        Love the weather”
Nice, cool weather, friendly staff, near several tourist spots
The owner of the hotel is a doctor who speaks good English. The hotel is far from Lake Inle, but at least that meant that there were available rooms.

        Far away from Inle Lake”
        Low Price
The hotel has similar name to the other hotel which is View Point Lodge at Taik Nan Bridge & Canal, Inle Lake which is at the canal in Nyaung Shwe town. I booked the hotel thinking that it is near to Taunggyi as I was taking an overnight bus from Mandalay to Taunggyi only to realize that this hotel which is in Aungban is about 45 min away from the lake and 1 hour away from Taunggyi. I just saw the other reviewer has to pay USD40 to get from Heho airport to Aungban town. It is a good place to stay if you plan to visit Pindaya and surround mountain area, the stretch between Aungban and Pindaya is very scenic, passing farms and villages of the Danu and Pa-O. I ended up to let the hotel forfeit what I have paid for the night and instead has to book in to the at Nyaung Shwe town which I fill is convienient place to stay if to visit the lake as there are many boat that brings you for the day trip to cover most of the sites surrounding the day itself.

        Very disappointing”
        None
We booked knowing it was not on the lake but thinking it was near. It is 90 minutes from Lake Inle which is a $30 taxi ride. The town it is in is dead. We booked and paid for 3 nights and stayed 1 . The hotel is relatively expensive as all Myanmar hotels seem to be. It was not dirty but the room was grubby. The manager spoke some English and tried to be very helpful. He was a nice man but knew it was a bad location and clearly had had previous requests for cancellations and knew the owner would not agree.

        Simple hotel in untouched town”
        Kind staff
this hotel is the only foreigner-focused hotel in aungban, a local non-touristy town at the intersection of the roads between kalau, pindaya, and nyaung shwe (the gateway to inle lake). it is about 40 minutes to get to nyaung shwe and 1.5 hours to get to pindaya. the hotel is not yet up to the standards of foreign-class hotels, but the owner is working on it. the best part of our stay was walking around a "real" myanmar town that wasn't already set up for tourists. as americans, we were a unique commodity there, and we enjoyed the "free smiles" we got from the locals.

        View Point Hotel”
        -----------------------------------------------------------------
The hotel didn't offer any of the features it promised except for the bed and the breakfast and is way too expensive. The tv, wifi and hot water weren't working, while I was the only guest so they seemed to have plenty time to fix these problems The location is too far away from all the sightseeing areas and there are no bus or pick-up services so you need to go on a 30 minutes (motorbike)taxi to Kalaw.

        Not just "outside" Inle Lake”
        No chance to find out
I unfortunately didn't have the chance to stay at this hotel as it is two hours of taxi drive away from Nyaung Shwe, the town a few miles north of Inle Lake. If there is any town that can be said "outside" Inle Lake, it should be Nyaung Shwe. I booked this hotel through smartphone app without being given sufficient info to make the right decision. I hope I am the last one who have to deal with this.

Basic hotel 35 miles from Inle Lake”
        Good food at the restaurant
This hotel was 35 from Inle/Nyaung Shwe and it took about 90 mins by taxi to get there. The journey was pleasant enough but it was a bit too far for me. It's a fairly basic hotel, the room I had didn't have a working shower, soap or a hand towel/bath mat which I found surprising. There was a TV but the channel was controlled by the restaurant downstairs meaning it changed frequently. The food at the restaurant was nice and cooked to order. There was wifi in the lobby of the new building.

Comfortable hotel - location drives up price”
        staff, comfortable rooms,
good hotel with very accommodating staff - only issue is the location is far away from pindaya or inle lake. taxis, though they are convenient and provided us with a driving tour of shan state, drove up the price.

        Not so good ”
        Not near Lake Inle
I booked this because it came up under Lake Inle. When I landed at airport the taxi guys did not want to go there. It's 40 minuets in the wrong direction from Lake Inle. They asked why I stayed there and changed us about $40.00 each way to the hotel. The hotel is not very clean and claims to have food, business center, etc. It has none of that. No one spoke English at all (which normally would not be a problem, but I was lost here and needed help). Lucky for us there was a doctor next door that spoke English and helped us out. We only stayed one of the two nights we had booked and them went down lake Inle (no refund). This town does not have a lot to do. People were very friendly though.

Right off the main junction/square/bus stop to Bagan.
Perfect for exploring the area: Inle, Kekku AND Pindaya and Indein. 30 min from the Heho airport.
