Too good to be true”
We booked only one night in advance and when we realised we wanted to stay more it was too late, the hotel was fully booked! But the staff were really helpful and found an option for us. Amazing view and interior. Perfect for those seeking solitude and calm rest. Lots of families with children. At least three beaches nearby. The only problem is that there's no exchange booth in the area and a 3% commission for a credit card pay, so you have to go to the village, but it's a 20-minute walk along the beach so no problem.
Beautiful views, amazing beach”
There is snorkeling right at the resorts beach, the sand is so soft and beach is very clean, rooms were very nice! And it’s only about a 25 minute walk to town or a quick 5 minute boat trip 100bht per person, boat doesn’t always run though, just keep that in mind! Other than that, it was a very beautiful secluded resort!
Amazing but some points to improve”
Some members of the staff were not very helpful but in general is okay. They have all drinks in the bar HOT, there was no way to have a cold beer or a cold bottle of water. A small can of Chang costs 70 Baths and they are unable to have it cold. Finally I took cans from my room's fridge and that was a lot nicer. Our room was quite expensive and no air conditioner, I knew while booking but I thought that ventilator could be good but it was not, it was like putting a twister inside the room, super noisy and you could not regulate power very well. The one on the selling was too far from the bed so I could not sleep very well due to the hot. On the other side, the private beach they have is amazing and we really enjoyed that. I would come back, but I would get a room with air for sure.
Exotic location...but a hike to get to room”
Amazing exotic location with amazing views...but...it was a climb just to get to rooms, some trails were actually dangerous, and my bungalow did not have A/C. So was not a nice sleep with just fans blowing. For some that might be ok for the views and uniqueness of the place.
Absolutely loved this place”
What a beautiful location and such comfy bungalows, it exceeded our expectations. We booked a standard room so I wasn’t expecting great comfort but I was wrong. Excellent quiet air con, comfy beds with wonderfully soft duvets and pillows. Chairs and a hammock on the balcony, fresh water in the fridge each day and all the little details like the large covered water bowl outside your door for cleaning feet, decorative rugs in the bungalow and on the balcony. The food in the restaurant was good and reasonably priced, the breakfast was excellent. Previous reviews had indicated the walk into town was arduous, we didn’t think that at all, an easy, 15-20 min stroll on a concrete path all the way in. Also Long beach a couple of minutes walk in the other direction. We wanted to stay longer but they were booked up so be warned!
If you want seclusion, this is the place”
It took us about 30 minutes walking to get to the centre of town (near ferry terminal). Bring study shoes or sandals to get through 200m of a forest path with stepping stones. We stayed in the older part of the resort (room 4), which has some land settling of the bungalow. So the foundation was tilted to one side and it was necessary to use the lock on the door to keep the door to the bungalow closed. It can be a problem if you're a couple locking each other out of the room. It was very tiny but had a great balcony with a hammock and space to dry any laundry. It does have its own washroom, but to wash your hands and take a shower, you had to go outside (hence the problem with locking your partner in/out of the bungalow). Bring bug spray! It is still a bit of a walk from the old part of the resort to the newer part where the reception is through some more uneven ground if luggage and disabilities are a concern. Free hourly boats to town depart reception area. 100 THB to return.
We stayed here for one night and found the place to be absolutely stunning. The beach is perfect.. Small and private.. Food was also amazing and priced appropriately. We were also given a free room upgrade which was a cherry on top! All services offered by this place are five star in quality. Highly recommended! A couple of points to note: the beach is a bit rocky during low tide. Also, you can avoid booking ferry tickets from the resort as they charge a premium.
Best hotel / bungalow in koh phi phi”
Nice view, amazing private beach, traditional bungalow, best services (boat trip, free testing, breakfast, welcoming, pleasant gift...). Perfect if you are looking for paradise, not in the city but at walking distance if you want to enjoy night life. Only 4* for the location due to several boats crossing in front, but not a issue for me. Everything else 5*! Enjoy your vacations!!!
Good location, good food”
We were very pleased to learn that we got a free room upgrade upon arrival. Our new room was STEPS from the beach with a partial ocean view! the private beaches were nice, the food was very good and not nearly as overpriced as the main part of town, and the staff was very friendly. Great spot in the jungle away from the noisy part of town- but close enough for a pleasant, but rugged, walk into town.
The beach is fantastic, the water is great but if you are not physically fit like me you may struggle with the uphill and downhill trek from your cottage to the beach/restaurant and reception area. Another pro is their free Thai food tastings from 7-8pm every night. What I really did not like is the wiring setup in my room. The AC, fridge, lights for the room, bath and shower and electric wall sockets are all connected in a series circuit. There's no way you could sleep with the AC on and your phone and cameras charging without turning off the lights. I couldn't sleep well even with an eye mask. This kind of electrical wiring is just dumb.
Fantastic beach and great value”
Loved the resort. Had quite a few steps to walk up which didn't bother us. We saw a snake on the way up to our room so be aware of the wildlife. Fantastic verandah in the standard room with bamboo furniture and a hammock. A twenty minute walk from all the action in tonsai or a quick taxi boat. We loved it and would return!
Cool Jungle Feel Bungalows ”
These are great bungalows in a secluded area. A little walk from town though (20-30 minutes). I would state that it is a moderately strenuous hike to town. Especially in the heat of the day. However, it’s a small price to pay to be away from the noise of the ‘party’ section. The private beach is a bit to be desired. It has a LOT of sharp rocks and unseen objects such as sea urchins. Long Beach is a bit of a walk over to the next beach and is SO much better. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone willing to walk a bit.
This is a heaven for people who love nature! I'd definitely come back here. 15 minutes walk to town, lovely views, private beaches, lovely atmosphere and good food in the hotel restaurant and not expensive! Not recommended for people with mobile disabilities though :(
One of a kind”
I only have one wish: To find similar accommodation in other tourist destinations we plan on going. It's a tourist spot in itself. I would pay to stay here even without the beach, just the woods. That's how awesome it is.
very nice view in a secluded area away from the busy tonsai pier and have a small private beach. loved the place. just a little bit inconvenient to get supplies due to the distance (30 mins walking in the woods, flip-flops doable). As many have said, after the free pick up from pier upon arrival, u gotta pay 100B one way to / from town with a limited schedule (e.g. check out is 11am but the next available trip out is 1230, I heard it's hourly after that but dunno till what time) but I guess that's the cost of being in a quiet place. generally a lovely place
Unique setting, lots of paths and climbing. My room was huge with and expansive balcony; the only drawback being lack of AC but that was not a huge issue. Good food at the hotel restaurant, not that there was a choice due to the location, but nonetheless very reasonably priced and with nightly features and tastings. Small beach which was very private and clean.
Great place with own private beach”
absolutely loved our stay here! you'll have your own beach!!! and next to the long beach which I believe is the best beach in Phi Phi. away from the crowds and parties.! 20 min walk to town. We highly recommend the resort. staff always helpful!! Thank you!!!
Great isolated resort, special and romantic”
Pros: isolated from the noisy phi phi, thus very good romantic hideaway for couples. Food tasting is a cool concept but poorly executed. Cons: some areas in the resort feel like a construction site or dump yard. Food tasting is a cool concept but poorly executed- small amount of food which runs out in 2-4 minutes with no one responsible for it.
We booked the grand delux with aircon very nice rooms with good views from both sides having a balcony on both sides. The only thing we could fault was lack of balcony futniture on front balcony and breakfast was ok not great. But be warned there is a steep climb up from reception
The Island Life”
This is some 10 minutes walk (the pathway lit @ night) from Phi-Phi's flea market/nightlife, so it's far enough from the partying crowds, but close enough to pop into Phi-Phi village. (although obese tourists may find this stroll strenuous; and not for wheelie suitcases). Chalets look rustic from the outside (with the obligatory hammock on the veranda etc.), but inside are fitted with a comfy bed (with mozzie net), en suite, aircon, bar refrigerator and TV. Mosquitoes were rabid upon arrival, but mysteriously disappeared at night. Viking Resort has it's own private beach, but Long Beach is just next door (i.e. further out of town), so the location is ideal for shopping/nightlife & beach bumming. Complementary long boats (fized times; check with Reception) will pick you up/drop you off at Tonsai Pier.
