Great Location, Lovely hotel, Helpful and Friendly staff”
This hotel suited us perfectly, the bedrooms were really comfortable (loft room) and the staff were so helpful. The location is in the heart of the action, easy to reach to city centre, within the vibrant waterfront area and close to the excellent city sightseeing tour terminal. The service in the restaurant at breakfast was a bit disorganised but the food is mainly on the buffet and so this didn't have a big affect on our stay. Need to understand where the Ubers are allowed to stop around the waterfront, but there are normal taxis outside the hotel. Overall this was a great hotel for our week visiting Cape Town and region, loved the city and region and we will be back one day and when we do we will return to the Victoria and Alfred Hotel without hesitation.

Poor wifi in room but read on!”
I’ll state this upfront - four and not five stars mainly because of the wifi that wasn’t working at all in the room. And that warranted a star taken away, is because our trip could have been compromised if we didn’t have alternative ways to stay online. More importantly, you can see there were previous reviews complaining about the wifi but the problem seems to persist. During our stay, we had reported the issue on three separate occasions, but not once did we receive an update from the staff. In short, this is a prevailing issue that the hotel management seems to have little interest in fixing. The people we met were all lovely though! The parking attendant, receptionists, porters, cleaners, waitresses were all warm and made us feel welcome all the time. It was also a nice touch that they clearly remembered we were guests of the hotel each time we encountered them. Wesley deserves a shout-out here. The location was great and in the heart of V&A waterfront area. If you didn’t rent a car, you could use the hotel as the base and spend at least 1-2 days here. There are plenty of good restaurants, shops, museums within walking distance. And if you did rent a car, safe parking spaces are provided. Always welcome in Cape Town since street parking isn’t always as safe. We stayed on the top floor (level 3) in a loft and the view was awesome. The room was clean and well-equipped. The air-conditioning / heating was working well too, once you figure out how to operate it. The tv came with a full suite of cable channels (for those who wish to stay in a bit). There was a decent breakfast service with buffet and a la carte options that starts at 6.30am, which is perfect if you wanted to get some hot food before an early day out. If we ever come back, it’ll be for the location, people, and we will bring our own wifi for sure.

Perfect location amidst Cape Town's waterfront”
although my tenth or so visit to beautiful cape town, this was my stay at the v&a hotel. we chose the v&a this time, because it is perfectly located directly in the waterfront, allowing easy access to cape town's top shopping location and amusement venues. everyone at the hotel was very relaxed and friendly, we felt very much at home. our room, located on the 3rd floor, was huge (aroung 40 sq. metres, i guess) and decorated beautifully. breakfast was good and including fresh oysters every morning, though service was a bit slow.

great hotel, location and spa”
I had an excellent stay at the V&A. It has a very nice atmosphere, great food in the waterfront restaurant, fast internet, modern rooms, plus views over the mountain and waterfront if you are on the right side. Best of all is the location on the waterfront near the various free music events, the massive mall and loads of excellent restaurants. I've stayed in around 5 hotels in Cape Town on recent visits and this one is probably now my favourite for the rate. The spa is also worth a visit, though more expensive than others, they are obviously well trained and very professional.

Amazing location and stunning breakfast”
We had an amazing time. Location is superb - right on the waterfront and close to all the shops, restaurants and boat trips. We stayed at the Alfred but the garden and pool at the Victoria was lovely. As an 'Albert' guest you have full access to the Victoria facilities which are feel like an Oasis from the city vibe. Breakfast was stunning. I have never been presented with such a diverse choice of such quality. Oysters and champagne are just 2 examples of what is available. The list is endless - wouldn't be able to fit the list into this box! We ate dinner at the hotel twice during our 5 day stay - excellent food, quality service and tranquil ambience. Would certainly return.

Best hotel”
The view of Table Mountain and the canal is something to experience . It is absolutely wow! The room was very spacious. We had the best service ever received from hotel staff. Lunga, the security guard greeted us on our name every time. Well done to all at the Victoria and Alfred Hotel for making our stay so memorable.

Amazing location”
The water front is an amazing place to stay in Cape Town, staying at the v&a you feel like your right in the heart of everything that's going on. The hotel has some great history, the staff couldn't have been more helpful, arranging trips and tours and flowers in our room for my partners birthday. Had a great few days at the v&a will definitely be returning again soon

Great Location , Nice Hotel ever in CapeTown”
We stayed 3 nights at the hotel in the loft room. It is very valuable for us, nice room and great service surround with panoramic fabulous natural view. Breakfast is very good as well, when you sit to eat your breakfast, you feel the ocean next to you. The hotel is very close to dining & shopping area, just 3 minutes walk to Victoria Wharf. We love it and will be back here again for our next trip to Cape Town for sure.

Liz ”
This is a very central hotel, smack on the Waterfront in Cape Town, that is to a very high standard. When you walk out of the front of the hotel to have your breakfast for the first time it has a real 'wow' factor., with the Table Mountain in the background. We felt very safe here and it was quiet even though it was in the middle of all the excitement. Recommended.

Outstanding Location & Customer Service”
Had a wonderful 5 night stay at the V&A Hotel in the Waterfront. This location cannot be beaten. I would also like to mention their wonderful concierge Wesley Smith who was just wonderful! He was helpful in putting together tourism info, organizing tickets and constantly following up regarding travel info. Just a total pleasure and helping hand. Thanks to the hotel for their great customer service!

Great Location and Staff”
Great hotel in a terrific location, the staff are all extremely helpful and friendly. The room was lovely with a great view over the Waterfront and it wasn't noisy which was a lovely surprise as we had thought it would be. Everything was very clean. The room looked like it could do with a revamp, the decor is a bit outdated. It was disappointing that we did not receive the turndown which is a standard offering for a hotel of this calibre.

Good”
We are regular visitors to the V& A and the city and have stayed at The One and Only, Radisson Red and the Cape Vineyard & Spa hotel (which we absolutely LOVE). The Victoria & Alfred is a good location to stay. They have the best gowns! and agreed to sell me a gown. We ate in the hotel once and the seafood platter tasted great!. We did have an issue with getting into our room twice when the key card did not work. We have different surnames and my husband signed for lunch in ihs name and was thereafter, when asking for assistance to get into the room, treated not very politely and was asked why he signed with a different surname and who he is to his embarrassment - this could have been handled better.
