This resort a beautiful, calming feast for the senses but it's the friendliness and helpfulness of it's multi national staff that sets it apart.

The pool area is rarely busy and wonderfully sited, the included breakfast is great, the barbecue dinner specials a treat.

View Point Resort is located at the southern pinnacle of Koh Tao, with its dramatic scenery and stunning panoramic views. With the ocean on one side and the jungle on the other, the property is tucked away amongst the rocks, overlooking the beach.
A new generation of Thai artisans has created beautiful organic spaces that blend naturally into the surrounding environment for you to enjoy. The villas and cottages have been built by craftsmen using local raw materials. The resort has individually designed accommodation which ranges from larger private Pool Villas to smaller, but nonetheless spectacular, Deluxe Sea View Cottages and Garden View Cottages.
The open plan design of the buildings bring guests closer to nature. You must be prepared to be in contact with nature! Guests can relax from sunrise to sunset, accompanied by the music of the local birds and gentle sound of the sea. You will hear the call of the toukeis, and you will be amazed by the land crabs that scurry through the beautiful and colorful garden.

Incredible stay at the View Point!”
After a week in Thailand we finally docked in Koh Tao and arrived at the incredible View Point Resort. The resort is situated in the incredibly beautiful Chalok Baan Kao bay, and you reach it by going over a very steep hill with a taxi. Ask around at the pier and they will help you out (about 100B per person). We arrived and was welcomed by very friendly reception staff who explained everything we needed to know regarding breakfast times (included for all guests) and free taxi's to the towns. We were escorted to our rooms which were lovely garden view cottages at the top of the resort. When you open the door onto the balcony you are surrounded by lush, green jungle/garden. The bathroom is quite interesting as you have to access it by leaving the room through a door which leads you outside before you enter the bathroom, we really liked it :) The restaurant / pool and bar is right at the bottom of the resort and you have to walk down the stairs through the gardens to get there. A lovely, beautiful walk which we also really enjoyed. In the evening you can spot little frogs, gekko's and land crabs on your way back to the cottage. The pool area is beyond beautiful, looking out over the stunning bay. The water was so clear that we could see the fish in the ocean from the pool. They also serve really yummy cocktails and food at the pool during the day. We spent a lot of time here and really enjoyed the staff here as they were always super friendly and accommodating. We also really enjoyed the daily included breakfast - it included fresh juice, coffee, croissants, bread, fruit, eggs (any way you want), bacon, potatoes, a thai dish, roasted tomatoes and exotic mushrooms. There was also an option to get pancakes! We had dinner at the hotel restaurant one evening and it was really tasty and of high quality. the other evenings we walked over to the little town of Chalok Baan. It took about 10min to walk to the town. You cross a bit of beach and then walk over a cement
Our stay (3 nights including 2 nights in a Garden Bungalow & 1 night in Pool Villa) at the View Point Resort was absolutely lovely... "+" - The resort Bungalows, villas are "hidden" in the jungle. Build on a hill, you'll need to walk through a nicely "landscaped" jungle to access to our bungalow, villas or the other facilities. At the really point of the Koh Tao Island, you will enjoy a fantastic view over the bay and the surrounding sea. Truly, this resort is a piece of heaven. The lounge, infinity pool is amazing - Staff : The Thai & occidental really fit to the resort "atmosphere". Discreet, peaceful, accessible, they really intend to make our stay as lovely as the resort is. We even take a Yoga class and the location and the class were fantastic. - Chalok : The city (close to the hotel... About 10mns from the resort) is a peaceful city (not as Sairee) with a lot of bar on the beach with excellent thai & BBQ food. You must have a Mojito made with amber rhum at The Pirate Bay bar close to the Hotel... "-" - The Breakfast The restaurant for diner time (and room service) was incredible (even if a bit expensive)... We were really disapointed by the breakfast... As by the tastes and choices. Even if they proposed to warn them about some "special request", they just don't follow it... Beware if you have any food allergys. - The Gym I'm found of sport and even if I was aware of it, there were no equipment (running, fitness, etc.). As the level of the resort (and price regarding to the country) is pretty high and focus on the wellness ,you can expect to have some equipment to exercize your whole body. Truly, the drawbacks related to this resort are minor compare to the potential of the Resort. Our night at the Pool Villa or in the Garden Bungalow were amazing & the View Point Resort was the best "Hotel" experience we had in Thailand !
Perfect stay ”
Although it was raining most of the days, the view from our Sea View Villa was so stunning, that we didn’t even put a TV on once. Perfect resort for honeymooners! There is a beach community short track away through pirate bay, and depending on high tide, through bars. Ban Chalok village offers a variety of local restaurants, massage places and small shops. Koh Tao is very expensive for taxis, make sure you ask the View Point to order you their taxi for cheaper price to meet you from the boat. The restaurant attached to View Point - Cape Restaurant offers delicious food for reasonable prices. The restaurant manager Viky was especially helpful, as was all the staff in the resort. Our best stay in Thailand yet! We will come back here again.
Beautiful, lovely, peaceful, wonderful”
Adults-STAY HERE! Great value for the money. Beautiful, lovely, wonderful place with amazing views. Spectacular bungalows, walkways through immaculate, spectacular gardens, awesome restaurant and lounge area on Chalok Bay. The staff is lovely and can speak many languages well. If you are looking for a honeymoon location-the pool villas are mind blowing. truly beautiful. I was so surprised by this place because the price is very reasonable and for what you get-you will be extremely pleased. Most people would see the bungalows on the cliff and ask about them. I brought many people back for a tour. And many people in the town were moving up here on the cliff for the beauty of the place. Seriously, the town bungalows were the same price and not on the same level as this place at all. I hope the price stays the same!! Doubt it though. Caveats: no hot water, AC, the beach is just okay-rocky. The walk into town can be tricky at high tides. You will need a pick up from the pier by the Resort,(100 baht each way)-this is an interesting ride. HILLY. no way you can walk-need a Sherpa or a billy goat. But if you are looking for quiet time, peace, and startling beautiful place. stay here. Also has a nice view point with a garden to watch the sea and sunset. Stayed in the sea villas-overlooking Chalok Bay(which is the nicest and not overdone Bay ) i recommend these. Snorkeling just below the villas or walk over to Freedom beach on the opposite side of the bay, swimming there too. also quick walk to Suwon view point, great view. kayak over to Shark bay. bigger beach. Sharks! at 3-5 pm. Eat at the restaurant "expensive" for Thai prices-but not really 7-10$ gets you great food. crabmeat tacos, sweet potato pancakes, homemade granola with coconut yogurt. the shakes were great too.
Stunning location with a beautiful view”
We booked a sea view room for 4 nights for our honeymoon and loved View point resort and the picture perfect little bay in Koh Tao. View point was the only resort out of 3 we stayed in, in Thailand which felt like there was a personal touch as it is small and they even left us a bottle of wine to help us celebrate our honeymoon which we drank in a quiete little romantic cove overlooking the ocean. The views are fantastic, the room was very nice and just the right amount of rustic although we were not huge fans of the wet room (shower and toilet in one room). The restaurant food was really good and relatively reasonable for an up market resort. We also loved how helpful and friendly the staff were and that it’s walking distance to a quaint little town with lots of options for eating out, shopping, renting scooters, diving or doing laundry. The only minor cons for us were the wet room, very inconsistent hot water temp in the shower and the lack of cupboard space to hang clothes.
Initially planned to stay at deluxe garden view cottage but finally we stayed for 2 nights in Pool Villa 5. The entire resort is vast, villas and cottages are scattered across the jungle forest on the hill. Staff is very helpful and making sure you have a pleasent stay. It's quite close to the pier but the road is very steep and it takes some time even by car. Anyway they offer tranfser both ways so that's not a problem. There is second path, through the resort, down to the bay and beach from where you can easily reach facilities (shops, restaurants, exchange, ATMs) in Chalok Baan (from the Villa it was around 15 minutes walk). Resort is located on the hill just at the beginning of the bay and also has very nice beach next to it. There are even some snorkeling spots but we didn't have time to check those (snorkeling gear is available for rent at the resort) Villa 5 was awesome, we have never stayed before in such a place. Two cottages, one was bedroom with very high ceiling and entire wall of window doors that could be opened towards the pool and sea. We used that during the day and switched off the AC - the breeze was really nice and if it was hot we could get into the pool. Second cottage was kind of living room with DVD, huge laid out sofa. There was of course nice pool on the edge of the hill and viewpoint terrace overlooking the sea. Bathroom is actually open, so there was waterfall like shower, etc. Really, really amazing place to stay, we wish we could stay longer but it was end of our trip in Thailand. Reception allowed us to check out a little later and that was also very nice of them. The only thing is that for us, travelling with 1,5 old daughter, such spacious area, pool, steps inside villa needed to make us extra attentive and careful where she is and what is she doing - but that's our - parents - responsibility. For some people need to climb up and go down to the beach might also be troublesome but then you can use room service and just
Very friendly staffs with fantastic view”
It was a very good time staying at View Point. All the staffs, both Myanmar and Thai, are very friendly and helpful. The garden view room I stayed was very clean with a simple but great design; I love a big balcony. There is a cliff view point with the superb sunset view. There is a pick up service from the pier as well (but you have to call to book prior you arrive). The restaurant was next to the sea, so the view there was great as well. Moreover the beach was clean and peaceful and there are snorkelling mask and kayak to rent with a reasonable price. The resort owner also really care about environment i.e. the restaurant used bamboo straw to reused. I would really love to visit Koh Tao and stay here again. All in all, View Point made my trip super awesome! ((:
Our stay at View Point Resort could not have been better. The entire resort is incredibly beautiful and the facilities blend into the natural scenery of the area. The beach was beautiful, the pool and lounge area overlooked the ocean. The restaurant food was incredible and the menu extensive, and the room service option was a nice touch. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to accommodate any of our needs during our stay. We highly recommend this resort to anyone visiting Koh Tao and would return to View Point Resort if visiting again.
We LOVED our stay at the View Point Resort. We decided to stay in one of the pool villas, and we loved the experience. Every part of the pool villa was like a dream. The hotel is in a very secluded part of Koh Tao, but it was still easy to walk to nearby shops. The hotel was also able to provide us with car service to Sairee Beach and other beaches around the island several times. We also needed to take the 6am ferry to Koh Samui, and the hotel provided free car service to the ferry at that early hour. The quiet location of the resort and attentive staff helped make our stay one of the highlights of our trip to Thailand!
Perfect get away!”
Make a decision to book at View Point Resort based on the outstanding reviews. Hotel is located in Chalok Baan Kao with a very nice beach suitable for honeymoon and family.
We absolutely loved our stay at viewpoint. We booked two Seaview cottages. They have a really interesting design and great balconies, with stunning views of the ocean. It was so pleasant to spend time there. Breakfast was great and we looked forward to it each day. Staff were friendly and helpful. There are steps but manageable for an able bodied person of average fitness. I felt that being away from the main town was a big plus. There is a free taxi service into Sairee three times a week but we only felt the need to use it once. You can also walk along the beach to the smaller town, chalok baan, it's very close. The restaurant is good with an extensive menu. I felt so calm and relaxed at the resort. You can spend your time relaxing by the pool or beach with a cocktail, or on the outside Thai mats, or you can go snorkelling right next to the resort. It's very quiet. The coral is dead near the beach, but if you go further around to the right there is live coral and lots of fish.
Perfect for relaxing ”
Accommodation: We had the sea view cottage above the swimming pool overlooking the bay of Chalok. Lovely view from the terrace and even from our bed. The cottage was beautiful designed and everything worked properly. You feel like living in a jungle as the cottages are surrounded by plenty of plants and trees. I loved it when I was here as a backpacker 10 years ago and I still love it now. As we arrived quite early with the first catamaran we were picked up by the hotel owned taxi service and could make an early check-in what was very kind as we had a pretty hard crossover. Restaurant: the included breakfast was a la carte during the first days and from dec 1st it changed to buffet. The buffet offered a greater choice of food, yet both was very good and high quality. You could taste the fresh ingredients and that some products were even homemade. I didn’t miss anything at all. After view point resort we changed to another resort on Koh Tao and really missed the fantastic breakfast. Now let’s come to a disappointing point. As the restaurant names itself a 5 star restaurant the service didn’t really correspond to what you expect from a 5 star restaurant. Many times they forgot to bring us something or in one case we did not get what we ordered although we were the only guests in the restaurant. Staff was rather paying attention to their smartphones than to their guests. Even the menu we had to ask for. The first day we did not know that we could order additional products as bread, jam, fruits, etc. apart from the breakfast meals you had to chose because the waitress didn’t explain anything. We even had to ask for a coffee and wondered whether hot beverages as coffee and tee was included or not. We missed the continuous music in the restaurant. Sometimes they played 1-2 songs and then it was silent again. Nevertheless they were always friendly and the quality of food was more important to us than the service.
We had the tropical seaview room with balcony and amazing view over Chalok Baan Kao Bay. We enjoyed swimming in the small beach area next to the resort. The restaurant and bar are currently being renovated until 15th Nov, so we were offered free room service for our meals. The long tail taxi boat services are very good.
Beautiful and peaceful place”
After spending a few days in Chewang (Koh Samui), we moved to this hotel in Koh Tao to get some peace and quiet. The resort is beautiful and the landscaping is amazing. It has its own view point. It is a 10 minutes walk to the main road by walking along the shore. There's a diving club right next door. We had a garden view room. It was cozy and clean. The staff were helpful and accommodating. The restaurant is a bit more expensive than others in town. However,it was excellent. The morning breakfast was OK. I would expect a better food selection for these resorts. I was disappointed to see the staff literally opened a can of baked beans and pour it in the heat dish. If you are looking for a beautiful peaceful place to relax, this is the place.
Perfect spot for relaxing in private atmosphere ”
we had booked the cheapest pool villa and it was an amazing experience! The interior was beautiful and all the small things were available. We slept great in the big and soft bed and the pool was just amazing! On arrival we were warmly welcomed with tea. We ordered all good on the "room"/ villa. Unfortunately sometimes it arrived cold and for the high price the main courses and desserts weren't international standard. For instance the beef tartar meat. The starters were all great, a little improvement would make the experience perfect: The chillax hut offered massages with a great view on the sea. The resort is very remote so when you want to go around you should maybe think of other hotels, too: but for just relaxing and spending most of the times in the "room". The viewpoint resort especially the pool villa is a very special place on koh Tao and just perfect for couples: we would always come back again!
Beautiful room with stunning views!”
View Point resort is such a beautiful place! We stayed in the deluxe garden room and it was exactly what we needed after a week staying on Sairee Beach. It is so peaceful lying on the balcony listening to the sounds of the jungle. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfy. The pool area is lovely looking out across Chalok. It is a short walk into Chalok (a bit of a trek during high tide but nothing major) where you will find lots of restaurants/ shops. I would 100% recommend View Point resort
View Point Resort is STUNNING!! My cousin and I were looking for a relaxing comfortable stay while in Koh Tao, and the View Point did not disappoint.. We stayed in Villa 7, which was amazingly beautiful that we immediately sent pics to our friends and family boasting lol.. I could not recommended this hotel highly enough. The staff are very accommodating, my birthday dinner at the restaurant was delicious and our villa was superb... I will definitely be staying here again.
great staying experience”
We had such great time staying at the View Point Resort. The staff were friendly and always willing to provide information and help. The sea view room we stayed was clean and comfortable with private balcony facing the beautiful blue sea and quiet beach on the very south west end of the island. The food in the hotel restaurant was good quality and delicately made. Overall, we enjoyed our time in Koh Tao greatly and would recommend the hotel to anybody who's going there.
Great Property in a Secluded Part of the Island”
View Point Resort is a wonderful spot on Koh Tao. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was tasty (although expensive…for Thailand), and the location of the property was perfect for privacy - yet only a 5 min walk to a cute little town. We spent most of our time on the small beach just off the property, but the pool was a great spot to lounge too. It wasn't the nicest beach that we went to during our vacation in Thailand - very small rocks as opposed to fine sand, and a section of the beach had some trash wash up - but it was still a nice spot to relax and get away from other people. Additionally, the small town close to the property had some great restaurants and places to pick up supplies, which allows you to save some cash. (However, the club sandwich and juices we had by the pool were definitely worth the price). The merchants there also don't hassle you to buy anything - unlike some of the places in Krabi and Koh Samui we visited. It was quite laid back. An added bonus is you have to walk along the beach and some improvised walkways to get to it. And while not close to Sairee beach, the hotel does provide a ride to it twice a week - my wife and I took it, and found it too busy. The staff were very helpful and friendly - from the front desk staff, to the waiters, to the maids, everyone was very well trained. While you can definitely find more reasonable accommodations, it's well worth the price if you want to be away from the hustle of Sairee.
Great location, with shortcomings”
On the plus side: beautiful location, perfect combination between nice view and beach access. There is a small beach next to the restaurant & pool area, easy to access from the sun beds of the resort, and great for swimming since it gets deep quickly (as opposed to the main beach in Chalok Bay which is very shallow). Pool & restaurant area is very nicely done. Pick up and drop off service to the pier saves quite a few baht (and they are very accommodating, picking us up from our previous hotel at Sairee beach instead of the pier). As for the negatives: food was average at best. I had ants in my breakfast oatmeal (!) and overall the breakfast was extremely poor for that type of establishment, absolutely not worth paying for it if not included in your room price (which it isn't if you stay less than two nights in the cottages, a rather strange policy for this kind of "upper class" hotel). The hotel is difficult if not impossible to reach by road but it is fairly easy to rent a motorbike in the village instead, parking it at one of the hotels along the main beach and walking to View Point Resort along the beach. Rooms are clean, but the Garden View Cottages are really small. "Garden View" actually means that you are in the midst of some kind of thick forest, with literally no view whatsover, not even over a garden - which is a shame given that there are tons of hotels with sea view for a lower price tag on the island.
