Amazing villa with a great view”

Place was not too difficult to find despite comments from other reviews, as long as you look out for the sign. Place is quite secluded and you have to drive a long winding run-down road up to the carpark. Almost thought I had entered the wrong place for awhile. Long walk down to the villa, so make sure you have people who can carry the luggage down. Villa Manager met us at the carpark and showed us the place. Was very friendly, but seemed to only want to advertise his own island hopping services, with not much opinions on the other things on the island. Regardless, very friendly and tried to help. Villa itself was big with a wonderful seaview. Since there are very little villas, the pool is usually all yours and it is quite big as well. The villa that I stayed at was next to the pool as well, making it extremely convenient. A few minor problems like the toilet floor leaking through to the first floor if excessive water flows out of the shower cubicle, toilet flush having to be operated like a pump (push continuously multiple times for it to flush properly). Other than that it was an amazing experience due to it's great view and how secluded it felt and it really was like a home away from home.

Nice Villa with stunning view and enough privacy”

we spent only one night in villa de porto in june. weather was nice, villa was nice and the view from balcony was just great. we enjoyed spending our times at the balcony both in day time and night time. our kids strongly requested to go to langkawi for a second time and to stay in villa de porto for some more nights !

Interesting architecture scenic view”

Easy check-in. The location is remote, hire a car will make access easier as the road lead up to the complex is pretty steep. The three stories villa we were staying was near the bottom of the hill, so lots of stairs to climb. However we were notify before arrival. Every room got a view, especially the spacious balcony. Facilities are fair with space of improvement. i.e. blown light bulbs, lack of duvets, non operation electric (T.V / ceiling Fan), fridge was filled with items from previous guest, more dusting required( although we understand the location sometime add to the factors). Decor is right to the property, mostly require repair, update and replacement. Hence the price we pay for this property not under high expectations. The swimming pool is right outside the house, it was clean and private. We were surrounded with D Luffy monkeys at one point. It was magical. We even managed to see the Blood moon eclipse over the pool side. We can see other properties are under renovation within the complex. I will recommend this villa to anyone. It is a magical gem hidden away from the world. An experience you will never forget.

Comfortable Villa with Nice View”

It is nice and affordable villa for group of people 4-8 to stay. Very quite place with self-management facilities. Do not expect dailly room services, it is meant for people who prefer to stay like own house. It is located on a small hill, so you have to drive in and have a little bit driving skills. This stops people that do not drive and meanwhile it is very safe that no thief will consider such a location as it is really difficult for them to bring out things. We take it as a good point for safety reason. Please rent a car before you start your stay in this nice villa. There is no food provided by hotel, but nearby there are many restaurants and nice beaches. (5 minutes driving)

Good location for a group of friends to just escape for a few days”

This place is pretty remote. About 20 mins drive from the airport. The villa per se is isolated on a hilltop. There is a gate to open and close behind you, and a hill to climb via the car. It is very dark at night. There are also lots of monkeys around, so do be vigilant. From the parking, it's a bit of a walk down the stairs to get to the location. Not for the elderly or those who have knee issues - for all the going down the stairs, there is also coming up the same set of stairs. It's a great workout. At night, again, it's very dark, and lighting is kept to just the pathway, so can be quite creepy. The caretaker is fantastic. Very friendly chap. The place is very clean, and the view is fantastic as well, overlooking the bay. Point to note. This is a remote location and surrounded by forestation, on a cliff over a bay. If you are "sensitive" to less-visible occupants of the space, this is NOT the place for you. Otherwise, just have a great time.

Great Villa but lacking in facilities wise”

it was hari raya holiday when we visited langkawi and chose to stay in this villa. though it was a villa for 6 persons as stated in the agoda website, the villa was big enough to house us consisting 7 adults and 3 young kids. the villa was kind of difficult to locate at the first place as the entrance was with the gate closed and no sign board indicating the hotel name. not until we called up the gate keeper to get the exact description about the whereabout of the villa. it has 3 rooms with a big balcony facing the sea and also a big living room. each room has it own split unit ac. it also has a kitchen area with a small fridge. tv with astro channel is available. it has total 2 toilets. overall the condition of the villa was good but the villa keeper didn't take care the cleanliness very well. there was a small swimming pool in the villa area but it was raining almost the whole day, we didn't manage to do too much outdoor activities. it would be great if there could be covered bbq facilities for this kind of situation. villa location is very near to pantai cenang and jalan pantai cenang where you can find a big variety of restaurants. just that it was very tough to find breakfast the next morning as it was holiday and just a few restaurant or coffee shops were open. if you are opt to family gathering rather than beaches and outdoor activities, then this villa would probably be your choice of lodging. otherwise, there are better choices along the pantai cenang.

Lovely Villa for a large group of people”

The villa has great location and is appropriate for a family or a large group of people. The swimming pool and the garden are lovely and the verandah has sweeping views of the sea. The sea is just a two minute walk away and there is a small private beach about five minutes away. Restaurants are a five minute drive away and it is recommended that you rent a car.

Villa Del Porto”

location is too far n not suitable. No suitable foods to eat.The room is too old and dark..not well maintained by owner. If not on peak season will be not customer like stay in...The room bed is not like a hotel amenities at all ....bed is too hard can't sleep at all..The blanket is very smelly and not comfortable will not encourage people to paid such high rates to have this type of villa

A hotel with nice Sea view but hard to access”

This hotel is suitable for young people, because there is many steps from car park to villas (maybe up to 100 steps). There isn't any resident staff, so there isn't any reception, room service, restaurant..... . It contains only a few villas and a small pool.

Poor location....quiet place”

If u dun have a car, this hotel is not ur option as the entry to the hotel is a small hill road with only available for 1 car each time. At night is very dark and many monkeys around. There is no reception as the hotel is under control by the owner. When we arrived, we waited for a long time until found someone there to provide us the owner number. After a while, the owner came with his son and bring us to the villa....owner is nice! After we checked out, I realized my camera left behing and contacted the owner to find it...but he said it's not there....it's a sad memory for me!

Location is good”

The villa is near the airport facing nice seaview. It is a good option for a group of people's stay.

BAD!!”

My friends and I (total 5 person), stay there for 3 nights. We drive all the way from the airport to the villa, and need to drive a very silent path to reach there. when we reach, there is no reception, just call the owner there and he came up to guide us to the villa. All of us had big luggages, and there is NO ELAVATOR, NO BELL SERVICE, and we need to carry all our luggage and walk up and down the stairs to the villa. When we reach, the owner told us there is NO HOUSEKEEPING, which means, we stay there for 3 nights, no one came to make up the room, even the towels are from other hotels!! The villa is a double story villa, there are 3 rooms in the villa, each has own bathroom. One of the room's air-con keeps leaking; the other one's bathroom, when you shower the water will leak to the bathroom in the lower floor; and the other room has so many ANTS there, really don't know what is going on with the "Villa". For sure i won't go there any more even it's free!

nice view, lame room”

the villa was hard to get, even harder if you arrive late at night like we did. it was nice that they arranged for a staff waiting for us at a turn leading to it. the rooms are smaller than they seemed in the pictures. one of the rooms was a little dusty. the bathrooms were not nice: okay in terms of cleanliness but barely anything more than that. the view from the balcony was awesome. that's the good thing about the villa... oh, forget about airport pick up and breakfast. the villa don't have them.

Basic Villa”

Out of expectation. Route to the resort is very secluded. Walking distance to the villa from parking is far, and have a lot of stone steps. There is a master room (1 king size bed for 2 person, 1 stool bed for 1 person), a secondary room (1 queen size bed for 2 person), and another room (1 super single bed for 2 person). Hardly have a comfortable sleep, since it is not 3 rooms with double bed.

Think twice before booking this resort”

This resort is located on a hill top. There is no transport to the resort; only a long, steep windy road that leads to the resort. When you reach the resort, there is no reception, no bell service, no porters; nothing. It is a steep walk down many flights of stairs with luggage in tow under the hot sun and mosquitoes swarming around to the Villa. Checking-in has to be pre-arranged with the company. The Villa is big; 2 storeys and 3 bedrooms; 1 on the first floor and 2 on the second floor. The living room and common space is not airconditioned; and the windows are not recommended to be opened as there are swarms of mosquitoes outside. The aircon in the room on the first floor leaks water, and the bed is directly under the aircon. The washroom in one of the rooms on the second floor only has hot water; making it unusable. At night, the resort is dark; do be careful if you are returning after the sun sets as the steps can be tricky to manage at night. The place is good for people looking for a quiet getaway with lots of privacy. My family has a terrible time staying there. Although we booked for 3 nights, we moved out after the first night.

Disappointed!!! Poor Room and Management”

There is Triple story villa and i stay in first and second floor, lower ground floor is completely closed. Unbelievable! There was a leaking and it was like raining on the 2nd floor kitchen and bathroom ceiling when my children were bathing on the 1st floor floor bath room. I stayed in a small room on the second floor. What was supposed to be a fun vacation turned into a disaster when the air-con in the room is giving me another headache. The whole night, water was dripping from the air-con onto my face! Was it supposed to be a raining house or something?! Worst was that when we called for maintenance or Site manager were we frustrated when there was NOBODY ANSWERING OUR CALLS! Seriously, we called more than 10 times. This is unacceptable for a tourist place! This is really bad and reflects really on the hotel!

Camping experience”

1 night was all we could handle. If you want a camping experience in the jungle then maybe this is the place for you but don't take your elderly parents here. 128 steps down the long path is not ideal for elderly ones. The A/C in the bedroom dripped water on my dad's head all night long. There were cockroaches in the kitchen sink and all the bathrooms. Huge spiders and moths upstairs. There is a sign in the bathroom saying not to get the floor wet but the shower doesn't drain so after 1 shower, the floor is flooded. 2 of the toilets wouldn't flush. The bed downstairs had dirt all over it and hair all over the pillow. There was kitchen plates and cups but because of the amount of cockroaches, we didn't want to use any of it. The lights are so dim that you can't hardly see at night. You can't sit outside to enjoy food because of the swarm of mosquito's and other insects. Google map is way off. It took us to the other side of the island so a total of 2 hours driving and multiple times of calling to even find the place. We were up early the next morning to check out and get to our other hotel as fast as we could so we could shower. It was suppose to be a nice vacation with my parents visiting us and I was embarrassed that we spent our first night there. I was very disappointed.

Not satisfied”

The floor is not water proof so the water will leak to the lower floor. The air con will leak water. There was water shortage problem and the reservoir was out of water too. The whole 4days there was a disaster as we do not have water to shower and we had to buy water to shower. The water boiler provided is so dirty.
