Super location and very clean apartment”

we really enjoyed our stay here. the apartment was clean and spacious and the kitchen was well equipped. it was a short walk to anywhere you want to go in port douglas, and the beach is gorgeous. the only drawback to the apartment was the internet was not reliable. the woman at the desk was very kind and kept trying to fix it, but it kept going on and off for our entire stay. we really like to have reliable internet when we are far from home. maybe this was an unusual problem for verandah's.

We stayed at the Verandahs on our recent trip to Port Douglas. This place is great! Only a few minutes to the main street, and the other way to the beach! Sue and her partner were fantastic. If you prefer to not be just a number in a big resort this place is for you. The pool is beautiful, but we spent more time across the road at the beach.

Great holiday base. Felt like home away from home”

We were looking for a relaxed accomodation to base our port Douglas holiday, and this was just perfect. Relaxed and well equipped enough to feel like home; luxurious enough to feel special. Sue made everything easy. Great place.

Plenty to enjoy locally in good accommodation”

We really enjoyed our stay. The complex was small but attractive and pleasingly tropical. There was easy access to the pool and spa and downtown Port Douglas was right on our doorstep so that we could easily cater for ourselves or walk to a variety of restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful and directed us to lots of local hotspots.

What a gem!”

My husband and I recently stayed here with our teenage sons. We chose Verandahs over another place with a third bedroom because the overall living space was so much bigger and the location on a quiet street, but just around the corner from the main shopping / eating area, was perfect as the boys could come and go as they liked. Verandahs is also a really easy stroll to the beach and the marina (from where we caught a boat out to the reef). BTW, don't forget to book a tour of the rainforest with Tony's Tropical Tours while you're there. It's a shame there was just so much to do in and around PD as we only had 5 days and would love to have spent more time just relaxing at Verandahs, enjoying the big balcony with BBQ and chilling by the pool. Sue, the owner, was really friendly and helpful and the whole holiday was one of our best. Highly recommended.

Good apartment accommodation inPort Douglas. Close to shops and restaurants so no car or taxi required once your there.

Exceptional”

First time visit to Verandahs Apartments, however have previously been to neighbouring facilities. Well presented, spacious, comfortable and very clean apartments. Set in tropical gardens. Management staff friendly and very helpful. Conveniently located some 100 metres from Macrossan St. Pool is somewhat small and only for wading.

Friendly, boutique hotel”

We got such a good deal because we stayed out of season that we booked a two-bedroom apartment for just the two of us. The bedrooms were clean, spacious and well-located, one with an ensuite and the other down a little hall next to the bathroom, so two couples would have quite a bit of privacy from one another. The lounge area is small in comparison but opens out to a small verandah. It is squeezed sideways between it's two neighbouring properties and we found the verandah overlooked those next door. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment and a good size. We wanted as much quiet as possible so we asked for a room on the top/third floor but then found there was no lift. As older visitors, help with our suitcases would have been appreciated. Perhaps when Sue's husband is around, he does help but he was out of town when we arrived. Sue was very friendly and gave us great advice on where to visit, tours to take, places to eat.

The Verandah Apartments are a great place to stay. The apartments are comfortable and clean.They are located in town near many restaurants. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They booked all our excursions with reliable A+ companies.

The Verandahs was great - I have no problems with the hosts and the hotel. I think the cost applied to what I saw as the tarrif in the advertisement was not right and it is in my opinion unfair trading and misleading. Nothing to do with the hotel in my opinion.

What can I say. This place is great! Sue at the front desk was one of the nicest and most helpful people I've ever come across. She went out of her way to make our stay as comfortable as possible and genuinely cared about our well being whilst on holiday. Would def. stay here again and again.

Fantastic location- close to shops and beach. Good facilities, nice pool and gardens. Bed and bathrooms were good. Only concern was the noise transfer from upstairs, from the plumbing and from the stairwell.

Great location, very comfortable apartment”

Sue at the reception was a great help in anything we asked of her. She booked certain activities we were after and gave us all the information we needed to feel comfortable. The accommodation was exactly what we were after.
