Perfect Hotel in Istanbul”
The hotel is located in a very perfect location, just a min walk to famous attractions such as Sultan Ahmet Camii and Ayasofya Muzesi. The room is clean and staffs are very helpful and friendly especially manager Mr. Unal and Sezgin. Highly recommend to stay here.
Location is prime. It's located just minute's walk from Sultanahmed tram station. You can see both the blue mosque and Hagia Sophia, while eating your breakfast. It's really nice. Breakfast was exceptionally well-prepared. Love that it changes every day too. The room was decent. Small but decent. We are a family of 3 people. When I mentioned to the receptionist that my bed was uncomfortable and that I could feel the metal underneath it. When I came back to the hotel, I saw they put a comforter to cushion it. So thanks for that. I also like to say thanks for keeping our luggage while we went to travel out of Istanbul for a few days. I appreciate the gesture.
Warm welcome..... staff was really courteous especially people from housekeeping and reception, friendliness , best service, Great location, next to tram station. And I really like the rooftop view (blue mosque, aya sophia, topkapi palace and the ocean....) Overall was great!!!! I highly recommended.....
At 1st, we had a hard time finding the hotel because its inside an alley but approximately just 3-5mins walk from the main road. Taxi is unable to drop you off at the actual front door of the hotel bec the alley is small. Later I realized that the location of the hotel is great, it's near the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Topkapi, GrandBazaar, Basilica Cistern & a lot of restaurants nearby too! The Tram is also within 4mins walking distance away. What makes this Hotel greater is the super friendly staff. Shout out to Cem, Cezkin & Husein if im not mistaken. :) I have stayed at this hotel twice & their treatment to guests has been always the same, very welcoming and warmth. Talking about the rooms, they are relatively small but clean &comfy. When you go at the rooftop, the view is breathtaking, over looking the Blue Mosque & Hagia Sofia while having breakfast. I'd like to thank Ambassador for surprising me with a birthday cake! I highly recommend this property.
Great Hotel to Access All of Istanbul”
The pros of the hotel are as follows: (1) great views of Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque during breakfast, (2) very near Sultanahmet tram station, (3) very near touristic spots in Sultanahmet, (4) lots of restaurants and nearby convenience stores, (5) easy check-in and check-out, (6) good breakfast spread, and (7) hotel has back-up power, tried and test that it works. The cons are as follows: (1) hard to find if new to area, (2) hotel is in touristy area, i.e. prices off food and services may be inflated, and (3) small toilet area.
I want to give my review into two. Pros - hotel location is near to Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace Museum, restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops, money changer, tram station, Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar. Staff was very friendly and helpful Cons - the wifi connection is horrible. Most of the time we couldnt get internet connection. Second, the shower cubicle gets flooded every time we shower. The water could not drain quickly to the hole.
GREAT PLACE TO STAY!”
We love this place very much because it is hardly 400 mtrs to Blue Mosque and Aya Sofea, less than 100 mtr to the tram station which can connect to Taksim, and conveniently located at various restaurants! The room is clean and practical, for travelers to freshen up and rest at night. The breakfast buffet is of much variety too and they are delicious! Above all, the picturesque view of Blue Mosque at the hotel terrace makes it worth every penny you spent! Highly recommended! Thank you Ambassador Hotel...
one night stay at Ambassador hoter, Turkey”
The hotel is located close to almost all the tourist sites, just 2 to 5 minutes walk, staff were very friendly. There are so many restaurants around that one is spoilt for choice. Reall vwlue for money.
Excellent location. Comfortable rooms.”
In the middle of where you need to be within Sultanahmet, just minutes away from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Plenty of food places within walking distance. Tram line/station just outside along main road. Rooms are excellent and modern.
Booked this place due to its location. This hotel is within walking distance to all the attractions in the old city. Some taxi driver might not be familiar with its location, it's advisable to have its adress and phone number so that the taxi driver can call the hotel if needed. Or better if you can arrange for the hotel shuttle. It costed just about the same with taxi fare from the hotel About 60 TL and very reliable. Metro is just a few minutes walking. our Room on the 1st floor is quite small with no view on the but functional. We just use the room to sleep at night. Breakfast on the top floor has an amazing view and the omelette was the best that I ever had. Staff was welcoming and very kind. Welcome drinks and cake were served when we arrived added a nice touch.
Great location & friendly staff”
The Ambassador Hotel is literally walking distance from the great heritage sites of Istanbul (e.g. Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Basislica Cistern, etc.) in the Sultan Ahmet area. Their rooftop terrace where they serve Turkish style breakfast buffet has a view of the Blue Mosque and the Bosporus. It’s also walking distance to the Spice Bazaar (~20mins) and Grand Bazaar and shopping areas. Restaurants are all around, both local and those catered to tourists. Their staff is very friendly and helpful and always available day or night. I’ve returned there once (i.e. 2 stays now) and will stay there again if I were to visit Istanbul again. P.S. they also have a private Hamam (Turkish bath) with a very good masseuse!
Very good hotel”
Me and my wife were very pleased with the standards of the hotel. The staff were polite and respectful and the rooms are clean. The terrace has a beautiful view, you can see the blue mosque and the local park. All together, me and my wife had an amazing time staying at the Ambassador hotel.
Trên cả tuyệt vời”
Close to tram station, Blue Mosgue, Haghia Sophia, Basilica cisterns, Topkapi palace, bazaars . Nice view from terrace at breakfast time. Obliging staff. Be attentive if you will use hotel's turkish bath: for quicker result they use very hot water. Hot water, poured on my head, burned face skin. Result: skin pain all night, red blots visible and now ( five days passed). I recommend this hotel for others.
Hotel was excellent value for money. It is located in the most spectacular part of Istanbul,.”
The staff at the Ambassador was excellent. They saw to our every need and made us feel like family. Well done Guys!!! You made our experience in Istanbul so memorable. The Ambassodor also has the most magnificent roof terrace where we sat and had breakfast every morning looking across straight into the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will go back to stay with them if visiting Istanbul again.
Perfect location and staff”
The location is great. Easy walking distance to all the sights but down a small side street so quieter and felt cosy. All the staff were excellent in every way - they couldn't have been more friendly or helpful.
At Home and Safe”
As a frequent traveller myself I am very particular on details of the hotel I am checking-in. This hotel just make it to the top of the game! The Staffs are beyond service. They offer you the ‘at-home’ environment away from home. Shamsuddin (Reception) & Hussain are the forefront asset of this property. It is like Deja Vu even on the first impression. I check-in on the day of my birthday coming from a flight. I wqs surprised of holding me for a while at the reception bec They Offer me a birthdat cake! I almost cried in tears and happiness. The staffs are very prompt to everything you need. They always make sure that you are at your day’s activities. They suggests and offer you services like always look after your safety. Location. At the heart of Sultanahmet where tourist thrives I am surprise that this hotel exist humbly. They are literally at the epicentre of every tourist interests. The famous landmarks are a stone throw away. I highly recommend & def I am coming back to Istanbul
I booked like everyone else, just by reviewing people feedbacks. But Got a little dissapointed when i say hotel location, in the end of a small lane, very confined. But once I started living there I find out staff was excellent, and giving proper care. Breakfast experience cant be describe in words, a simple and full range breakfast served by their humble staff with awesome views of historic Istanbul district. recommendation 9 out of 10. try to get services from hotel buy name ABBAS, and always for 3 bed room, i.e. slightly bigger, with more appropriate space.
Hotel Ambassador is my preferred and automatic choice in Istanbul. It was my second stay at this hotel and it was as good as the first one. The hotel is really good, value for money, ticks all the boxes, clean and nice. A terrace with a view for breakfast. Big thumbs up
Great Location, nice rooms, great view!!”
We were there for 7 nights in early Dec 2016 and we love the place and the hotel. It's a 5-storey building, quite recently renovated, has heater n a little lift. We had 2 triple rooms for us, although the rooms are not very spacious they are clean. Bathrooms are new n clean as well. The rooms are cleaned daily n they gave us 2L mineral water everyday. Breakfast are just ok like buns, toast, cereal n cold turkish salad etc but you can order ommelette if you can't eat what's served. The view is fantastic from the terrace restaurant as you can take photo with either Hagia Sofia or Blue Mosque in the background while having breakfast 😀 It is only about 5 min walk from Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Basilica Cistern n 10min from Topkapi. Sultanahmet tram station is just across the road which is so convenient. The hotel is located on a slight uphill land in between restaurants but there is a ramp to reach the hotel entrance, quite convenient to push my mil in her wheelchair. Overall, 4 star!
Great location with some issues...”
The hotel itself is in a small alleyway. Initially it was a little hard to find, but soon we realized it was in a great location. The staff were quite friendly, but I felt like we were expected to shell out money and pay for things. The front desk would introduce tours to you, and then say 'But we can offer discount to you" without actually telling you how much of a discount you get. I find that a little weird. Why don't they just tell you upfront? The breakfast is pretty good. Lots of local type foods which can seem a bit strange to the palate, but I suggest you try them all. From 3pm - 4.30pm it seems there is tea and cookies and cake at the lobby, but every time I was there, they only offered tea. They were not so forthcoming on the cookies and cake so I had to ask for it (seemed a bit weird that they will not just put it out on display). I didn't really feel the staff were so friendly. Location wise, it is very near to the Sultanahmet Mosque, the Ayasofya museum and the Hippodrome. The restaurants around the hotel are VERY overpriced, so be warned. There are lots of restaurants 5-6 minutes away from the hotel so don't be afraid to explore. The Grand Bazaar and Spice Market is also walking distance.
