value for Money - Vilarisi Legian.”
The Vilarisi Hotel in Legian, Bali is a nice hotel & good value for money. For the price it was all you could expect. Breakfast was included & was a good variety of fresh fruit, noodles, greens & potatoes. On top of that you can order eggs however you like them with bacon or sausage. We found the staff to be friendly & helpful & the facilities of the Hotel to be well kept. We had 2 rooms in our party & each were the same, clean & tidy with good strong, hot shower, though the room itself was a little drab to look at on entry. The pool was well kept, though no garden or grassed area surrounding it & generally shaded by the Hotel itself all day. The rooftop garden was a pleasant place to rest with a beer in the afternoon before heading out. For a budget Hotel The Vilarisi is adequate & fits the bill. It was quite popular with the Japanese & European tourists whose Dollar would have been much stronger than the Australian Dollar & so, much cheaper accommodation to them.
Great, friendly budget hotel”
This hotel is extremely cheap and that of course means the rooms are budget style, but great value for money. The aircons work, the safe room is secure and the exchange rate through the hotel to change money is almost the same as on the street. We stayed in a family room with 2 king beds. Plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 kids. The kids loved the kids pool, which is just as well as the main pool is very deep and not suitable for kids that cannot swim well. Halfway through our stay we decided to go to a more expensive resort with a kids club - DISASTER! The extra charges for kids club, food and other services was outrageous. So after one night we went back to Vilarisi and asked if we could have our room back. They were great and said it would be no problem, so back to the budget hotel we went! Travelling with extended family meant we had 3 rooms at the Vilarisi and at times I am sure the staff thought we were insane with all the room swapping, key changing and crying/laughing we did, but they were always happy to accomodate our requests. By the way - no evidence of room/door tampering mentioned in another review I have read.
Good location ”
Overall, enjoyed the Vilarisi. Our friends recommended it to us as a nice basic hotel in a good location. And it is. Walking distance to shops and good restaurants. We ate frequently at the restaurant for lunch or dinner, the food is good value. We have gone to Bali three times, stayed in a few different hotels. The mosquitoes at vilarisi are a problem, the hotel provides little electric citronella repellent things, they make a difference but definitely bring your own aeroguard. The shower was hot or cold, not in between, so we had baths during our stay. The pool is very clean, it's unfortunate it does not catch the sun throughout the day. Our TV was dodgy, it would turn itself on and off, and go mute on its own, and sometimes we received channels and other times not. Not many english channels. We saw another room had a new flat screen TV so maybe they are upgrading gradually? Also, at the vilarisi the staff don't tell you if you have messages waiting for you. You have to go to the desk and check. The staff are friendly though. Breakfast was basic but adequate - fruit (pineapple, rockmelon or watermelon), fried rice, crackers, stirfry veg, sometimes soup, salad, juice, tea/coffee, eggs however you want, toast. Also there is no in-room safe, but one in the reception. Room was clean.
clean & ecoomical”
Thouroughly enjoyed the Vilarisi, Rooms are clean with enough space. Hotel staff helpful and friendly. Great location for shopping in legian, Close to Kuta (south) & close to Seminyak (north). Best part is location to "Coffee Corner" -best coffee in Bali.
Great Place To Stay. Trev & Mary. Perth”
We are from Perth and have been to Bali a total of 17 times now since 1984. Vilarisi would have to one of the best discount Hotels we have stayed at over this period of time. We cannot fault anything, the staff are friendly and very efficent. The resturant serves good quality food at very affordable prices. They also put on a excellent breakfast which was included in our tariff. The hotel is located in a good area with everything you need close by. We are planning to return to Bali in June 2010 and will be staying at the Vilarisi Hotel again. Please ignore the other redicalous comments that we have read on this web page. Vilarisi is a very pleasant place to stay plus great value for your money.
It was Nice, very nice. I've had never been here before. I was came as a single traveler. The hotel is clean, the room is quite big (i took superior), the price is perfect! Beside of the dirty tableclotch, what i liked most is the hospitality and friendly staff!! But over all, i really had a great holiday by staying at Vilarisi Hotel. Definitely I will be back!!
lovely hotel with friendly service”
we like staying at the vilarisi as it is only a short walk to jalan padma or jalan legian so you can get a taxi for whichever way you want to go.the food is cheap and very good and the service is very good with no complaints.the pool is at the back and enclosed by the hotel and a high fence so the result is a cool pool.the rooms are quite big and cool with a bar fridge and coffee facilities.
One Night at the Vilarisi Hotel”
My fiancee and I arrived at the Vilarisi Hotel at night, it was good to find the hotel was simple but clean and well-kept. It wasn't till the morning however, that the beauty of the hotel, with its rustic Balinese exterior reminiscent of ancient temples became apparent. Checking in was swift, the staff gracious and polite, even at the late hour of my arrival. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We slept well before heading to breakast at the restaurant. The breakfast was decent, not fantastic. Then it was off to the airport for our flight to Lombok. All in all, the Vilarisi Hotel is a reasonably nice hotel. Close enough to the airport.
Good value for money”
The hotel is located in a lane between Jalan Legian, Jalan Melasti and the beachroad. From there shopping areas, beach and nightlife are easy to reach. Staff is friendly and efficient, room is big, AC works good, fridge exists, balcony too. Room was bright and clean and was made up everyday. Breakfast got a small but nice buffet. Overall I had an enjoyable stay in Vilarisi :-)
Hotel yang menarik”
great hotel in a strategic location for shopping, night entertainment and not so far from beach. clean room. very helpful staff. if i were to be in bali again, definitely i will choose vilarisi hotel again :)
how we found hotel Vilarisi Bali”
The stay in Vilarisi hotel was very good. The hotel was very quiet. The rooms were good , big enough with good a.c. The breakfast was for European people very poor only eggs or jam. Have bought ourselves several things. For Asian people there were a lot of things. Staff was very friendly. The rooms were cleaned very well. For the price quality its a good hotel.
Friendliest staff in Bali”
My stay at Vilarisi was once again brilliant. I have been to Bali more than 20 times in the last 10 years, but Vilarisi is the only hotel I have stayed at more than once. The moment you walk in you are greeted with the most friendly staff in Bali at the reception desk. Nothing is too much trouble and service is fast and done with a most genuine smile. I love the staff! Hotel is well priced and great value for money. Very peaceful, smaller hotel, reduced variety for breakfast, sometimes you need to remind them to restock the Bain Marie, but you can order eggs, bacon, grilled tomato at the counter before you sit down. Great deluxe and family rooms overlooking the pool.
good service and the staffs are helpful”
i stayed for Vilarisi for a week. It's give me a good holiday and the staffs are really nice and helpful. When i leave the hotel, they helped me to call a taxi to airport, but i leave my passport in the taxi when i get off. So i go back to the Hotel for help. They help me to call the taxi company, and finally i got my passport.I am really want to say thankyou to the staffs for giving me a great help.Thankyou Vilarisi!!!
Better than expected”
The Vilarisi was far better than the reviews we had read about it. Although only a 2 star rating, the rooms were excellent, clean and bright. Staff were very helpful, happy and efficient in their work. Pool area was uninviting and stark. Rooftop garden lacked seating and shade but panoramic view of Kuta/Legian/ocean was great. 10 day stay.
Worth for Value's Hotel”
I will stay again at this hotel in future. With the prices we paid, it is really worth for value for everyone. I will suggest to others to stay at this hotel if they are travelling to Bali in future. The hotel is near to the legian/kuta beach within 10 minutes by walking and if you want to enjoy the night life in Bali , this hotel also near to those happening clubs and restaurant to you to hang around. The food provided by This hotel are nice and the pricing also reasonable. You may could take lunch and dinner in the hotel.
Great Location and Great room!”
we have stayed at 2 other hotel in ubud and vilarisi is the third in legian. it seems to us that our hotel is getting better and better and vilarisi provides the most comfort and convenience with its strategic location as well as a bright and spacious room that is well furnished with basic necessities.
My stay there was great and comfortable. ”
My stay there was short sweet. The bed was really comfortable. The internet connection was fast too. The staff there were really friendly and helpful. I highly recommend staying at Vilarisi Hotel.
A great little hotel close to everything you need”
We have stayed at Vilarisi quite a few times now, and always lok forward to going back as everything to service to location is spot on for us. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. We find it a pleasure to stay at Vilarisi.
Decent Value Hotel - But You MUST Read This !!”
My partner and I stayed at The Vilarisi for one week during August 2009. First up, I will give you what I consider to be the positive aspects of the hotel, and then I will outline the shortcomings as I perceived them: The Good: The room was nicely presented and reasonably clean and tidy. The airconditioner, while not amazing, was effective and kept the room at a nice temperature. Room service and housekeeping was prompt and well performed. The food at the hotel restaurant was both tasty and very reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and helpful for the most part, and we had no real problems getting them to help us with any of our queries. The bed was comfortable, the shower was good and hot, and there was no noticeable smell in the bathroom as some other reviewers have mentioned. The Bad: As with any hotel, there are always going to be points which fail to satisfy. We booked this hotel knowing very well that it is a budget hotel, and our expectations were set at a reasonable level. In all fairness, the only failing points that struck me were that the hotel could do with some better lighting, especially in the stairwell and main lobby areas, which are a bit gloomy for the most part. The elevator could also do with a good service, as it seems to lose its logic from time to time, traveling to the wrong floor and doing all manner of strange things. We also got stuck in it on one occasion, but thankfully the logic system managed to rectify itself after about ten minutes of cajoling it with manual door manipulation and frenzied button pressing. Another area of mild frustration was the lack of language skills the majority of the staff seemed to have. I got the feeling that much of the time, they were nodding and smiling politely whilst having no earthly idea what I was saying to them.
Overall, my stay here was comfortable. Located in the heart of the Kuta/Legian area, close to main streets, Vilarisi provides good value for the money. Its proximity to everything you need makes it even more attractive! When I checked in, the bathroom was not clean, but the front desk staff promptly requested housekeeping to clean the bathroom, all the while apologizing profusely. I won't mind staying there again.
