Our favorite place to stay in Mexico City.”

This is at least the 3rd time we've stayed at Villa Alfonsina because it is a very comfortable lodging in a perfect location. This is more like an airbnb in that it is part of a residence; a historic home located right across the street from Casa Azul. The owners are very nice, the wifi is great, tap water is filtered and potable, and basically it's a place with a historic feel, but with modern amenities. We will always stay here when visiting CDMX, if possible.
We have no complaints. Others should know this is not a hotel with housekeepers. If you need something, you can ask the owners, but they won't come in to clean up after you every day. We like it that way.

Beautiful, comfortable, friendly host and perfect location.”

This is our second time staying at Villa Alfonsina and it will be our first choice when visiting CDMX from now on. This is more like an airbnb than a hotel and the hosts are very nice. From the outside, the place is a fortress, but inside it is a historic home with gorgeous architectural features. The guest rooms were added later and are modern inside with hot showers and filtered water. There are plenty of outlets and a t.v. with streaming services. Our room was not large, but was big enough and has a closet and drawers for storing belongings. Best of all, the location is perfect. Coyoacan is our favorite neighborhood in CDMX and the house is across from Casa Azul, where Frida Kahlo lived. It's 2 blocks to the centro, where there are many options for food, two mercados, and a fun atmosphere.
No complaints. I can't think of one thing.

This is the best place I got to stay during my whole trip in Mexico (for a total of 3 weeks). The owners of Villa Alfonsina are tremendously gentle, the rooms are provided with everything you need for your stay and there is a small kitchen with tea and coffee also provided by the owners. I am so thankful for this stay and I really hope to come back to DF and will definitely stay again in Villa Alfonsina!!

A very beautiful and comfortable hotel. It is located in a quiet location of Mexico City. The hotel owner is very friendly and speaks very good English. There is no breakfast, but a small kitchen can be used. In the neighbourhood there are many restaurants and bakeries.

A priceless night's sleep!”

(6 day stay - solo F traveller) The number one reason to stay here is the great energy which you feel on arrival and leads to a great night's sleep. Very comfortable bed and room + a bright, airy terrace. The family living here are very kind and attentive. Thank you Hector, Minerva. It's diagonally opposite Miss Frida's house so it is very easy to find in a cab. There's lovely sushi restaurants in walking distance. One of the best places I've stayed in Mexico and happy to return.
No access to the kitchen facilities right now, but in your room - there's a fridge, coffee maker, and microwave.

This property is across the street from Frida Kahlo House. Walking distance to Mercado Coyoacan and el Centro. Such an authentic Mexican experience. Coyoacan has wonderful vendors on the weekend during day of the Dead celebrations. Fantastic to visit then. The bed and linen at this hotel were the best I have experienced in Mexico! Thank you.

Location is great, very close and convenient to so many things. Hector and his mom were very lovely. My room was on the ground floor at the end of the driveway but it still felt very private. WiFi was reliable, tv with roku ( hbo max, Amazon prime, Netflix) and next door was the shared kitchen with free coffee pods. Bathroom was spacious and room was very comfortable. Really enjoyed my stay. Highly recommend!

Stay here. It's the best. Seriously.”

This was my favorite lodging of our entire month-long trip through MX! We are Frida Kahlo fans and the location is literally across the intersection from Casa Azul/the Frida Kahlo Museum. We had tickets for the museum and were able to just walk across the street, and it was nice to imagine her walking the same sidewalks and markets we walked. But the house itself is really lovely and the hosts are sweet, friendly and helpful. It's only a couple of blocks to cafes, restaurants, the mercado, the park, etc. Coyoacan is our favorite area of Mexico City. It feels like a cozy neighborhood, and a great mix of historic and modern. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to MX City.
The only thing I can think of is that we didn't know how to dispose of our garbage. We could have just asked, though. They don't do daily housekeeping like a standard hotel. This feels more like an airbnb. But otherwise, we loved this place and have no complaints.

Gem just next to the Frida Khalo Muséum”

Amazing place, the villa looks beautiful and everything is available in the room to make you comfortable. The location could not be better it is literally on the corner of the Frida Khalo Muséum and close to all the good places in Coyoacan. On the top of that, the owners are wonderful, Hector and his parents have been so nice to us, really easy to communicate with, and super helpful. I could not recommend that place more! And the value for money is just great.

Great location”

I loved the old bohemian and tranquil feeling of Coyoacan neighborhood. Villa Alfonsina is a guest house right across the street from Frida Khalo house, it’s about one block from the Market where you can find good places to eat breakfast and lunch and about 7-10 minutes walk to the main plaza, cathedral restaurants and shops. Spacious, clean and comfortable room, traditional feeling, easy and cheap to call uber to go anywhere around the city and great owners. Would recommend it and definitely will stay there again on my next trip to Mexico.

Perfect location Coyoacan”

Perfect location across from the Frida Kahlo museum and a few minutes walk to tons of restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, ice cream, parks, and bars. All of the water on the property is filtered so you can drink directly from the tap! The bed was so comfortable and the room was so quiet that I slept all night without waking up once! I would love a coffee maker and mini fridge in the room, but at least there were coffee shops nearby.

Hector is very kind! He is fluent in English if you don't know Spanish that well. There was a kitchen and a washer/ dryer available for guests. The rooms were very cute, ours had a nice skylight. The shower was really nice! The outdoor guest area had a seating area in the shade but you could pull chairs over into the sun if you wanted, a perfect outdoor seating space. This hotel was the best as far as location! Right across the street from the Frida Kahlo museum and right down the street was the Coyoacan market. Thank you Hector for everything!

Best time in Coyoacan”

Hector and his family are the warmest hosts. The place is beautiful the rooms so comfortable and very conveniently located to all the goings on around outside. The pictures are deceiving as the rooms are way nicer than portrayed online.

Perfect location for visiting Mexico City”

The location in Coyoacan is perfect, the main street to all the restaurants and markets as well as the main square is right infront of the Hotel. The Frida Kahlo museum is right around the corner too. Moreover, Hector gave us awesome tips for what to do in the area and recommended us the best restaurants and cafes around.

Very well designed place, owned and operated by a lovely family. Just across the street from the Frida Museum, literally. A lot of nice touches, like extremely soft blankets and bed, kitchen with coffee and tea, tv with Netflix, soap and shampoo in the bathroom, and washer/dryer with detergent available. I recommend this place.
