Well maintained heritage hotel”
The look and feel of the hotel is pretty great. It is pretty much a restored old French villa which is maintained exceptionally well. The rooms have a touch of colonial French feel to it. The hotel is right on the main beach in Pondy and located at an ideal place for a stroll out on the beach or a walk along the streets of the heritage town. Stay was quite comfortable and the staff were good enough. Would definitely recommend this place.

My first visit and pleasant stay at Pondicherry ”
First of all who would not like to wake up to see the beach first thing in the morning and last thing in the night? Staying here you get to go to the beach as and when you feel like add it's just free steps away only 😍 talking about the rooms at the villa which is more than 200 years old I must say it cannot be maintained any better than this. They are truly protecting the Heritage. Ajay Gupta , Naveen are two amazing people you'll get to meet as soon as you check in . They take a lot of care make sure you're comfortable and happy at the same time. And not to forget Virendra Patel ji who owns the villa talks to everybody with lots of smiles 🙂🙂🙂🙂 having lived in the villa for 70 years now 👌.

Truly Vintage property by the sea”
Pros 1) Location (It's next to the secretariat and most places of interest like Museum/Aurovindo Ashram/Gandhi statue/French War Memorial/Church are within walking distance) 2) It's a beautiful property built in colonial style with high ceiling and vintage furnitures too 3) Great value for the location and rooms 4) Lush green interiors Cons 1) No parking (you can park near the rear gate as we did but they don't have a separate parking) 2) No meals (except the complimentary breakfast; wish they at least have a coffee/tea dispensing machine) 3) Rooms are quite variable in size and location (so on a crowded weekend as we went you may or may not turn out to be lucky to get a sea view room) The doors close and open at a particular time but I don't think that causes any nuisance as the staff is friendly enough to open the gates for you (if required) Overall would definitely recommend it!!!

4 day stay @ Villa Bayoud”
Our stay was 'okay'. Villa Bayoud is a nice hotel on the promenade in French Town. We stayed in room #9 where we faced issues like: inaccessible wifi, noisy a/c, creaky old TV which plays only regional Tamil channels (even Nat Geo n Discovery channels had Tamil voice over!), someone knocking the door at around 11pm! The advantages are that this hotel is bang in the middle of promenade and is close by to most attractions in Pondy. Overall I'd give a 6 on 10 rating.

Perfect stay for a quick weekend”
Our stay was quite comfortable. People at the hotel were quite friendly. The range of the breakfast could be a bit more than just bread and omlette but that seems to be the speciality. Beach is just a gate away. Shower knob had some issues but it didn't really matter. Over all a peaceful stay.

Great location but the everything else is very very substandard ”
The only good thing about this place is it is situated on the beach road, Apart from this fact everything about this place is very ordinary and substandard, not so value for money. It is managed by staff of 2-3 people, and they lock down the gates by night 11 or so. so If you come back late..they won't open the door, good luck with sleeping on the beach or in the car. I have stayed at countless hotels but either you don't serve breakfast or you do..if you do..it's definitely worth something. In here you are served, 2 slices of toast bread, an omlette and coffee/tea. Rooms are pretty basic and sometimes poortly maintained, especially washrooms. Lack of cleanliness is apparent. Lot of people can put up with this kind of hotels, but I strongly feel that value for money can be improved.

Wonderful location but pathetic service ”
The stay was very pleasant due to its wonderful location on the sea beach. Pls select sea facing room. What I didnt like is the service provided by the staff. There was a very basic breakfast of 2 items (omlette and cereals) which would repeat itself every day. Secondly the staff was very ambiguous when asked about dinner/lunch service. For some customers, they were providing food but for me, they said no we will not provide food service.

Stay was pleasant but not outstanding, needs some personal touch and service, Staff did minimum, without a eye for detail, Hotel needs trained staff for cleaning, ie bathrooms had allgiee, tarrace area needs cleaning daily, The hotel has great potential if a little investment and commitment, currently it's just ticks over with basic amity, ie breakfast is toast tea and eggs, 60 rupees, had to pay extre for a kettle in room ! With some investment this could be a gold mine, needs a women's touch, The staff are stal, furniture in bedroom just adequate, doors on cupboard missing, room 11 great room, needs cleaning, curtains needs cleaning floor needs cleaning, tarrace needs washing, lovely court yard, but not utilities efficiently, afternoon tea and coffee and snacks would be good, but the bed sheets were changed daily, would stay for the location,

Slightly over-priced for the amenities offered ”
Was Good not great. No Wifi for rooms. They do not provide sealed bottled drinking water(even if we are ready to pay). The rooms were clean and tidy. Location of the hotel is a great plus.

Very worst. I won't suggest anyone to go to this hotel”
Very disappointing hotel. We have booked a seaview room but we were shocked to see the room as it is having only one small single window facing the sea which is called seaview. Eventhough we booked for 1 day we couldn't stay there more than 2 hrs. Just we checked out. For this small seaview room they are charging very high instead we can get a nice room in a 4 star hotel. They will be giving only bread and butter for breakfast none other than that. AC was not working properly with heavy sound just like a table fan. We could not sleep in the room atleast because of that disguisting sound of AC. Its very horrible.

Nothing to highlight other than location ”
It’s a heritage property right on the seafront but there the positives end. You can see that the owners and staff are all just keeping it open just for the sake of it. It’s a shame that such a property is being maintained so callously.

All they charge is for sea view. Can't they tend to upkeap of the property? Can't they give a property breakfast for the money we pay, for God's sake!? Quite disappointed.

FAMILY WEEKEND AT PONDICHERRY”
It was comfortable and rooms were having amenities as needed. it is so centrally located that we never used our vehicle after parking. They can improve on room service and quality of bathroom amenities like Towels and toiletries.
