Do no stay here
The purpose of my trip was to go to thai consulate and get a visa so i was not looking for anything special. However this place is way bellow average. The staff is friendly and speaks decent english BUT the rooms are filthy and water is leaking from everywhere. As a result the rooms stink because of the humidity. I took a shower and when I went out of the bathroom my room looked like a swimming pool. It is that bad. The bedsheets had this yellow coloring and smelled bad as well. You don't want to go there.

Very average
Very average hotel and there's currently building work going on next door which means it's noisy from early morning until late afternoon. Beds are horrible and the sheets are stained and dirty. Walls are dirty and the TV signal is very poor. Staff however is very nice.

Bad service and place.
1. Room is damp, water leaking. 2. Mosquito infested ground. 3. Staff give wrong info about transportation. 4. Bus ticket sold was not what we asked for. 5. Rude staff waiting outside my room door to check i have stolen their "pillow". 6. Their pillow is so thin, bed is so hard.

Great Place
Friendly staff, great location, comfortable bed, good breakfast, air con fine, good-size TV. My only negative was WiFi a bit weak in my room.

I stay there 3 nights in early July. The toilet smell like wet carpet and the bed is very hard like rock and their clean every day. I can get better hotel with that price. The location is good and the staff is just a normal standard for as this type of hotel

Good location, friendly staff, value for money
this is my 2nd time with vientiane star hotel. So far it's been good except there's huge construction right behind the hotel and it' starts from 6.45am to 7pm.

All that a traveler needs
Enjoyed my stay in Vientiane Star Hotel. The staff were helpful as they were able to check me in earlier than the official check-in time. They also provided me a map and directions to the top tourist spots in the city center. There was free bottled water everyday which was a big help to budget-conscious travelers. Breakfast was great, as well. The hotel was close to everything. You can manage to walk to every temple and monument within minutes to an hour, depending on the distance. The room was okay, the bathroom had a heater. The only problem was the construction nearby which can be irritating to some, but tolerable for me (at least) since I was gone most of the day.
