Good location! Sadly maintenance required”
We stayed for 4 nights in one of the Villas, very roomy and quite comfortable overall as weather was very steamy. However disappointed with maintenance of the place in general -shower leaked, some of the furnishings were out of place and others had seen better days. We are regular travellers and definitely not picky and rarely write these reviews. This accommodation was regarded as a 'Treat' due to the cost per night, cost but sadly did not equate to quality here. Rooms should be around 30% less unless they do some refurb works. Standard breakfast included but could choose some options and cook staff were always happy to please. Staff in general were always happy and helpful. Location great as close to the best beach by far, Dumaluan. Turn right and beach gets wider, cleaner and less trodden. Lovely area with really nice locals, the reason why we all should travel is to meet the people and enjoy there culture. Enjoy you time in Philippines wherever you stay. Cheer Ads n Tan
Best service here!”
The staff was super. Efficient, friendly, everyone says hello or good morning. Five star service. Great value. Loved the Executive suite. Suoer fast nternet. AC worked great and a free shuttle to airport.
Small hotel outside Alona Beach. Takes about 8 min to get to Alona Beach with a tricycle (150 pesos) Big rooms, nicely decorated. Even though it is outside town, there is a bit of noise from chickens, dogs and road, so don't expect total silence Great Italien food, maybe the portions are a bit small, that goes for the breakfast to, where you can choose from a couple of dishes. Little more expensive then if you go into town. The staff is VERY friendly, and really helpfull. There is a nice Beach just a couple af minuts walk away, you can't go there without passing through a resort, so it costs 25 pesos for the whole day to go to the beach. In the resort there is toilets, a small shop were you can buy cold drinks and snacks, and a little bar that makes food and drinks, the prices are okay. Transport from airport costs 600, and to ferry pier 700 + 10 pesos. A little bit expensive for my taste.
It was raining there, the other room was flooded. In my room there was dripping water from the rain ”
It was raining there, the other room was flooded. In my room there was so much dripping water from the rain. So many black ants all over the place. I tried to tell to the staff, she told me that it wasn’t biting. So I replied I know at this age of mine, but the dirt they were bringing all over the like when I was eating on the table, the ants were sharing with me,hahaha....with regards to food,so expensive.....
We were sadly very dissapointed with our stay and within 10 mins wanted to leave. Pros: only the location for dumualean beach which is just 3 mins walk away. Cons: lack of care for customers, no greeting or assistance with luggage on arrival, deluxe room had ruaty items, odd cups, towels, a broken window on arrival which meant room wasn't secure and could be broken into easily. When reported we were told it would be fixed that dat but on return it wasn't and had to ask again and insist that if not fixed we wanted to leave. For four days the American breakfast wasn't available as they had missing items. Restaurant.wasnt a restaurant at all and so uninviting. Everything was just very unprofessional.. Even our taxi to the airport turned out to be a friends truck with her mum in it! we wanted to leave after ten mins but new it would be too much hassle and we'd not get our money back. Worst hotel and value for money during our 3 week stay. Really miserable so we went out all the tim
Awesome Resort! ”
The resort has a very cozy and relaxing ambience. The room that we got was big and clean! What makes our stay more amazing is how the staff were so kind and charming and very accommodating to all our requests. It was a very pleasant and lovely stay. ❤️
Nice Pool, nice bungalows, quiet”
+ quiet and away from noisy Alona Beach + bungalows are big and nicely designed - the beach nearby has an entry fee and is very noisy (loud music etc) - food could be more authentic, spices are missing - the 2nd cup of coffee at breakfast must be paid!
Overall not good”
The room is big but there was no television. The food for breakfast is not good. The surroundings have big mosquitos. The beach is about 400 m. walk but you have to pay an entrance at dimaluan beach.
Dear Teresita, Thank you for taking your time to write us a review. We've already explained to you during your stay that television was not on our amenities / facilities list found in Agoda when you booked. We apologize again that you expected for a buffet breakfast in a small property like ours, however, we have 7 different breakfast sets to choose from. Regarding the mosquitoes in the surroundings, we're sorry that they come out around 5.30 to 6 pm. Dumaluan beach is about 200 meters away from Villa Formosa (3 to 5-minute walk) and it's their policy to ask 25 pesos as entrance fee. We sincerely apologize if you found your stay with us "not good". We hope to make it up to you when you return in the future. Thank you again for staying with us! Best Regards, Matet
Villa Formosa was everything and more than we could have asked for!!! From the attentive and kind staff, to the hospitable owners (Mathias and Matet) it was a pleasure to stay there in every sense of the word. We stayed in the delux bungalow and it was spacious, comfortable and exceptionally clean. The restaurant in Villa Formosa was delicious and with the suggestions from both Mathias and Matet we discovered some fantastic dishes. We cant wait to come back :)
The staff were absolutely outstanding. From the moment we arrived they were attentive, helpful, friendly and very efficient. The food was excellent with our meals being superbly cooked and presented. The rooms were very comfortable, spacious and clean. A great place to stay.
Stayed two nights in latter April,I had a good time. Friendly stuff, neat & spacious bungalow, clean garden-pool,reasonable charge, etc. Unfortunately No ocean view,But walk down 5 minutes along a slope way, find the beautiful blue sea and white sand beach, stalls of local foods.
Lovely quiet little place”
Great place to stay if you're after a bit of peace and quiet and a relaxing stay by Damaluan Beach (5 mins away), and don't want to stay in a big resort. All tastefully decorated and furnished, large rooms with lovely balconies and a great pool.
Loved it! The property has a lovely relaxed atmosphere. It is ideal for a couple and would be good for a family or anyone looking for peace and quiet. The staff are very accommodating and friendly and the restaurant has excellent Italian food. The attention to detail was impressive. It seems very underrated at 3 stars, it feels like at good 4 star property. Thanks for the best stay on my trip!
Great place-definitly will return.”
Amazing place. Really great for a romantique getaway. You have to pay to get on the beach, a bit strange, but worth it. Really great pool. Great food. Alhona beach is a 5km drive away but this spot is much better for a quite getaway from the action at Alhona.
Great location and food, very attentive staff”
We had a couple of nights at the Villa. The staff is very polite and attentive. The rooms are very big with a very modern bathroom. The location is just 5mins away from the beach. The restaurant serves authentic Italian cuisine. We had great time. Highly recommend to couples and families with children.
close to beach and wonderful hotel surounding”
We liked it a lot! We got so much for our money. The pool area and dining section is peacefull and has a warm atmosphere. The stuff and manager are engaged in what they do and we feelt very welcome. Its about 200 meters to the beach where you pay only 25 ph/person to a place thats so wonderfull. There is no negative thing about this place if you are looking for a nice beach and relaxing.
Best food on Panglao Island”
Our stay at Villa Formosa was one of the very best in the Philippines. We liked that it has only a small number of villas and huge, clean pool. Our dining experiences were top class and the staff happily attended to our every wish. The very professional proprietors Matet & Mathias create a very friendly and happy ambience. The highlight really was the wonderful Italian cuisine prepared by Mathias and his staff. Thank you.
Relaxation achieved during my whole stay.”
We were lucky to find this place, because our group (9pax) had the entire place to ourselves. The pool and garden view was very relaxing. The villas were excellent, very modern and the beddings and pillows were 5 star hotel quality. It was so hard to get up in the morning and do the tours. The place itself was already good for relaxation and fun, you would forget there was a beach outside.
Stayed for 5 nights”
Stayed over 5 nights with my husband, relaxing and enjoy the stay at the villa.
A great little place”
Very close to the most beautiful beach on Bohol. The staff were delightful and made us very welcome. Breakfast was great and the two dinners we had during our 5 day stay we really good. It was a a lovely little place, just thought though that it was a tad overpriced and basic as we had stayed in better quality accomadation for less on Bohol.
Take a look at these facilities:
