Very Nice Older Hotel”

First: I would stay here again; price was very competitive. Rooms do not have an internet connection--no wireless, no wired internet jack--but the staff were very helpful when I asked where I could connect: in the lounge at the front. The hotel is very convenient for the rear entrance of the Kaohsiung train station. However, the nearest Kaohsiung station MRT (Subway) entrance is on the other side of the tracks and not really convenient. You will need to pay six (yes, only 6) NTD for a transit ticket to walk through the station OR you have to walk over a station pedestrian overpass that has lots of steps, which would be pleasant on a hot Kaohsiung day. That said, the hotel has lots of little shops around it, a very convenient laundromat not far away, and it is in a central location in the city, making many destinations a short taxi ride away.

Comfortable”

We arrived at half past midnight. The staff checked us in really fast and within 10 minutes we were in our room. The room is big and clean. Travellers to this hotel have to cross the bridge if they arrive by the Kaohsiung Railway or Mass Rapid Transit, as the hotel is located at the other end of the station. Construction around the area is ongoing and the roads are blocked. The only way to the other side is through the bridge. Approach the train station staff at the gate and inform them that you are just using the bridge and they will write you a ticket. Return the ticket when you have crossed the bridge.

Handy location, good service and facilities”

The Victoria Hotel is situated right at Kaohsiung Station (maybe on the wrong side of the tracks for some) in a quiet area. For budget travellers, the cost is reasonable and the facilities and service are good .While a little inconvenient having to cross through the station to reach the main part of town and the nearest MRT station, being out of the hustle and bustle has its advantage. There are convenience stores and a self-serve laundry close by.

It's on the opposite side of Kaohsiung Station as the metro station, so its inconvenient to have to walk over the walkway, but staff are great and rooms were spacious and clean.

Nice location near the train station”

the hotel is very convenient to the mrt kaohsiung main station so it's a good location for exploring kaohsiung. the rooms are pretty dated and the low ceilings feel strange for a tall westerner. but the staff is very friendly and its a decent deal for the price.

Nice hotel & friently hotel staff”

Good location of the hotel, with nice & clean room. Just beside Kaohsiung train station, but you had to walk through the bridge link between front & back of the train station. 15 minute walk to the famous night market.

An old hotel, but the location and service is good”

The location is very good: right behind train station which is very convenient if you are travelling by train. The staff is very nice and helpful as well. Honestly, the hotel room appears to be quite old, but I think the cleanliness is acceptable. Just don't expect to have any luxurious experience. It's just a economical hotel with nice location.

Nice centrally located hotel”

Location wise it is almost brilliant. It is situated near the train station. However, the area is under construction so it is quite hard to get to the other side of the train station, unless you know your way. The staffs were extremely friendly and polite, and were more than willing to help. However, the free wifi can only be used at the lobby but not the rooms. Overall, it was a good and pleasant stay.

Friendly staff but a bit old”

as located at the rear station, you must walk across the bridge 5-6 minutes to the front station where you than get mrt and bus station. the hotel provides ro water in the room.

The hotel is very old-style. The room is big but the interior is old and the centralized air condition is a bit noisy. Not going back to this hotel anymore.

Acceptable”

A spoilt fridge just for show. Room no window. Air con controlled by owner. Thats to say room can not control air con. My 1st nite body sweat because np air con. Beakfast very lousy. Also everyday the same food for breakfast.

They will not clean your room if you don't tell them to do so. Room is VERY OLD.
