amazing rooms, wonderful staff, peaceful setting”
My husband and I spent a holiday weekend at the Vedana Lagoon. We first heard about Vedana when we stayed at their sister resort, Pilgrimage Village in Hue (also a wonderful hotel!) We originally booked a lagoon-view villa but when we arrived late at night (after a bumbling taxi ride) we were whisked via golf cart to an overwater villa. The villa was enormous, with the biggest bed I've ever seen, large windows, a huge bathroom (with a bathtub overlooking the lagoon and an outdoor shower), and a lovely deck with huge comfy chairs. Flatscreen TV, desk, and dining room tables too. Guests are given bicycles to get around as the grounds are quite spread out. The restaurant is airy and the food is excellent. In-villa dining is also available. Nice pool with lounge chairs. Several "relaxing" areas with comfortable chairs and swings to read in. There is also an overwater spa and free morning yoga/tai chi classes on a deck overlooking the lagoon. There are also kayaks that can be borrowed for free and tennis courts/badminton courts. You can watch the fishermen pull in their catch or motor by from your deck. The staff are excellent, helpful, friendly and professional. We took a cooking class with the chef (which included a trip to the local market) and it was a lot of fun. Overall, a wonderful resort!
Fabulous experience, wonderful hotel.”
A simply wonderful relaxing stay at the Vedana Lagoon Resort. We travel widely throughout the Far East every year and it is true to say that we have never experienced such friendly and helpful staff - from the villa host to the waiting staff, from the gardeners to the management - all of whom went out of their way to make our two week stay really enjoyable. The Honeymoon Villa we stayed in was fabulous with its own pool and beautiful views across the Lagoon. It was spotlessly clean and had flowers and a fruit bowl that was refilled every day. The restaurant menu was varied and the food of excellent quality. We loved getting around the resort on the bikes provided and when we needed to be transported on the buggy it arrived in a flash. As we spent our wedding anniversary there we had a fabulous evening with a candle-lit meal in the restaurant surrounded by flowers with a complimentary bottle of fizz. We also had a Vietnamese cookery class which started with the Assistant Manager taking us to the local market in the morning to buy some ingredients and then a cooking lesson from the very talented chef. We decided to spend one night in Hue exploring the local sites and got the free resort shuttle bus into the city. The hotel even sent their car to collect us the next day and the driver decided to come directly to the hotel so we didn’t have to walk to the normal collection point! Unfortunately the weather was not kind to us but that didn’t stop us having a great holiday. If you are looking for somewhere to go to get away from it all, the Vedana Lagoon Resort is perfect.
This resort is not yet fully opened. However, we can fully feel the wonderful experience in there. Especially, lagoon is very huge and beautiful. I was there with my little two daughters and my wife. Children loved small pool in villa house. My wife and I enjoyed adventure of lagoon with kayaking. Even I have experiences for kayak in many places before, Vedana lagoon was the best. When we were floating in the lagoon, our butler and a assistant accompanied with us. Thus also it was very safe. As well, free shuttle service for Hue city tour was also very convenient.
It's a place called HOME”
This is the second time we stayed with Vedana. Everytime I think of Hue, I think of my time with Vedana. I love the Bungalow on the Lagoon, the view is perfect with fresh air, nice decor in room. You can sit by the balcony to enjoy the beauty of sunset, sometimes there is a small boat of local fisherman passes by. All of that creates a very very amazing scenery. Staffs are very friendly and always willing to help. I especially thanks to Mr Manager and Ms Phuong Anh (FO Staff) for all of good treats for my family this time. My parents were very happy and they said they would definitely get back next year. The only cons is it's kinda far from the City Center. However this is not a thing because Vedana Lagoon is a place that worth to stay when you visit Hue.
Amazing Experience ”
Vedana Lagoon is truly spectacular. From the time we were picked up at the airport to the time we were dropped off in Hoi An, we experienced such warm hospitality and anything we requested was done with a smile. From Miwa the Manager to Toan our waiter and the spa girls to the housekeeping team, everyone was amazing. The villas are out of this world and beautiful with a zen like quality, Vedana Lagoon pays a lot of attention to detail and uses nature to enhance the experience. We especially loved the outdoor showers. We were sad to leave Vedana Lagoon but we will definitely keep the memories until our next visit. We will definitely be back. Thank you Miwa and all at Vedana Lagoon for a truly amazing and memorable time.
We like the Vedana Lagoon Wellness Resort because: 1. The staff who worked at the front desk, Horizon Restaurant, right down to the buggy, shuttle bus, limousine drivers and chamber maids were all welcoming, cheerful and willing to go a second mile when the situation called for it. 2. The cooks did an excellent job - the food was pleasing to the palate, and not overly oily, sweet or salty. 3. The views of the misty mountains, calm seas and the wild vegetation were very good for the soul! Some suggestions to improve my third comment - have more landscaping done to the terrain around the villas, so that seasonal plants and flowers can be showcased; check the PH in the lagoon waters (to see if it is polluted, as we tried to feed bread to the lagoon sea creatures but there was no sign of underwater life). If there isn’t any pollution, then have some fishes spawned in those waters.pp
Wonderful stay! Credits to the villa host”
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay in Vedana Lagoon! We were so surprised by the lovely environment the first day we got there, not to mention they responded very quickly to arrange my last minute transfer request with a comfortable car. Then we have Miss Thuy, a very cheerful and thoughtful lady , as our villa host, and introduced us the facilities and guided us a tour to our water villa and inside as well. We were lucky to have stayed at Villa 1, which is the first water villa that have installed windows on the external washroom that prevent someone like me who afraid insect so much for not being able to visit washroom at late night haha. The villa is very new and clean to me, except you might have a few little insects as your flat mate but they are in acceptable standard since we were so close to the nature and water side, but really, remember to keep all the windows and door closed at night or else plenty of them will sleep with you since I can see many of them outside the window at night. However during day time, the condition is much better . And we enjoyed the breakfast and DvD lending service and the free Kayaking and the free shuttle bus to Hue city centre as well. Not only the environment and view made it a good hotel, credits must be given to their staffs, all are very cheerful and willing to help all the time, we have such a pleasant stay there and wish to come back again when all the villa has installed with windows on the washroom, as info given by the prompt email reply of comments given the day we left.
Hidden getaway for being pampered.”
Vedana was a welcome surprise, with a very high level of service for an excellent price. The staff are all very friendly (even the maintenance and cleaning staff!), which is fantastic on top of the intimate surroundings and well-considered architecture. Villas are visible to each other but placed far enough apart for ample privacy. Over-water pavilions are spacious and have generous decks, along with a generous bathroom, all rooms with excellent views. The beds are substantially large. One small point to note: the toilets in the overwater pavilions are outdoors, and while visually protected, they are a bit unusual to access in general, especially in the evening. The food is a bit on the expensive side compared to other places in the country, but this is likely due to the remote location of the resort. The dinner fare is superb, and the breakfast spread balances quality and variety. While there are excursions to nearby Hue and Hoi An, there is only the spa as a central feature at the resort. All in all, this is an excellent place to escape the normal tourist flow at the end of a journey, for a night or two.
I am stunned beyond words”
We got picked up at our previous hotel and to our surprise it was not only a driver but also someone from the hotel staff. We enjoyed a very nice ride to Vedana Lagoon and even visited various places. At our arrival, we got warmly welcomed with a passionfruit drink and formalities were done very quickly, we didn't need to wait long. Then we got introduced to our bungalow which definitely surpassed our expectations. It had two rooms with an interconnecting, private, huge pool with a view to the sea. the interior was very chic and modern. Every bungalow is provided with private bikes so you can bike around the resort - a fantastic idea!! The breakfast buffet was very nice, too, the waiters were friendly and always asked for our well-being and if we need anything else. The food was delicious and mostly home-made. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay at this resort and We will definitely come back!
Breathtaking, Wonderful, Must-Go!”
Our stay was excellent. Vedana Lagoon Resort & Spa was very intimate and private. You have a villa on top of the water all to yourself. I felt like I was on my own island. They provided bicycles for patrons to bike around the area. The pool was nice, the food was excellent, the room was top-notch. The resort and room looked as though it belonged in a movie. Because it is so peaceful and quaint The only downside is it kind of in the middle of nowhere so you have to do a bit of traveling to get there but it is so worth it! The food was great and the service was as well! No complaints. A must go hands-down.
Unforgettable dream holiday! ”
I have stayed at Vedana Lagoon resort in 5 nights from 3/2 to 8/2/14. I have been upgraded to Honey moon Villa with over 200m2 area, including private swimming pool. I have stayed in some 5-star resorts, but this is the first time I am pleased with almost service of the resort. Every morning, we wake up with bird's sound and sun set on the lagoon. Every thing is excellent, except the high price at the restaurant and souvenir shop. I will come back to Vedana Lagoon resort very soon.
Simply put, World Class Resort”
We spent three weeks traveling the length of Vietnam, and the Vedana Lagoon Resort was the best place we stayed by far, and that's saying a lot because we loved all the other places as well. Perfect attentive service, the most beautiful private villa over the lagoon, world class food, amenities and the spa was to die for. And a special treat was taking the bikes out to explore the neighboring countryside. If you are fortunate enough to be able, make your way here and get ready to love it.
Great resort with superb services”
The landscape is very beautiful. The resort lies over 1km along the lagoon, with its back on a tropical forest and the panorama view over the huge lagoon. The infrastructure is too generous for only 30 villas. The infinity-edge pool is big with full view of the lagoon. Staff are very kind and helpful. One of the greatest things about the resort is very delicious breakfast with option of being served at the villa. Resort is located quite far from main cities (40km from Hue and 60 from Da Nang). There is no other option for food (except quite famous local restaurant located 2 km away). The resort is wonderful if you want to have a complete relaxation. Prepare to enjoy your own company at night because there is no night-life activities outside the resort and even at the resort, very few guests come to one of 2 bars at night.
Stunning resort with fabulous service”
An extremely beautiful location and exceptional staff / service. with 5 star luxury as well. Little extras such as free courtesy bus to visit Hue (40km away) and to the nearby beach help to balance the cost of staying at the resort. Spacious resort layout with free bicycles to use around the resort (or golf buggy service if required). Room was large and immaculately clean, with panoramic views over lagoon from the massive bed, bathtub and the balcony. Discreet layout means rooms and balconies are not overlooked. Food and drinks more than double the price I paid elsewhere, however, it was delicious and portions are large. 1.5ltr bottle of local drinking water was 104,000 VND when as little as 10,000 VND elsewhere. Spa service was also expensive, but a great massage tailored to requirements. Overall, a fabulous place with understated pure luxury which I would happily return to.
Fantastic and the most peaceful place I have found”
Our stay at Vedana Lagoon was brilliant. We were slightly concerned after reading some reviews, but need not have been. We went there for peace and relazation after spending time in a few cities in Vietnam and it was perfect for what we needed. We only stayed two nights, but from the tranquil music and being able to sit in the comfortable round chairs on the balcony and only hear an occassional train and the local fishing boats go by, we relaxed instantly from the time we arrived. The food was good an as has been said before, it is resort prices, but still much less that we would spend in a similar resort elsewhere in the world.
Lovely resort, superb views, great service! ”
Stayed there two days ago. Group of 6. We were upgraded to the pool aqua bungalow so our family could be closer together. It was fabulous! There's a private pool between the two villas. The water was refreshing! It was so cool to swim over the lagoon with views of the mountains right before us. There were deck chairs too. My mom fell asleep to the sound of the waves, while my sis got a tan. The water at the lagoon is so clear! We could see the rocks below. Pity there weren't any fish below. We saw some tiny ones near the restaurant. I had intended to kayak but swimming in the private pool was good enough. We could see the fishing boats traveling to and fro the lagoon just in front of us as they fished or went about their own way. We also spotted people kayaking around our villa. The villas are spaced out well. It was like we were in our own paradise. We took a boat tour around the lagoon on a local fishing boat to see the sunset. It was great too. Costs about 840000 vnd for 2 ppl. The orange Vedana scrub had a great scent. Yoga was great at 8am! It rained earlier and stopped in time. It was only my sis and me and we saw a rainbow while we were doing our poses. Great views and a cooling breeze. Wow! I can't wait to be back here again! The food is a tad expensive though, esp since you're pretty much stuck here. It would be great if there were cheaper meal packages. E.g. Full board packages which includes a F&B and spa discount.
We spent 3 weeks in Vietnam and this hotel was a major highlight for us. We stayed in an overwater bungalow, the view of lagoon (not for swimming in) and mountains beyond was breathtaking. It is very isolated situated amongst small fishing villages, so biking around the area was lovely, with children chasing after us on their bikes and wanting to have their photos taken. There is a free shuttle to Hue in the morning so you can sightsee and it returns in the afternoon. We would sit on our balcony every afternoon and wave to the many fishermen in their boats heading out for the evenings fishing trips. The restaurant had high quality food available and the breakfast buffet was incredible, have seen nothing like it before - from fresh made noodle soups, omelets, exotic and international fruits, fresh juices, and the usual western fare, and the pastries were intricate and delicious. It is not a budget accommodation by any means but the price of food and drink in the restaurant still cheaper than Australian prices but not as cheap as eating in local restaurants. I had a 3 hour spa treatment on my last day in the spa (which was also situated in overwater bungalows), which was lovely. Not ideal spot for children (although there were kids there) but it is almost like a retreat. There are tai chi and yoga sessions available to attend in the morning and you can pay for one on one classes. My husband not into spa or fitness so he sat by the pool in the afternoons and enjoyed afew drinks and chatting to the staff. But we both loved it so much here that we will return. We left very refreshed and ready to continue north.
Very relaxing and excellent service”
We are an Australian couple who stayed at Vedana for 7 nights on our honeymoon. We were delighted with our stay and it provided a wonderfully relaxing venue. We stayed in the aqua bungalow for 3 nights and the honeymoon pool villa for 4 nights. Both villas were beautiful, the pool villa was huge. The service provided throughout the week was exceptional, we were provided with a host that we were able to contact at any time during the stay who was more than willing to help with all of our needs. We were provided with bikes to get around the resort which was lovely, although because we stayed during the wet season, we didn't get to use them as much as we would have liked. Golf bugys provided a great alternative in the rain! The buffet breakfast was very extensive and provided a great range of options (hot western, local food, pastries, fresh fruit, fresh juices). There is only one restaurant at the resort which had a nice range of Western and local food however after a few days of the same options we became a little bored with the food. We did love that endless fresh bread was provided with all meals. The food was cheaper than we would pay in Australia however quite a lot more pricey than buying food elsewhere in Vietnam. Fresh fruit was delivered to our room every day. We enjoyed a complimentary head and neck massage at the spa which was lovely and would have been nice to receive more treatments there. We enjoyed the use of the pool table however were not able to use the tennis courts due to rain. Wifi was excellent, we were provided with a DVD player however the resort only had a small collection of western DVD's. The staff were so friendly, kind and accommodating, hard to think of any downsides to our stay. We will be recommending Vedana to our friends and family!
Fantastic resort hotel on a large lagoon”
This is a wonderful hotel in an idyllic location with great rooms, great views and great staff. It's not perfect, a few things are showing signs of age, but perfection would probably cost 3 times as much - Vedana Lagoon offers wonderful value. I stayed in both Aqua and Pool bungalows; on balance I think the pool bungalows are better, as they are set on the hillside, offering great privacy and enhanced views, but there's not much in it. The resort is quite spread out, and so bicycles are the normal means of getting from bungalow to restaurant and bar, although if you're feeling lazy you can summon an electric 'buggy' to transport you. The only real downside is there's nowhere else for miles around to eat or drink (unless you have better Vietnamese than me) so you're forced to eat in the restaurant or have room service, but the food is good, and considering you don't have any other choice, not too expensive. All in all fabulous, and I'm definitely going back.
This place is kind of unique: resort on a lagoon! We stay 2 nights, one night in a villa with swimming pool and one night in a villa on the water Both place were very nice, large and comfortable But the villa on the water is a very nice experience! Our stay was very nice and calm, we felt "outside the world" I recommend it to anyone who wants to relax as you won't find nightclub and jet ski here... Staff is polite and professional Food is nice too, special mention to Vietnamese food very well prepared Riding the bike in the resort is good too! Main pool is good For the complainers about weather and mosquitoes, I don't think Vedana can control them... Well, I love the concept of this beautiful place and will be back as soon as I can! Didn't take the time for a kayak ride in the lagoon, but it should be very nice!
