More about Vatia Beach Eco Resort

Vatia Beach Eco Resort is a family-run, eco-friendly resort between Ba Town and Tavua in Fiji Islands. Vatia is the only beach within 200km on the northwestern side of Viti Levu. The 150 meters of white sandy beach surrounded by exotic papaya and palm trees make it a beautiful setting to enjoy the sun and sea.

Six traditional beach huts are available to give your skin a rest from the sun and enjoy some fresh fruit or salads with vegetables from our garden. Vatia Beach faces west, meaning that the most beautiful sunset views are guaranteed 365 days a year!

At Vatia Beach Eco Resort, there is an organic vegetable garden providing amazing tasting fruit and vegetables which are of course used for all meals! Part of the recycling program is to actively use composting for natural waste, so they are able to fertilize using some of the principles of permaculture. When you stay with Vatia Beach Eco Resort, you will for sure be able to enjoy green crisp lettuce, beautiful tomatoes, and fresh mangoes and papayas straight from the tree every day!

          Do not book online”

Message from the owner: Do not book online as the account is managed by the old owner. They wont see the booking nor receive the money. Just go straight to the lodge and book on spot. 30FJD for a dorm. The place is a perfect place to plug off. Beach and nice bungalows. Lot of kids running around and not the tidiest place. I loved chilling with the family but if you are looking for more glamorous place to chill and enjoy might not be for you. More of a homestay than a guesthouse. Also no food or drinks sold on site. Family cooked for me a few times but I would advise to take food, drinks and snacks with you :)

Under new Management! Don't book here, call new number: 9525524 instead.”

Under new Management! Don't book here, call new number: 9525524 (Joe). This bookings goes still to the old Management, so call the new number instead for information and bookings. Since end of June 2019 this resort is under new Management. It is very basic atm (Aug.2019), no electricity, WiFi only part times and byo food. They will upgrade soon, but it will take some Fiji time. Good to relax and get off the grid. From the Main road there is a road 3km to the resort. The bus will let you off at the junction, but from there you have to walk 3km. This road is suitable for 2WD as well, a bit bumpy sometimes. The beach is good for swimming at high tide and the environement is suitable for families as well. I went on a short, but adventurous hike with Joe to Vatia Lookout Point, where you can see the surrounding reef at low tide.

          Great place ”

Very nice place in a relaxing area. Beautiful beach with a very nice garden. Great staff really helpful for anything. I put 3 stars for the facilities because you can't recharge your phone or your camera in the room but you can do it at the reception. Unfortunately there is no kitchen like in other resorts where I was in Fiji, but there is a restaurant. I stay 4 nights and was really great time.

          Quiet corner of Fiji”

Just a basic little resort, food is cooked fresh, nice little beach, but a little off the main road if you don't mind a little detour. It's quite secluded there - good chance to get away from it all.

          One night stay”

We stayed one night in the eco-resort which was fine but a little noisy as we were next to the social area. Thankfully we were tired from our early morning flight that day so managed to sleep through. Showers are very basic but the food and breakfast they served were good enough. Nice location next to the beach, would have been nice to stay longer.

          Great budget place!”

This is the place to unplug! The staff is very kind and helpful always wearing the signature Fijian smile! The manager, La, and her husband, Peter are also the chefs. We had many delicious meals! Breakfast is included in price, tropical breakfast. Usually pancakes, or home made buns with butter and jam, fruits and tea or coffee. Lunch and dinner is at extra cost of 10-15 FJD, and is well worth the money. Otherwise if you bring your supplies you can use the kitchen. You can just put yourselves into hands of La's cooking, but bring snacks as of June 2016, there is not much they can provide except, soft drinks, beers, tea or coffee and potato fries. As mentioned, this is a place to unplug. Do nothing, or not much. Play volleyball, kayak (enjoy the handmade paddle me and a new made friend have engineered!), play with the kitten, play cards or read a book. RELAX, be a happy hippy! Btw, cheapest place on the island! ...and loved it! Very relaxed backpacker vibe and met some amazing people...
