Could be much better”
This is a small "hotel" located within a winery. The wines are pretty good (stick with the reds), the rooms are large and there is a nice view.
However, there is no sign of an owner or manager and the staff appear to have had no training whatsoever. You choose your evening food upon arrival, which is no bad thing, although the choice is very limited - pizza, pasta or roast duck. Only one starter was available, but they forgot to bring it!The duck was fine but served with cold rice and an uninspiring salad. Breakfast was very average.
We did a wine tasting with a very pleasant woman, but I suspect she had never drunk wine in her life. She poured a full glass of the first of five wines and I suspect she would have continued to pour full glasses of the remainder.
Most surprisingly the hotel seemed to be popular with young families; be prepared for children crying at night.
Realistically this place is a long way from Izmir and it needs to improve dramatically before wine lovers from the city will make the trip and stay overnight. If you are passing, call in and taste some wines.
