Was okay - then rate increased”

We have stayed here on many occasions and were satisfied that for the room rate, it was okay. But when we went to extend our stay via Agoda we found that all rooms were booked. We had wanted to stay another 7 nights but no matter which night I entered, they were fully booked. So we hopped in the car and found an alternative for the remaining nights of our stay in town. I was disappointed to note that when I checked online later I found that whilst they were fully booked on Agoda, they had plenty of rooms through other online booking agents. The following day (after we had booked elsewhere) they had rooms available on Agoda. But, 50% dearer per night and can only pay at hotel. This also means no rebates from Agoda. So, higher rates and lost rebates. Interesting to note that other hotels in the area had not increased their prices and Indochina was now among the highest rates in the area. I understand that the day we left, they only had 2 room bookings for that night. Oh well, their loss.

Updated the Pool Furnitire”

I have stayed here many occasions and each time it gets better. They have a new F&B Manager who is intent on making guests happy. He chats to everybody and seems genuinely concerned that his guests are enjoying there stay at this hotel. The pool now has a complete revamp of the furniture. Gone are the old style outdoor table and in are the new style. Comfortable and the whole experience of a meal or a beer by the pool has lifted 100%. Hopefully some umbrellas are on the next order of business - that would top it off nicely!

Our numerous experiences here have always been pleasant. It is a very good value. The rooms are small and do not have comfortable furniture for sitting, but they are clean. The breakfast was limited in selection but good, certainly what one would expect from the value price.

The hotel is very big but the pool is HUGE. We enjoyed the stay, the rooms are comfortable, clean and adequate. Breakfast as part of the price is very good. The hotel is showing its age but its fine for a stay.

Pros: 1. Staff is friendly and helpful 2. Location is great, right on the main road. 3. Restaurant is a good value. The menu has a large variety of Thai and international cuisine. 4. The breakfast buffet was good, considering the value price of this hotel. Cons: 1. Very noisy hallways.

Good size rooms - room for improvements”

This is the best hotel I have stayed in out of the 4 I have tried when visiting this region. For the price, it is value for money. I have breakfast included and that tends to be a little bit of a let down. But to be fair, the hotel is more suited to Thai people than us Farangs. I find the coffee to be stewed to the point that it is undrinkable, buffet dishes cold with no burners under Chafing dishes or Warming trays, pre-made omelettes & eggs left in the open air con room. Small no-cost changes to this sort of thing will make a huge difference to the stay. Also, for some unknown reason, the toilet door latch hardware has been removed and we cannot keep the toilet door shut unless we are inside. Not keen having toilet open all day and frequently throughout the day, there is a septic odour present that appears to be coming from bathroom drains due to poor drainpipe ventilation. Not sickening, just not the air quality one prefers to enjoy in a room. As I say, room for minor improvements.

Great hotel, quiet, big pool, good food”

I spent one night again going from Poipet to Pattaya. Hotel is big and clean. Staff are friendly. The clean pool is very big. Food is delicious and not too expensive. Across the street is a Tesco and some little food stalls. Not much else around. Wifi was everywhere and very reliable. Shower had a cutain and did not wet the floor. Lots of hot water. Shampoo and shower gel.

Nice layover after Poipet casinos”

I left the casino late so stayed here one night. Big clean room. Entire hotel is big and clean. Very nice staff everywhere. Big clean pool with shower room and bathrooms. The pool was refreshing, a few Thai kids were not noisy at all. I ate dinner by the pool, chicken with cashew nuts. It came in an edible crispy bowl. Delicious and not expensive. The pool only had 4 loungers, but 12 wood tables. They have a live band after dinner til around midnight, but I never heard it in my room facing the back parking lot. The bed and shower were very nice. The big TV had Fox (TV shows) and 2 news channels in English. It cost 120 baht to get here from the border. It was 60 baht to the bus station. The lady at the front desk called a tuk-tuk-for me. I'll stay here next time but will leave later to catch the 1:30 bus to Ekamai.

Stayed here for just one night and was totally satisfied. It is located on the main road, but it set back so there is no problem with traffic noise. The hotel is a 2 story establishment designed in a horseshoe shape around an enormous swimming pool. It looks to be about 25m long, and has plenty of room to dine, drink, or lounge around it. It really is impressive for a small town hotel. The rooms are not the most modern, but are well maintained and everything was very clean. The beds were comfortable, and the curtains kept out all the morning sun ensuring a good night's sleep. The restaurant was another pleasant surprise. I was carb loading for a marathon and so had both a pizza and some pasta. Both exceeded my expectations in taste and in size. If you aren't sure where to eat in town, and even if you are, the hotel restaurant makes an excellent choice. The included breakfast was Thai food and Thai style western food. I had rice and noodles, both very good. For the price, I would not hesitate to stay at the Indochina hotel again, and highly recommend it.

Back to the indochina for the dreaded visa-run. The hotel is by far the best in the area. The rooms are basic but spacious and clean.The pool is large and well maintained. Free nightly entertainment and exceptional food all for under 1000baht (£20-$30)per night. A huge thank you to all staff for the return of my cellphone and wallet which was mislaid in the hotel.Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area .

Brilliant Hotel”

We arrived at this hotel about 1 pm, checking in was a very quick formality and within 15 minutes we were swimming in a very large añd extremely clean swimming pool. We then had a snack which was so good we decided to eat in the hotel for our evening meal - I must say we were not disappointed. Throughout our stay in the hotel the staff were very attentive and extremely helpful. My only regret is that I only booked one night at this hotel but this is a hotel I will definitely be returning to in the future.

We have stayed at the indochina many times over many years due to the dreaded visa-run. It is by far the best place in the area to stay.A great swimming pool,comfortable rooms,nightly entertainment and breakfast for 800 baht per night for two people.The barbarqued seafood buffet at the poolside restaurant was delicious. When reviewing on this site i always rate the hotel in relation to cost. It appears with some posts that for under 1000 baht they expect the hilton.

THE INDOCHINA JUST GOT BETTER.”

We have stayed at the indochina many times due to my numerous visa runs. We chose here due to the overall comfort and the great pool. We were so impressed with the recent refurbisments. New toilets,wash basins and shower curtains and re-painting of the rooms. The poolside area has also been upgraded.At the time we were there, there was a seafood festival. The food was exceptional and reasonably priced. We ate poolside(.which is an impressive site when lit up at night) and listened to the live entertainment.We have stayed in many places in the area during my years in thailand but can say without hesitation that the indochina is the best

Nice stay”

First of all... the hotel is not located in the city Sakaeo, but in the province Sakeo, in the city Aranyaprateth. It is perfect place if you going to this city or staying a night before going in or out of Cambodia. Being there with children was great due to a very nice pool.

Relaxing, comfortable with great food and pool”

We have stayed at the Indochina many times previously and are now pleased it is recently included on the Agoda website. After doing numerous visa runs and staying in the area many times, I find this hotel to be the best due to its amenities and overall comfort. After doing the visa run and walking around the market for few hours, the pool is the perfect resprite. The restaurant is of good standard and has a varied menu which includes European dishes. We were fortunate that the evening we were staying, there was a superb five piece jazz band and their unique interpretation of modern classics was fantastic. The wifi connection was excellent due to the router being right outside our room. There is a 24-hour Tesco Lotus express and a tuk-tuk service right opposite the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

Good choice after a 5hr train ride.”

A grand entrance, maybe the only pool in town. The room was good, comfy bed. Maybe in need of redecoration, but this is off the beaten track. The restaurant was empty, so I ate over the road in a lively bar. The tv channels were limited for this grade of hotel. Bathroom was good. Breakfast was set menu, but you can replenish your tea/coffee, if you're into stewed drinks. But the food was good. Attentive staff, though there maybe some language issues. I'd come again if I was in the area. Just a shame it wasn't within walking distance of town centre. 50bt tuk tuk should do it.
