"We are a young family who have found every hotel until now a total rip off and the American culture the worst on the planet. When we got to Venice beach, opinions were low and expectations were non existent.... However, the prices were fair, location was great, noise level was low and everything was as good as we could have hoped for. Agoda, I stipulated free parking so you still owe me money. Stop hiding charges!!! "

"Check in was a little late being 4pm, advertised as 2pm but upon arrival was 4 which was really annoying as we landed at 6am and they kept telling us to come back and check at 12 then 1 then 2. So we pretty much wasted our day trying to get into this room. Then tried to charge us for leaving our bags after an early check out of course. So check out was at 11 and check in at 4 so 5 hours to clean a room, a bit much don't you think? Other than that was a great stay."

"Good: The hostel staff was nice. Breakfast was fine. waffle maker, 1 hardboiled egg, and banana. Bunk Beds were ok. Locker area in each room was good. Location was just a block from the beach and some bar/lounges so that was nice. Could be improved: I think their check-in system could/needs to be improved and streamlined. They have several systems and have to copy and paste data from one screen to another which gets me a little nervous. Hallways smelled. I know it's near the beach so probably the small areas of carpet just need to be replaced w/ hardwood or tile flooring. Overall still good value at the time. and glad to have been able to spend time at Venice beach there."

"We booked a studio instead of just a room as we wanted more space but was disappointed that the studio was really small. Worse still, it was right next to a big carpark where anyone can look into the room. There were people quarrelling at the carpark while we were moving in and unpacking. It was distressing. The road right behind was also very noisy. There were also so many homeless people around that we felt unsafe going out after 8pm. Staff wasn't exactly helpful. We were 1.5 hours early but could not check in and were told that we would be informed by phone once the room was ready. No one called us and we eventually went back around 5pm.. The ceiling light (which was actually the fan light) wasn't working and we had to rely on a small study light by the bedside in the night. Complaints about the room was not addressed too and no help was given.. We really felt the price we paid was exorbitant. We felt really painful paying so much for such a horrible experience!"

"Stayed at The Kinney for two nights. I liked the location. The room was a good size and I really liked the colourful furnishings. The bed was super comfy and despite my room being in the road side of the hotel the noise wasn't too bad. What was missing was a full length mirror. There was plenty of space for one in the room. Overall a great stay with friendly staff. "
