Veriu Central delivers a concoction of old world style while embracing modern touches that exude the past and embrace the personality of its unrivalled location. The property has uncovered the eccentric character of Wentworth House to create much more than just a hotel. So perfectly located within the cultural heart of Sydney, you can feel truly connected to the fabric of this thriving city.
Each of our rooms are an expression of balance where old meets new in a perfectly designed space, ensuring you get a great night’s sleep in the heart of the city.

Stayed in both the Foveaux Room and Elizabeth Room. The Foveaux room is a decent size but the Elizabeth room may be a little small for two with luggage (and it's a little sadder with just a small window). However, the staff were great and we loved the decor and toiletries provided! Definitely still value for money with the great location and delicious morning pastries + coffee. Only wish we didn't keep missing dumpling happy hour!
Great location, lovely lobby, couple of faulty basics”
The pros: good price, great location, lovely lobby area that doubles as a bar and co-working space. Great location. The cons: the larger room that i ordered had a TV around the corner so it couldn't be viewed from the bed. And nowhere to put your clothes unless they were on a clothes hanger (not sure where you guys put your socks and undies, but this seemed like a weird omission to me). Bit noisy on Level 1.
Cozy room, spacious toilet and great location!”
Great stay within walking distance to supermarkets/f&b and retail stores! Room is cozy and nice except for the carpet that needs to be cleaned. Deinfitely a plus point that there’s a Wilson multi-storey carpark just a street away as we were driving. Staffs are friendly and we had a great stay!
Enjoyed my stay!”
Awesome location, walking distance to the subway, bus stops with lots of nearby restos and cafes. Facilities - well designed rooms though a bit too small. Lobby and living room are great for hangingout, reading or enjoying your coffee/beer. Staff - Excellent service. Very warm and accomodating.
Great hotel ”
Great hotel located near to Sydney CBD and amazing coffee shops and breakfast spots. The room size was fine if you're the type of person who doesn't spend too much time there. It was big enough for us and the bathroom was quite big too. The bed was so so comfy!
Lovely little boutique style accommodation close to the city. Love the morning coffee and pastry, the service provided was fantastic and all the staff were so happy. Rooms are on the smaller side, but this isnt an issue unless you plan to stay for a long time in your room, otherwise purely functional and all does the job. Comfortable and cosy.
This hotel is in a great location, close to CBD train stations but also a short walk away from Oxford Street and Surry Hills. The coffee & pastry for breakfast in the lobby was a lovely wait to start the day. I would've loved a slightly larger room but for the price we paid it was great value - if you're after something bigger choose something above the lead-in room type.
We really had a great stay at his hotel. The front desk and baristas we’re all friendly and helpful. Great location in Sydney because its only a few minutes walk to either Central station and Museum station. Loved the ambiance. The room is great with all the amenities you need (Nespresso included). Plus points for serving coffee and pastry in the morning.
Great location and front desk service but bad facilities ”
We stay for three nights and choose veriu central hotel. The staff is nice and helpful with lovely smile. But something need to be improve in room. The drainage pipe of toilet had bad smell and exhaust fan is not working. No room cleaning on the second day. The toilet tissue is running out.
The best BED EVER”
I have stayed in many hotels over the years from high end to low budget backpackers. Without doubt this is the BEST bed I have ever slept on anywhere. So much so I want one, it was like slipping into a cloud. The hotel itself was spotless and smelled divine, staff were very friendly and helpful. I could not recommend this hotel highly enough, I will look for this brand of hotel first for any future bookings.
Space was nice and clean, hung out in the lobby quite a bit just chilling and having drinks. Had a great time.
A good hotel with issues”
We enjoyed our stay. The rooms are well appointed though many are very small. The hotel offers a free coffee and pastry in the morning and happy hour 6pm to 8pm. The only criticism is the depressing state of the common landings. They seem to have been excluded from the recent renovations. With a little extra money spent it could be a great hotel instead of just a good hotel.
Very luxurious hotel without the price tag. Excellent location, small but very well designed rooms, making the most of the space, and you get a complimentary pastry and coffee every day. Really enjoyed our stay here.
Perfect location for us... Walking distance to the Philippines consulate, heaps of restaurants and shops in the area... Easy to get to the train for *city trip*...Room was as described... Staff friendly and helpful...
I love this accommodation for a short solo stay in the heart of Sydney.”
Very cool hotel with Surry Hill and City in walking distance- galleries, shopping & food. Great for solo short stay. Would be great if there was a better set up for clothes hanging and storage- over the fridge/kettle is awkward and frankly not practical. Love the decor and how cosy it is for one.
Great location, but room was relatively small.”
Great location, located near cafes and restaurants in Surry Hills and train stations. Rooms were modern, clean and tidy. Staff was generally friendly. They said in email that they would put the ironing board and iron in our room but failed to do so. We booked the Moderne Room, which had just enough space for our two medium-size luggages. Not much space for clothes hanging, so we had to move the coffee machines and cups away. Sound insulation was not particularly good, and we were kept awake by noises from neighbouring rooms during some evenings. But overall, good value for money.
Great hotel in a great spot!”
Loved this place, really funky lounge for relaxing with great spaces and lots of good books to read. Rooms are decked out in a very chic modern but individual styled look. Great spot to walk from, you are basically in the city. We stayed in the basic room, and look, it was small but it had enough room for us and the shared spaces are so great we were mainly in the lounge anyways. Try the cocktails!! the bar staff are brilliant. thanks for the complimentary coffee and pastry in the morning too!
We basically walked to the city from the hotel. They’ve got complimentary coffee and pastry every morning. The only thing is that it’s close to a main round so expect it to be somehow busy. But it did not bother us at all as we sleep like a log. It’s an uphill walk to museum station. Took us around 20-30 mins from the airport via uber. Overall great stay. Would stay here again next time.
The Elizabeth room would have been cramped with 2 people, but comfortable as a single. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. The staff was all friendly and the hotel had a bit of character. Would consider booking here again.
Clean, closed to amenities and friendly ”
The hotel is very clean, lookes new to me. About 500 meters to Museum station where lots of buses and trains are. Staff is friendly and helpful. I like the lobby the most as it is very inviting, just sat there and have a coffee. My only complaint is the noise insulation is not so good. Could hear other guests talking if they are loud. Overall it is thumbs up.
