Wonderful Hotel in Columbo
Charming hosts who are most kind and helpful. We stayed a month and found it to be a perfect hotel. You felt part of the family and saw what it was like to live in Sri Lanka. Kusum is also a tour guide who took us all around the island as well as a city tour. The breakfasts were unfailingly good with all fresh ingredients. We had a stunning balcony overlooking a rice paddy, right in the suburbs of Columbo. Monkeys visited our yard often and we fed them bananas. The family all made us feel welcome. We would return to Villa 63 when next we are in Sri Lanka.

Brilliant!
What a lovely guesthouse and great customer service. We were given a large room that had a large en suite bathroom and large private balcony. Fantastic - really helped us enjoy our Columbo stay. Breakfast was fresh and very nice with fresh fruits, toast, omelette etc. Don't let the distance from Colombo town centre put you off or you'll miss such a nice guesthouse.........it was just refreshingly nice! The owners deserve praise. Here is some useful info: Take bus 120 for around 34 rupees to the location. It may take 30 - 45 mins depending on traffic. Get off at the Laugfs Supermarket sign in yellow that is situated at a major crossroads. The 120 passes Colombo Fort frequently maybe every 15 mins. The guesthouse I'd down a lane about 20meters from Laugfs. Go down to end of lane turn left at end and there are metal gates - that's it. ( you will have to look for the lane initially as it's not obvious) Enjoy your stay!

Perfect stay!
Very nice family, the little son of the family is really nice, helpful and good in English. Super (various) breakfast. Clean and beautiful room and bathroom. Colombo Citycenter can be easily reached by bus, which stops nearby. Only thing we missed in our room was the mosquitonet (but we saw, that the other rooms all have one - so ask for a room with a net!). Would stay there again - perfect start for our Sri Lanka-Trip! Thanks a lot!!

Do not hesitate to stay here
Everything about this guesthouse was good. Friendly offer of a cup of tea on arrival, enormous room with fan and excellent bathroom, my own private and very large terrace, a three course breakfast in the garden including a beautiful fruit salad. Friendly family, definitely a great place to stay and return to again. For an extra 750 rupees, I had an enormous, delicious home cooked dinner. Well worth it! I recommend this place without any hesitations

Peace in the chaos!
Room, staff, food
Once we had sussed out where the accommodation was getting to and from Colombo by bus was very easy, the 120 takes you from Colombo fort to a bus stop right next to the lane you have to walk down to reach the accommodation. There was so much wildlife to see over the back wall of the house...water buffalo, monkeys, Palm squirrels and lots of birds it was tranquil compared to the city chaos! The food was amazing cooked by the family and the owner spoke fab English!

Huge, clean, peaceful stay
Fresh fruit for breakfast, size and cleanliness of the room, low key hosts
My husband, daughter and I had a nice stay in a huge 2 bedroom suite. The owners are very pleasant and besides one very low key offer to book accommodation for our onward Sri Lankan travel, we only had brief, pleasant interaction at the lovely included breakfasts during our stay. We had fresh fruit (yay!), coffee/tea, bread, and a different egg dish each morning with a bit of tomato (because we avoid overly processed foods, we opted out of the mini sausages that were also included). Breakfast was served in a lovely quiet garden space with the sound of birds and sometimes, the sight of a monkey family! The location was just south of Colombo proper, but near a great local restaurant, grocery, etc. Plenty of tuk-tuks, and uber drivers, and a local bus, which we didn't try this trip. There were mosquitoes, of course, as the construction is a very open indoor/outdoor style. I wish the 2nd bedroom had a mosquito net. The main bed had one and it was quite needed.

Good locatoin and nice room
Big room, good breakfast, friendly host
It was a bit hard to find but we felt welcome and the room was large and with nice balcony. Location is fine, there's several restaurants near and the city center is easily reached with local bus (number 120). The airport transportation is available by the owner, but way overpriced. Prefer a taxi, it shouldn't cost no more than 2500 Rs (18 USD). Unfortunately the guests next room were quite loud during the night, but otherwise the neighborhood was peaceful. There's nice running route around the lake just across the road. The room wasn't superclean but ok. Breakfast was tasty, even that is wasn't Sri Lankan food but English style. The owner was friendly and greatly helped out to make plans and catching trains and buses. Overall nice place to stay, but nothing special.
