Great place, but noisy neighbour...”
We stayed there for a night with my husband and my 18 monthes old baby. The owner is really nice, and so is the staff. Our room & bathroom were clean and confortable. The swimming pool is great for kids, because there is a small part for them. The location is fabulous, in front of a blue lagoon, we were almost alone on the beach (in august!!!). The Casa Mio is located on the south coast of Gili Air, while most of the hotels/bungalows & restaurants are on the east coast. So the environnment is very quiet, and it was exactly what we wanted. But (there is a big BUT...) as we went to bed arround 10pm, a bar located near Casa Mio started a party, with very very loud music. We couldn't sleep before 5am (even with ear plugs!!!), when the music finally stopped... So I would recommand this place, except on friday or saturday evening, when there is a risk of noisy neighbour. The Casa Mio manager explained me that she was completely powerless, and despite several complains, the manager of the bar keeps having these noisy parties several time/month and really doesn't care of other people arround... Anyway it's a nice place to stay. (If you have young kids, there is no baby cot available: we've tried to rent one in hotels arround, but couldn't find one).

Great relaxed place with friendly service”
Casa Mio is a very relaxed place to live on the quiet part of Gili Air. Granted Gili Air is sort of quiet all around but on the short strip of beach where most resorts are located there is most the bars and restaurants too and does feel slightly more "touristy". I am glad we did not end up there. On this side of the island you also have a stunning view of the sunset. The owners are very kind and helpful and the restaurant connected to the resort is right on the beach. The beach I would not say is very suitable for snorkelling or bathing but you could always walk to another part of the island for that. I found it very relaxing and also much enjoyed the food, especially the seafood. Service is good for being Indonesia, meaning it's friendly but not always efficient - but who needs efficient when your on an island? Things are what they are, electricity can go at any time, fresh water needs to be shipped from Lombok etc. but again that's the case for all the resorts and really I was not bothered, rather I liked it. I prefer the isolated location on my holiday. The cottages are big but rather close together and not on the beach just so you know. The names of the cottages can sort of fool you in that way. Most resorts on Gili Air are not right on the beach anyway. The rooms are clean and big. I think this was the first time on our trip to Indonesia where I had a nice hot shower with great water pressure. Granted the decorations are a bit wacky. On evenings they show movies on a big screen in the beach restaurant. I thoroughly enjoyed watching blockbusters with my toes in the sand and a cold Bintang in hand. Be aware that during Ramadan you will hear the chanting of the local mosque all night long. When it stops the rooster starts. Price wise it's a bit on the high end. We stayed in the Ocean Breeze Cottage which was perfect for two people, a bit to the side of the other cottages (further from the beach) and a little bit less expensive. We stayed for 5 nights.

Villa Casa Mio on Gili Air was a great place to stay. Phil and Tanya were a great couple who take great pride in their business. They went to every effort to ensure that we enjoyed our stay, and the free (unlimited) breakfast was to die for. We stayed in the 'Ocean Breeze Cottage' which isn't situated with beach front views. This didn't bother us one bit. It was a beautiful room which is kept perfectly clean and tidy thanks to the great work of the staff. Much care and attention is given in everything they do. Highly recommend staying with Villa Casa Mio, and will be sure to book with them again in future.

Beautiful and romantic hotel with great staff ”
We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Our villa as well as the rest of the hotel area was romantic and clean. We had an outside bathroom (with hot water), which was also nice. The owners of the hotel are really great. They take care of customers with paying attention to even a smallest trifle to make their stay unforgottable. Also other staff was helpful. We also really liked breakfasts, there was a quite wide choice from sweet waffles to English breakfast. Aslo fresh juices, coffee and tea. As for the place of the hotel - it depends on everyone´s interests. We went around the whole island and found this place as one of the best. It was calm and only a ten minute walk from the harbour and about twenty minute walk to the place where the most of restaurants and bars is situated (quite noisy and crowded). We very much enjoyed our stay in Gili Air, which has nice beaches and sea life, and we can highly recommend hotel Villa Casa Mio.

Perfect relaxing honeymoon stay”
We spent 3 nights at Casa Mio, after taking the fastboat, then public boat from Gili T (find a company that goes direct to Gili Air) we took a short horsecart ride (an easy walk from the port, but didn't want to lug bags). Upon arrival They gave us a cool towel and welcome drink as we looked out to the water, which was far out because of the tide. They checked us in and showed us how everything worked. We decided to just eat dinner there. Was fresh and tasty, and compared to other places on the island, maybe a little more pricey (this meaning one or two US dollars more) but we were okay with that. The views are awesome and Men and the serving staff are super friendly and entertaining. The mornings were great, the tide was in and the water an aqua blue. Got to enjoy all you can eat breakfast, not buffet but cooked to order each morning, with that beautiful view. We spent all day at the beach from after breakfast to after sunset there. They had little covered loungers if needed to get out of the sun and put your stuff and regular lounge chairs to use. You can order lunch/drinks on the beach as well. The staff will be around and at your service, but not bother your relaxation. The water is great, just be sure you bring water shoes, as it is a coral beach, and you will be fine! The sunset is not to be missed. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing remote beach getaway,I would highly recommend Casa Mio. Not only is it clean, comfortable (have AC, fresh hot water) but staffs really take care of you. The day we were leaving, and had to catch an early boat, they took our breakfast order the night before and made sure we had breakfast ready to eat so we ate before we left, as we were eating, they taped up my luggage that was on its last limb! That's service! Thanks Casa Mio for making our honeymoon relaxing and special!

That little bit of human touch goes a long way”
Quiet time: I really enjoyed my stay in this beautiful place - from the eclectic decoration of each of the four villas (which I daresay makes it the most special resort in the entire Gili Air) internally and externally to the beachfront location where we managed to take a morning walk into the sea everyday due to the super low tide (spotted a starfish too!). This place is perfect if you are looking for a quiet time. Open-air concept: In the day, the open-air shower area in the villa seems like such a beautiful concept. However, during the rainy season, we were left hoping we had a closed-door shower/bathroom instead as there were flying insects/mosquitoes everywhere due to the light source. This didn't happen only in this villa because when we shifted to another resort on mainland Lombok, it had the same open-air concept and we encountered the same issue. There really wasn't anything Richard could do about this, but thankfully we brought mosquito coils to burn while taking a shower. Not quite near the main street: Although it took us about 15 minutes to walk to the main street with other restaurants/resorts and it turned dark each time we returned from our dinner at around 7pm or later because the path back to the villas was not fully lit, I did enjoy the night stroll back, in full view of the night sky (when it wasn't cloudy). How to get there: We booked a private transportation from Lombok Airport to a private harbour straight to Gili Air, in fact, they sent us right to the doorstep of Villa Casa Mio. But if you are alighting from the harbour, take a left turn (when you are back-facing the sea) and simply walk down the pathway towards Villa Casa Mio. You can ask along the way to be sure, since everyone knows just about everything in this small island of Gili Air.

Tropical dream”
I think Casa Mio is absolutely the best choice if you're looking for accommodation on Gili Air. Beautiful cottages, a swimming pool, a fantastic quiet part of the beach where you can hang around in all kinds of comfortable beach furniture or walk 'in the sea' during low rode and then enjoy the sunset that is different every day. On that same beach they serve a delicious breakfast. The staff is friendly and available whenever you need anything, they prepare you good coffees and cocktails that are even better. On top of all, the water in the rooms is shipped from Lombok and doesn't taste salty like the water on other places of the island. It was by far the best accommodation we experienced in Indonesia.

Island Vibes”
We were very lucky to have chosen Casa Mio for staying on Gili Air. The room is very cozy and clean. It has spacious room and a big outdoor bathroom. The swimming pool and shower use fresh water. It's close enough to the center but far enough to feel secluded. Looking forward to stay there again and watch the sunset from the little bale on the beach... A minus of Gili Air is that it doesn't have sufficient electricity supply (at the time we were there) but most Gili Air facilities have own generator like Casa Mio.

Great location; fun & quirky hotel”
We stayed at Villa Casa Mio for two nights, but wished it was longer. Upon arrival, we received a wonderfully warm greeting from the owner and continued to be very well taken care of by the staff throughout our stay, who were extremely friendly and accommodating. Our room, the Ocean of Love, is a large traditional thatched hut containing everything you could you need (and more), including a flat screen TV + DVD player, hi-fi, mosquito net + electric bug deterrent, hair dryer, AC, two fans, wardrobe, inside & outside seating, wifi, drinking water dispenser (also fab!), etc. etc. etc. The outdoor bathroom is a decent size with fresh water shower (a rarity on the island!), complementary shampoo & shower gel, etc. While one couldn't complain about a lack of appliances (or indeed space to fit them -- the room is quite large), the place could benefit from a "less is more" approach. The same goes for the room's general colour scheme and decor, which was a bit kitsch for me, but my other half seemed to enjoy it. The restaurant food was good (but not spectacular ... again, I think streamlining the extensive menu would help), especially the delicious tropical fruit bowl that came with each breakfast. In spite its many eccentricities, it would be impossible to fault its location: a quiet spot, close to other restaurants/bars and with a spectacular (!!) view of the sunset. In all, I would definitely stay here again -- you can tell a lot of love has gone into the place & you leaving really wanting it to succeed, but with more modern hotels now popping up on the island as it becomes increasingly popular with tourists, I do fear that Casa Mio risks getting left if it doesn't start updating the little things (e.g. getting rid of some of the more kitsch elements, e.g. the coral & wood "sculpture" on the beach).

Loved our stay at Casa Mio would definitely return”
We loved our stay at Villa Casa Mio in Gili Air! The owner went out of our way to ensure we enjoyed our stay and the staff were all really lovely. We stayed in the "The Ocean Of Love" bungalow which is was very cute even if a bit cheesy with heart shaped lights, we only regret not being able to stay longer! The view and sunsets are spectacular and the food at the restaurant (especially the fruit smoothies ) were amazing!! During low tide you can go hunting for sea urchins and explore the sealife otherwise submerged. Would definitely stay here again!

A paradise hide away from noisy main stream area...”
This is our 2nd visit to Casa Mio,warm welcome with very friendly smile and intimate service from host as our 1st visiting years ago. Still recommend the stand alone thatched bungalows compares to the others concrete building around the island beach sunset is still our favorite,crystal clear fresh water pool is rare here,we did spend lots time enjoy our cocktail under the coconut trees drinks,meals(Curry,Pizza is our most recommended favorite.... as usual) the only things changed i s the island,gili air island,a huge monster hotel with 250 rooms(two hundred fifty rooms...)is under construction,,and more accommodations are also under construction as well,I'll say this island is definitely OVER developed......

kitsch, quirky , amazing”
Villa Casa Mio was what it says on the box, kitsch, quirky and different i was impressed, the best nights sleep in my 2 week trip- Air con plus a fan...comfy bed and mossie net...everything i needed. Huge water cooler- no limit of two free bottles per day- unlimited clean water- huge outdoor bathroom :) . Fresh Waffles and Fruit salad at breakfast where amazing.If i was to return to Gili Air then this would be my first choice :)

Wonderful friendly service, fantastic location”
Do not believe the bad reviews or skeptical agents in Bali, Gili Air is back open for business and those who get here quick will enjoy having paradise largely to themselves. We had a wonderful stay here to do some scuba diving. We benefitted from quieter waters and great service. The beachside location of Casa Mio is perfect for the sunset and easy to get to dive shops, the harbour and good restaurants. The managers/owners couldn't be more friendly or helpful, thoughtful touches like remembering my boyfriend didnt like banana in his fruit juice and leaving sheet masks in our fridge (I had some out by my washbag) really made this place stand out. Compared to the 5star place in Sengiggi we had just left we would pick here every time. We will be back.

Paradise found, private beach, great food”
Highly recommended. The staff spoke good English, trying to accommodate and entertain in every way possible, extremely wonderful people, the pace of life at the Villa Casa Mio and Gili Air in general is observed to be very dreamy, peaceful, safe long nights, great local food, fortunate climate and an amazing, unforgettable experience overall. Definitely one of the most remote, untouched places on earth.

Perfect for chilling”
gili air is paradise.. it is one of the best places in world paradise.. also casa mio is most beautiful place in gili air.. we can have a dinner with beautiful sunset in beach of casa mio..(it is located in west coast of gilir air..so good for sunset!).. food is also nice.. pool is clean and good to swim (depth is around 1.3m)... ummm staff is very kind and can speak english very well! perfect for chilling! just! perfect!!

The perfect hotel retreat”
i simply loved my stay at casa mio that i extended my stay. this hotel is perfect for relaxing and unwinding. it is located within a five minute walk to the harbour. this is an exceptional hotel offering excellent customer service. the villas are simply stunning, clean and very comfortable. the food was excellent and very reasonably priced. lovely cocktails from bottle water are a must to watch the stunning sunsets at casa mio. grab a good book and unwind by the beautiful pool. this hotel is the perfect place to escape! highly recommended. only con - the wine glasses were a bit small. if they invested in proper wine goblets this place would be perfect.

Fantastic stay at the Beach ”
We had a great stay at Casa Mio, the Roms are very Big and comfortable, and the staff, especially the owner was very welcoming! As the villas are very traditional, you can hear a lot of your sourrounding, other than that the Roms are arranged lovely and we felt very much at home! Sometimes the power goes out but that Happens everywhere on the Island. The Pool is very nice to relax, especially as the water is Not especially deep right at Casa Mio, so I would Not recommend swimming in the Sea right at the Restaurant. We watched the Most beautiful sunsets while eating Dinner, which was absolutely stunning! I recomment Casa Mio especially for couples, its in a quiet and relaxing area of the Island from where you can get around easily.

Nice hotel, Friendly staff”
Would definitely recommend Casa Mio on Gili Air. Hotel location is about 10 mins walk from the port, but I personally prefers being away from main street with all the noises at night. View at the hotel restaurant is awesome and nice direction to watch sunset. Staff is very friendly and helpful, always there when I needed help. The best addition is the breakfast, it's very nice to have fresh fruit salad, fresh fruit juice and big meal to start your day!! HIGHLY COMMANDED!
