Very nice place to start discovering Barcelona”
We had a lovely stay at Villa Emilia Hotel! Service was great, breakfast very nice and plenty of choice, the bar/restaurant is very trendy and we loved the live piano music while enjoying our deluxe gin & tonic. The bed was a bit hard compared to my preference but the rooms are lovely and spacious. The hotel is only one block away from the metro which will bring you to every place in Barcelona you want to be within 30 minutes. We loved Barcelona and Villa Emilia Hotel is a great place to start discovering the city.
Great and central hotel!”
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Villa Emilia! Great atmosphere both in the restaurant, lobby and the room. The breakfast buffet was not large but with high quality I'd rather have this than a big one! We both agreed that the breakfast was one of the highlights in our stay in Barcelona (and we had some!). Staff is very friendly and helpful, everything is clean - what more can you ask for? Well worth the money! The hotel is close to the Metro and if you like walking, like we do, close enough to the major attractions in Barcelona. If there is something negative to say at all, it might be that there was a strange cinnamon sentence on the floor with lived on. Maybe not great for someone with allergies or a sensitive nose.
The staff were so accommodating, location is perfect ( near the metro & train going to Montserrat), and the room is nice- you get a full view of the surroundings because of the floor to ceiling windows... We definitely recommend Villa Emilia Hotel for your stay in Barcelona.
Modern but Cozy”
We really enjoyed Villa Emilia. While it's modern, it's not as cold and sterile as a lot of similar style hotels we have stayed in previously. At first I was worried about not being in the old part of the city, but after going to that part several nights for dinner, I realized that it gets quiet at night when the tourists leave and there isn't much going on. I enjoyed the location of our hotel- the Red L1 metro was on the same block which made getting around quick and easy. Many of restaurants are within a 10 minute walk.
The Staff from the Hotel really did a great job, to make my stay pleasant. The Style/ interiour is very pleasing- and so is the "zinc bar" nearby the entrance hall. The rooftop Bar is a big plus for when the sun came out, I was able to go to the roof and enjoy it on the soft lounges. Thank You Villa Emilia, this is a very good hotel, especially if you consider the price
Good hotel to see barcelona from”
Villa Emilia is a good hotel to base your holiday from in barcelona. It is not one of the most centrally based hotels but its a short metro ride into the heart of la rambla. All of the hotel staffs recommendations were spot on and they were very helpful. I think if you want to stay somewhere more central then this is not your place, its a more quiet spot for couples. The restaurant is really nice and overall its good hotel for value for money.
Lovely trendy hip hotel”
villa emilia hotel is right next to the rockafort subway station. i took the taxi from the el prat airport and only around to get there. staffs there are very helpful and gave us loads of information about the city. the room is nicely decorated and very trendy. size is good and bathroom is spacious. free wi-fi though i could not be able to connect my laptop until the last day of my stay. only thing is it is quite noisy at night. we had a room facing the street and there were quite a lot of loading activities at night as well as traffic noise. had to close the windows completely to fence off the noise. there are jazz bar next to the lobby and roof terrace for drinking and dinning but we did not have the time to try them out. overall pretty good place and would recommend to stay there.
Great location and great hote”
Great location: This really matters after a long day of walking/sightseeing. 1. Hotel is just one block away from subway. 2. Good and safe area/neighborhood -> Eixample 3. The subway station is Rocafort of L1 (red line). One station east of Plaza de Espanya. Three stations west of Catalunya. All on L1, no transfer needed. Friendly and helpful staffs: Provided useful information and willing to help all the time. Comfortable room: well-equipped and clean. Wifi: Available and free, though sometimes slow but acceptable. The only down side of the hotel is about the room. It's just some little parts that can make it more perfect, ex. the size of TV is small, the overall light in the room is not bright enough, a soap stand by the sink would be great...etc. But it doesn't really affect the quality of stay.
Boutique hotel with large rooms and roof terrace”
This hotel is a gem and exceeded our expectations, we will certainly return. The hotel is everything one would expect of a good boutique hotel - great vibe, beautifully designed, great food with a very charming roof top terrace and bar. They hold a weekly BBQ dinner on the terrace too - which we were too late to book - but looked extremely good. The restaurant downstairs also has surprisingly high quality food for a small hotel, and we would recommend trying it out on one of your nights there. The hotel is a few metro stops from the centre of Barcelona (if you are the walking type, you can walk to the centre of town in a couple of km). Regardless, a metro station is also right outside the hotel, so you have the choice of walking of taking transport for a few short stops. Contrary to things I had read online about there being 'not much to see' in the local area, we found there were plenty of little restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, which we highly recommend trying out. Also recommended is the nearby Market Hotel's restaurant, which is also a short walk away. Their restaurant is beautifully designed and popular, with the most incredible value for money menu / wine list.

Wonderful boutique hotel & great staff”
Of the 3 hotels in this category where I have stayed in Barcelona, this is the one where I hope to go back again and again. It is a hotel with style and atmosphere, and friendly dedicated staff - reception, bar and restaurant staff. There is attention to details such as the supply of extra fluffy pillows and over-sized cushions in the rooms. The decor is straight out of a design magazine but with a soft edge to make you feel at home. For instance, I loved the little weaved baskets in the bathrooms bathrooms. The buffet breakfast is a feast to the eye. Most of all, I appreciated the friendliness of the staff.
Superb Location and good quality overall”
Warm welcome at the hotel, room was immediately ready and the reception already gave us a first briefing about tours and sightseeings in barcelona which was very appreciate. Hotel has also a perfect location. Metro just at the corner and in five minutes you are at place de catalunya. Also place de espagna in walking distance where the hip on/off bus is leaving. Boutique Hotel with nice details and a superb terrace at the top. Breakfast affordable and good level of quality. Only to claim was the king bed, which in fact was just to single beds placing together. Specially for a couple not the best. All in all, i would choose the hotel again for a city trip.
Nice hotel, great location ”
On arrival - although we had booked a double - we had been allocated a twin! not good on our honeymoon. They offered us a deal on Breakfast but we had to agree to 2 mornings there and then which would be charged additionally and although there were cheaper places to eat it was convenient so we took the deal (€10 pp instead of €14pp) Our 1st night was a little noisy, we couldnt believe that a quality hotel would have such bad double glazing, we had not spent much time in the room, simply getting ready with the radio and going out....we realised at 3.30am that the window/door of the balcony was broken and hidden behind the curtain! we complained and had the option of moving or waiting for it to be fixed, as we were out all day and only in Barcelona for 1 more night, we opted to stay in the room and sure enough when were returned the window/door was fixed. Apart from that the staff were very courteous, the coffee was divine and breakfast lovely, the bar had a good selection of wine but the mojito was very poor and at €10 a glass I was not impressed. We did not eat dinner in the hotel as the surrounding caes and restaurants offered better deals....But overall we had a very very pleasant stay.
chic and vibrant”
my stay at emilia was pleasantful. the first impression, of course, was the look of the hotel once i got out of the cab. the hotel is smoke-free, so upon entering its door, the stirring aromatic smell would keep hitting you until you get into your room. the staffs were nice, very service mind-oriented. the zinc bar on the ground floor suits perfectly for relaxing at any time, from morning coffee to midnight sparkling wine. i was mostly impressed with the room cleanliness, aroma, and the bed comfortability. they use high quality bedsheet and sleeping would take your breath away. it's a well deserved 4 star hotel.
Lovely hotel, very friendly and helpful staff”
it was our first visit to barcelona and we came for one night to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. the hotel was lovely, the lady on reception gave us a map of the city and pointed out the major attractions. she also told us about travelling around on the metro and buses. the location was great, travelling on the metro was easy and convenient and we crammed a lot into our short stay. will definitely be back!
Superb hotel - great value, great location”
Cool rooftop bar, great breakfast, lovely rooms and super helpful staff. All without the inflated price tag of a super central location, yet close enough to be able to get everywhere. Wouldn't stay anywhere else next time i'm in Barcelona.
Great hotel - clean, comfy and well equipped”
We really enjoyed our two night stay here - we had everything we needed and found the staff accomodating and friendly. Location isn't quite as good as others in terms of proximity to La Rambla and other major sites but these were all a walk away and the upside was being surrounded by local cafes and restaurants, which allowed us to experience the real Barcelona! Would definitely stay here again.
Excellent city, great hotel.”
Lovely, cannot fault it. Beautiful hotel, would recommend to others. Close by to everything and with a metro just outside the hotel, you could get from the airport to the hotel on very fast clean public transport. The room was big with a very comfortable bed, bathroom was also quite large and the shower lovely. The bar had a romantic feel about it and very reasonably priced wines. Staff were helpful and even offered to mail my postcards.
great hotel a block away from metro station”
check-in was fast, the receptionist provided maps and brochures without asking. The air-conditioning in the rooms worked very well. The hotel is a block away from the Rockafort metro station. Great coffee time from 5-7pm, with sometimes juice, teas, and little pastries. This is a great place to base yourself in barcelona.
Lovely boutique hotel”
It's was very pleasant experience, considering staying there again in our own way back to Barcelona
