Beautiful Clean Beach Front Hotel”
The Veranda Lodge is a wonderful weekend get a way if you have a trip to Bangkok planned. It is a quick 2-3 hr drive . There are many hotels along the beach in Hua Hin, but the Veranda Lodge combines good modern rooms, good food, a quiet clean private beach with access to "city" services at the Village Market, Hua Hin's new super mall. We will definitely be returning to the Veranda Lodge. We have been traveling in Thailand for 15 year and know that it is a rare find to have all these services and conditions together in Thailand.
Amazing lodge near Hua Hin”
We took the slightly pricier Villa at the hotel, which came with access to the beach (Takes less than a minute to walk there). The room was clean and beautiful, though filled with mosquitoes when we first entered. The beach itself was good; the hotel provides deck chairs and umbrellas. Nearby you can get massages on the beach, buy some fruits or drinks (either from the hotel or from the paddlers that roam the area). Most of our time was spent sitting down by the deck chairs, enjoying the sea breeze and warm sea waters. The lodge is around 3-4 mins walk from the main road, and the road is serviced by the SongTeow(Akin to a bus which costs 10 Baht per person). The SongTeow will take you to Cicida Night Market or into town center for the HuaHin Night Market. Either way, we were pleasantly surprised and this saved us quite a fair bit instead of taking the TukTuks (Which would have cost 160-180 Baht/trip. If you are cost-conscious, skip the villa and take the normal rooms(which are alot more reasonably priced), as you'll most likely be spending time on the beach or taking the SongTeows to explore Hua Hin. Btw, breakfast is an ala carte buffet; you can order as much sets as you want. The French Toast is good, and I overheard the next table asking for additional bacon on my last breakfast at the hotel. Go for it. The bacon is worth it.
Perfectly Relaxing”
First a thank you to all previous reviewers who helped me make this booking. I really needed a healing rest and my lovely Chalet close to beautiful beach gave just that. Friendly Staff, good breakfast (don't be afraid to ask for extra bacon etc !) and so quiet. Plus the Food Mart and Market Village Mall are just a short walk away. Ask about the green line baht buses too they can save a lot of money but going in to Hua Hin it's easier to get a Tuk Tuk from Hotel. I found Jasmine Massage was good, close to the Food Mart, an essential part of any Thai Holiday for me ! Not sure about 4 star rating but these boutique hotels are hard to judge. Veranda Lodge is lovely, a bit eccentric with it's lay out, and I felt very much at home and will be back !
Very pleasant due to the location.”
The location of this hotel is superb. You are able to walk from your room direct to the beach as the hotel is located at the beach. A plus is that the chairs on the beach are fixed reserved for the room (reserved for too ....). Restaurants are close by at a mall (4 minutes walking from the hotel as well as a small night market where good food is served too. The night market in Hua Hin city is very crowded and the best time to go there is around 17.50 hours to be able to walk. A next visit to Hua Hin is planned for next year and we will stay in then Veranda lodge hotel for sure.
Great little hotel in perfect surrounding ”
We loved our stay at veranda lodge and Hua Hin we were expecting a room on the beach but mix up in booking we had a standard room in hotel but still everything was fantastic here would recommend and will definitely return soon
Beautiful surroundings and located next to beach. ”
Highly recommend the Garden bungalow, there are only seven set in a quite peaceful garden 30 sec walk to the beach. The rooms are individual bungalow style rooms, good size and very clean with a small seating area outside. There are a number of eating places set on the beach itself with both Thai and European food at a good price. There are Tuk tuks a short walk away on the main road that will take you into Hua Hin itself for 100 baht or you can walk (about 20 min). Hua Hin has a large number of restaurants and some excellent sea food restaurants set on small piers that go out into the sea. There are plenty of samll shops and bars and a market too. From the hotel, a 10 min walk takes you to the nearby night market which is open from 6pm most days and 10 min in the opposite direction takes you to a nice shopping mall. I have stayed here twice now and will always go for this as its quiet but close enough to the centre not to be an issue.
Cozy hotel right on most beautiful stretch of (city) beach Hua Hin has to offer”
I was pleasantly surprised that Hua Hin has nice, relatively quiet stretches of beach near the city centre but it does. And this hotel is right on that beach. The room we stayed in the Villa was very new and clean. The bungalows might be a bit older so I recommend the room in the villa. The rooms do not have sea view but you just have to walk a few steps and you are on the beach. Breakfast was nice (right on the beach front). Pool is small but very cozy and not so busy with people. We will come back!
Good loccation and nice restaurant”
What I like in this hotel is the location, it's on the beach, not far from the heart of Hua Hin but also near the shopping village. It's also quiet, atmosphere is fantastic and romantic. hotel's beach is clean. price is super reasonable. The hotel's restaurant is beautiful and romantic. Weak point that we've found is mosquitoes and the quality of the building's construction, you can not sleep in peace in the morning because when some one close their door (event their room is at the end of the corridor) you can hear the noise from them like they shut the door to your ears.Take ear plug if you want to sleep in peace.
First Class. What a fantistic place to stay.”
Staff at the restaurant excellent. Front line staff very professional and showed interest in their residents. Air condition within the lodge was first class. Easy access to beach. The very relaxing atmosphere of the whole complex down to the security staff. If I every return to Hua Hin this is the place I will stay again. Julie
Value for money. Friendly staffs. Great hotel.”
Stay was perfect. The staffs were very willing to help and answer all my queries. The daughter of the owner was always around and very polite and friendly. The free wifi in the room was not bad. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Definitely one of the better hotels i have stay. Will recommend to others that are going to Hua Hin.
Beautiful, quiet hotel right on the beach”
You feel like you're in the country, landscaped gardens, secluded pool. Yet you're right on the best bit of beach in Hua Hin and near excellent small Thai beachside restaurant. Breakfast overlooking the ocean, facilities in room for tea/coffe/light meals if want. 10 min walk to exciting night market. Helpful, efficient, friendly staff.
Small quiet hotel right on the beach”
We had a pleasant stay at Veranda lodge in Hua Hin in one of the garden bungalows. Room is big and comfortable. A very short motorbike ride to the night market, the two big shopping centres, and many other attractions in Hua Hin area. Breakfast is average.
Nice hotel and service with a smile ”
when you arrive at veranda lodge, don't be disappointed! indeed, it is rather old and at first sight it doesn't look very nice. i admit we didn't unpack immediately because we didn't think we would be staying. since we were tired and din't have an alternative on the spot, we decide to stay a day or two and look around for another hotel. but we stayed at veranda lodge - the rooms are spacious, the restaurant on the beach is very nice and good and the service is excellent. not only "we stayed", we stayed another week!
Homy hotel on the beach near city centre”
Small hotel in a dead end street: 200 m from the avenue, from there 100 m to 7-Eleven, or 250 m to the Market Village Shopping Center, or 1250 m to the city centre and/or the night market on Dechanuchit Rd. Tuktuk at 100 ThB. 3 Floors with 6 rooms (3 types) and 18 more rooms in the garden. Wenn maintained hotel+garden+pool. Private beach not so clean (cigarette butts, plastic, garbage). Small fresh water pool: 4 x 8 m. 1 Free parasol + 2 beach chairs per room. Terrace on top of the restaurant. Breakfast with fixed menu served at the table, 3 choices: continental, American, Thai. A la carte restaurant rather expensive, compared with the countless cheap/good restaurants in town. But... romance at 2 steps from the sea has its price. Hotel with a heart for animals: 5 noisy mini dogs hop around, there are cages with 4 hedgehogs, 2 aras, a squirrel, with parakeets,2 aquariums with goldfish. Mini library. Nice sitting place with divans. Little frienly details everywhere: small statues, show window with Madame's souvenirs, 2 bronze ducks guard the garden shower. A bronze frog spits water, a small brook forces you to wash the sand from your feets when leaving the beach. Spacious room: good aircon, good size flat screen with DVD, 55 channels, free empty fridge, daily free 4 bottles water, free safe box, 2 free strandtowels per day, mini mini bathroom (shower) from 3,5 square meter, mini balcony from 1 square meter. Friendly staff. Family supervision. In the Market Village You'll find 20 and more restaurants and food stalls. There is the Hua Hin Hills Wine Bar and You'll find Starbucks, Black Canyon Coffee, Swensen's, Fuji, MK, Sizzler's, Pizza Hut, KFC and lots more.
Nice Place”
Had read other reviews and was a little wary. The walk down the soi to the hotel was not in any way as bad as some reviewers had indicated. The rooms were clean and large enough to move around in. The balcony was tiny with just enough room for a small drying rack and one chair. The staff was helpful and friendly. The restaurant was satisfactory though a little expensive (but than most restaurants in Hua Hin seemed to be more expensive than Bangkok or Chaig Mai. All in all I was very pleased and would book the same hotel the next time I visit Hua Hin
Very Nice Bungalow”
The Garden Bungalows at Veranda Lodge are delightful. They are nicely fitted with pretty much everything you need for a happy beach holiday. Everything at this hotel was incredibly clean! The staff are very friendly and well trained, and were extremely attentive to our every need. The pool is small but very clean, shaded in the afternoon and having a nice waterfall. I highly recommend the Veranda Lodge Garden Bungalows. We will go there again.
Famlly and Retirees”
After a week in Koh Tao, Hua Hin was quite a disappointment. The hoardes of families and retirees swarming the Hua Hin beach are kind of buzz kill after the mellow and romantic setting of Koh Tao. If you are under 50 you probably won't find much to hold your attention in Hua Hin. The Veranda is not a bad option, although a bit expensive considering the rooms are small and uninteresting. I paid a similar amount for a spectacular room in Koh Tao but at the Veranda had only a tiny balcony overlooking a back courtyard. The staff was friendly, but the restaurant service was slow and the food only average.
Nice place is wonderful Hua Hin”
It was a very pleasant stay and a good base to explore Hua Hin and the surroundings. The best restaurants are in the centre of town just off the beach. Great seafood at a reasonable price. There are quite interesting temples just south of town (the hill you see from the beach) and a little further south the turtle (Tao) temple.
Good Value for Money”
The best thing about Veranda Lodge is its location--it's situated right on the beach. Moreover, in my opinion, it has a much better beach than the two luxury hotels near it, Grand Centara and Hilton, which have a much rockier beach. The staff, perhaps contrary to some reviews, were actually helpful. They weren't particularly warm but neither were they frosty. We arrived in Hua Hin at around 11 pm--something we indicated in our Agoda reservation. When we got to the hotel, I was of the impression that one of their staff was up waiting for us. Further, they also help us call a tuk-tuk when we checked out to take us to the bus station. One minor quibble though--we indicated in our reservation that we wanted a twin room but they gave us a double instead on our first night. However, they did apologize and were proactive the next day in accommodating our request.
peacful and relaxing”
beautifully located on the beach just ten minutes walk from the city center. It s just a very peaceful and quiet place. The beach is sandy and wide, great for smaller kids too. It's always windy so Kite surfers are present. Not much peddlers to disturb and good to be able to eat on the beach as well....Hua Hin is really tourist friendly and well managed.
