Very loud voice of Chinese people ”
Great place to stay , close from everything you need. The room is always very clean , the bed is nice to sleep on . The hotel building is still new . The staff are nice . The breakfast is just simple but it’s ok . but there are sooooo many Chinese stay in this hotel too . If your are not aware of the Chinese very loud voice better you chose to stay in another hotel

Staff not honest”
We are group of 18 ppl. We booked the Full day tour include kayaking, blue lagoon. Staff in hotel was not honest in Price. They asked us to pay Kip30,000 more then normal.

Great Hotel with spectacular view”
We are very happy about our stay at the Vilayvong Hotel. Unfortunately we booked the room just for one night, we would like to stay longer, cause the view from our balcony was amazing. I think there is no better place. We were able to see the wonderful mountains with their amazing rainforrest, also the river with its wooden bridge. Even our guestroom and the bathroom were clean. With the huge window and the view out of the bed upon the Mountains it was hard to stand up. ;) If I will come back to Vang Vieng, I will book this Hotel especially Guestroom 402!

A cheap hostel slightly outside the center”
The hotel is actually rather (for Vang Vieng) a big hostel mainly aimed at backpackers. It, however, has a number superior rooms where we stayed. The location is somewhat to the south from the most popular pubs and restaurants (10 min walk). The room was clean and spacious. There was a balcony with a magnificent view of the river and surrounding mountings. Unfortunately there was no furniture in the room and the bathroom equipment was in rather a poor state. The breakfast was simple (eggs in different forms with baguette/butter and a drink) but good. The wi-fi worked well. Overall the hotel has an excellent value for money.

The view, the view...”
The view is the most important thing about this hotel. You feel like being in Halong Bay in Vietnam or in Guilin in China with all the limestone mountains. There are other hotels which may be up to 10 $ cheaper, but their balconies are smaller and the view is not as stunning. I took a look at some other hotels but preferred to stay at the Vilayvong. Moreover, the breakfast is good compared to other Asian localities. Reception desk staff asked for higher prices than on Agoda. Cleaning staff very friendly and helpful. If I ever return to Vang Vieng I will stay at the Vilayvong.

Good value for money, great views !”
This was a nice quiet guesthouse located on a side street of Vang Vieng and away from the noisy bars. We had a top floor room with a view to die for, overlooking the river and mountains. Pros: very large room, very large bathroom and a balcony with a lovely view. Centrally located yet quiet and close to the river, free wifi and breakfast. All staff we encountered were friendly although some issues with English communication Cons: there are two reception areas - one down a driveway and one on the main street. We didn't know about the one on the main street so waited at the one down the driveway for eternity before someone showed up. Better signage would help. Free wifi, but the signal is not strong, breakfast is pretty 'basic' and the towels have seen better days. Overall value for money score - 8/10. For $26 a night for a large double its fantastic value for money. You kind of forgo any right to complain at that price !

This hotel was great. It was a great value. It was a 5 minute walk city center. The view was amazing, and very close to where all of the kayaking ends. The breakfast was ok. I stayed longer because i really enjoyed this hotel. The City is small, but has some great outdoor activities you can do in the water mountains. I will stay here again next time i go to Vang Vieng. They have lockers by the front reception desk where you can lock your valuables. This was kind of sketchy to me but I used the system and did not have any problems. I just had to carry my computer and cameras to the front desk everytime i went in and out. At least the storage locker is monitored with cameras and staff.

A rocky start but enjoyable stay”
Initially our room was not available due to over booking. We were put in a hotel adjacent to Vilayvong for one night and after some bargaining we were refunded the additional money that we had paid for the initial room and then put in the correct room the following day. The second night was much more comfortable and had a great view. We enjoyed the rest of our stay. The hotel is in a good location within walking distance of most of the nightlife of Vang Vieng

The Hotel Villayvong was situated well, being just beyond the main noisy part of Vang Vieng city centre. My accomodation was a bungalow style in pleasant garden surroundings. The room itself was good, with air-conditioning and a large bathroom, and balcony overlooking the garden. Unfortunately the internet reception was not good in the bungalows and could really only get good internet within the hotel itself. The room also was never serviced in the week that I was there, with toilet paper being left outside occasionally. The breakfast was average, with the feeling that it was just enough to qualify as breakfast. I don't know whether I would stay here again...

Decent value for price in Vang Vieng where options are limited if you are looking for something mid-range. Best things about Vilayvong were the view from our patio - beautiful spot to watch a quiet, peaceful sunset and the nearby Cafe Eheh- best coffee in town. Otherwise the room was pretty standard for Asia.

a little disappointed coz the staff didnt understand my inquiry regarding my change of date so they put me in the bungalow instead of the hotel which is where i booked my room.i said that i will arrive a day earlier but they move it a day after my arrival. when they realized their mistake they just laugh it off. no sorry or whatsoever. i only got a day in vang vieng so i just moved on rather than ruin my vacation ;(

OK hotel, in a quiet part of town.”
Good/cheap accommodation is hard to find in Vang Vieng and this hotel was OK. it is opposite a school and hospital so it is not too noisy at night (other hotels in V V have noise problems because of the partying at night.) Rooms were clean.

This town is aweful”
Our stay in Vang Vieng was overall bad, there is nothing to do there but get drunk and watch Friends at these weird restaurants. The view of the karst mountains from our room was the best thing about our stay, and they have a decent breakfast. If I was forced to go to this town again I would stay at this hotel, but overall this town was full of college age kids getting hammered and being obnoxious. We couldn't wait to leave.

I stayed here for two nights and left to go to another guesthouse because this place is bad value for money. I had booked a room at this guesthouse because they advertised views of the mountains and river. For $20 I got a view of a road and a car park. The staff are not particularly friendly or helpful and there are no endearing elements to this place at all. I changed accommodation and for less than $10 I got a view of the river and mountains. Vang Vieng is a cheap place where you can get new, clean, and comfortable rooms for $10 or less. Don't go to this place as you're being ripped off. It's nothing special at all.

OK, but not fantastic value”
There was a lot of building work going on around the hotel when we stayed there, so not the peaceful haven we were looking for. Breakfast was disappointing to say the least - instant coffee and a dry pancake were the only things available for us. There are loads of hotels around Vang Vieng, by shopping around I'm sure it would be easy to find something a bit more value for money.

Our room was not ready when we arrived as the previous occupants had not vacated the room. The hotel manager arranged for us another room at a hotel close by. this hotel was of equal standard and run by a local family who were extremely attentive. As compensation the manager of Hotel Vilayvong placed into a room with best view available in that hotel. as compensation
