Favorite Stay in Bali”
Sevice, view, room
It's the best. The 1 bedroom is an independent cottage with the view of rice field, where we luckily saw fireflies at night. It feels very close to the nature there. The staffs are the most considerate and helpful, the villa is perfect because of them. The location is not convenient though, the staffs will arrange shuttle bus for you when you want. In all, time is enjoyable and relaxing there.

Quite a let down!”
Friendly, Efficient, and Kind Staff
Terrible! The room is terribly designed. No insect screens mean that one has a simple choice: either get eaten fully or partially by little critters. In the evening there is no choice but to close all the glass sliders, which means no fresh air, and none of the pleasantries of living amidst paddy fields, such as the sound of temple bells or of the birds. However, all that closing these doors achieves is to filter out some of the insects, for there are enough holes for others to get through. Amazingly, the room does not have a desk and a chair to write on. It lacks basic furniture such as bedside tables. It does not even have a couch. All one can do is sit on the bed. Above are Geckos which call out to each other all night. When one wakes up in the morning, there are Gecko droppings everywhere. The only shower is outside, so when it rains, one can say goodbye to a warm shower. There is a tub, but it is full of insects by evening. This is all well if on a camping trip; but for a comfortable family holiday, it is hell. I chose this place based on the reviews, and can't even imagine if these people stayed here a night. The one real positive is the quality of the staff. They are genuine. They care. They are absolutely wonderful. Staff are about the best I have encountered, and this fact made me pause before I wrote this. However, this review is needed. Until they get their act together, I warn anyone from staying at Aruna however looks great.

SERVICE
If you like village town or like to live in a very peaceful place, this hotel must be your first-rate choice.Although it's about 15mins drive to the downtown, but this hotel only have 2 rooms plus a villa, especially the villa, face to the wheats field, we can sit outside the house and enjoy the fireflies fly around.

Great stay! ”
Beautiful house in the middle of rice terraces!
We have already been to Villa Aruna last year and liked it a lot. Basically it is huge villa with only three rooms, in the middle of nowhere. In case you consider to stay there make sure you have you own transportation. We loved it because it was quite and very romantic! The staff is also doing a great job! We are looking forward to our next stay!

Nice location but in need of some attention”
Quiet and romantic location
I chose the hotel based on the good reviews here on Agoda and was disappointed by cleanliness. The pictures looked nice but the whole place is very very dusty. My girlfriend had allergic reaction during the whole time we stayed in there. I'm not allergic to dust but I also could see/feel it. Aside from that, the location/view is good and very remote (half an hour ride by motorcycle to Ubud center). Unfortunately, there's also some temple in the vicinity which makes the place very noisy from 6pm-8pm. Breakfast was ok but no other food served. Overall, I would not go to this place again and would suggest the owner to hire at least 2 more cleaning staff since the whole place was run by only one staff (friendly but overchallenged with all the duties).

Remote paradise for drivers and nature lovers”
Enchanting and comfortable villas, attentive staff.
This villa is really quite remote and difficult to get to and you should definitely get a local driver to take you there. However once you get there, the hotel staff will happily arrange for a driver to take you to Ubud at your preferred time for 60,000 IDR. Driving time from the villa to Ubud center is about 15 minutes, and I definitely recommend driving or hiring a driver if you're staying here. But other than the location, Villa Aruna is easily one of the most enchanting villas I've stayed in. The villas are very spacious and my 1 room villa came with a huge and comfortable king size bed, jacuzzi, outdoor shower (really nice in the day) and an outdoor kitchenette. There was WIFI in our room too. The villa does not have its own restaurant but the staff will gladly order food from a nearby restaurant for you and lay the table for you right outside your room so you can enjoy the view of the rice fields or moonlight while having your meal. I have to say that hotel staff are extremely attentive and incredibly nice. We removed the mosquito repellent from the plugs near our bed in order to charge our laptops, and the next day I returned to the villa to find that the hotel staff had set up the repellent somewhere else in the room so we can continue using the plugs nearest to our bed while being protected by mosquitos. The villa is surrounded by nature so I expected a lot more bugs and mosquitos (I attract mosquitos like crazy) and was surprised that we mostly only had the occasional lone lizard in the room. I have no idea how they do it. The room was also way cleaner than I expected for a place so surrounded by nature and with a semi-outdoor bathroom. I'm deathly afraid of insects and yet I would definitely return to this villa next time I'm in Ubud. Highly recommended it to those who enjoy quiet and privacy!

It was a very very pleasant stay in Aruna”
Nice staff, clean, quiet & cool, close to nature
My family stayed in Villa aruna for four days and it was an amazing experience for all of us since the environment was very qiuet, the staf are very helpful and freindly. The villa was huge and very comfortable. Thought it's far from center of ubud, you would not feel that you want to leave it. Mika and his team gave us very professional and warm service to make us feel like home. The village people there are also very friendly and nice too. All in all it would be a remarkable memory during our trips.

Amazing villa in Ubud”
super friendly owner and staff. nice view, very quiet
Villa Aruna is the most wonderful place I've ever stayed in Bali! There are only 2 villas so it's very quiet and peaceful. We stayed in the one level villa which has amazing view just in front of our doorstep! You must get up at about 5am in mooring if you want to know what the real haven looks like! The owner of villa Aruna Mika is very friendly. When we told him we are looking for a place for our wedding in Bali, he helped us to find few nice places and contact with them for us! Breakfast is good! Will come back again!

Great service, beautiful villa. The guys really take care of every need. The villa is not walking distance to town, but the villa offers a driver for when you want to go in to town for IDR. 60k one way. So not horrible. Bring some mosquito coils is the only thing. Great place though, should totally be on your shortlist!
