to chill. Stay away from the owner though, he is no longer friendly to visitors who are excited and curious about the rich history of the place.

Children need to be a bit older as this is a port with deep water but the location is good. ”
Pros it’s quiet and peaceful with good views over Subic bay and port. Cons it’s a port therefore boats are docking but it’s still quiet.

Nice place to stay”
Visiting Subic and did not want to drive back to Manila at night so found this hotel on Agoda. The rooms were pretty basic but no complaints. They have a restaurant/bar onsite that serves average food. Nice view of the bay.

Location may be an issue for some”
secind time to book at Vasco's. We liked staying at their new wing with seaview. Restaurant food is a bit pricey but was actually real good, I liked their bulalo and crispy pata. Downside is that they do not have room service. but they will allow you to get the food from restaurant (plates and all) if you wish to bring it to your room. it would have been great if they have a dive shop just like in the old days. Hubby had to go to boardwalk and baloy beach to dive. Almost everything is driving distance - mall, boardwalk, restos (other than hotel's) Overall, we had a good stay though. Owner's son is very accommodating.

Comfortable bed but aging hotel in a location that requires your own vehicle basically”
First time staying at Vasco's Resort on a Saturday night, as all hotels in Bar Baretto and Baloy Beach were actually booked up. The location is way off from any shops or walking distance food spots, you would actually need a vehicle to come and go. Located along a dirty bay so swimming is definitely not recommended. Room was pretty old but had the antique captain's ship room feel and theme. Water pressure in the shower was nonexistent. And upon checking out, another typical Filipino "corruption" fee.... 100 pesos in cash extra per night, to line the pockets of whoever. Would stay here as the last possible option in Subic if all other hotels are booked. Not a great location plus Bar Baretto hotels (and Baloy) don't have a 100 peso per night corruption charge, which even the receptionist agreed with me was bullshit. Nice way to milk foreigners. Con side of staying here was the bed was quite comfortable so had a decent sleep, plus our room was right across from the dirty bay water.

More than what we expected”
We weren't really looking for some highend hotels. All i wanted was to have breakfast with a seaview...browsing through AGODA at the last minute, i found Vasco Resort. The place was good for relaxing...we had a better room compared to what was shown and of course, we had a great dinner and breakfast with seaview! Just what i wanted. The staff were helpful and accommodating. I will definitely go back

VALUE FOR MONEY”
Fast and hassle-free check in. Rooms are actually those depicted in the pictures shown in agoda site. Place is a bit old but it has clean surroundings. Museum is plain and simple one. Restaurant is pirate-inspired. Foams of the chairs may need replacement or at least dry clean. But the food is a 10! We ordered almost everything during our stay breakfast and dinner and all are really tasteful. Worth our money. Everything we ordered met the expectations of our stomach so to speak. They just might consider replacing the mattress of the double bed with a more comfy and thick one please :) hotel and resto staff are corteous, friendly and warm. All in all we had a very pleasant stay.

Limited choice”
We stayed at this hotel at a time when there were limited choices (holiday season). Location is nearby other points of interest. Staff were not too friendly, quite aloof. Maybe they prefer foreigners who can afford their extravagantly priced menu (hamburger for 300 pesos, etc.). Also, beware of the ETAF (Environment & tourism Administration Fee) which is collected by the hotel 100 pesos per day per room. Might as well stay outside Subic Freeport and go in during the day. What a rip-off.
