Our Thai-Style Staycation”
A group of girlfriends spent a staycation (we are all from Singapore) at Villa Samadhi. We felt like we were transported to another place and time. Villa Samadhi is Thai-style an arts-and-crafts type of place. It is built in Singapore traditional 'black-and-whites": colonial style buildings. The entry way greeted us with a Buddha statue and warm reception staff. I asked one of the staff "do you like working here?" and his enthusiastic response was "I LOVE IT!". Rooms were clean and very comfortable. We opted for a king size bed which was huge. And the 2nd night upgraded to the room that was great value for the upgrade; it came with a jaccuzzi type tub which could have fit 5 people. Happy hour cocktails (included) are served on the 2nd floor of the building which is called 'the library'. Décor is made up of recycle artifacts and mounted traditional textiles taken from northern Thailand near Chiang Mai. We are definitely returning!

Exceptional”
I would like to thank all the staff of Villa Samadhi, made my bf’s birthday extra special from the complimentary balloons and dessert. I only booked for the cheapest room which is the Crib room but for us it was enough with a wooden bathtub. We love everything inside. The bed is the most comfortable although a bit tall to climb up with my short height :D. Take note not all crib rooms have wooden bathtub. We appreciate all the efforts from welcome tea ,one hour unlimited cocktail at their library at 6:00pm, wine and fruit inside the room (all complimentary). Inside bathroom, also has complete toiletries and I like the bamboo toothbrush. We had our dinner at Tamarind Hill which caters Thai cuisine and the complimentary breakfast will be at their open veranda, it’s located at the back of the hotel, 5 minutes walk through a wooden bridge, we feel like we were out of town coz the hotel is in the middle of nature and that’s what we were looking for. Some guests had negative feedbacks as I’ve read here, the location is not convenient and nowhere to find, for me I did enjoy walking 10-15minutes from Labrador park mrt station using my gps even though no shed and it was a hot afternoon :D or else you can take a cab. This is the uniqueness of the hotel’s location, it’s in the middle of the city but surrounded by nature and away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Don’t doubt to book this place. All worth it. Thumbs up to all the hotel staff of Villa Samadhi and restaurant crew of Tamarind Hill. Can’t wait to go back.
Amandegold”
Booked this place for a birthday staycay for my partner and the staff (especially Guek) were extremely welcoming and helpful and made our stay such an enjoyable one. The room was special and unconventional (unlike an ordinary hotel room). Toilet had a huge wooden bath tub which they sprinkled fresh flowers in. The afternoon tea was such a delight with an assortment of cakes and kuehs. In the evening we received some Port wine to try and surprisingly loved it! We visited Gillman Barracks as well and rented some Obikes to cycle to Labrador Nature Reserve -Keppel area for day time activities. Breakfast at Tamarind Hill Restaurant was such a delight as well! Guek entertained us with a bit of the owner's history of Villa Samadhi and how his time as an employee there is like. His uniform is super comfy - t-shirt, sarong and sandals. Our time at Villa Samadhi was a good break from our city life peppered with mini surprises and the best staycay i've had in Singapore!!
Rare gem in Villa Samadhi”
We had a most pleasant, lovely and memorable stay at Villa Samadhi, welcomed by Terence, at the door. The place exudes a south east asian charm with its decor and the room is very spacious and clean. They'd learnt the stay was a celebration of our first wedding anniversary and we found balloons, a personal letter scroll, signed off by its General Manager Anshuman Narayan and alcohol in the room when we returned in the evening, from cocktail hour at the villa's library. Min, the friendly bartender, made us feel right at home, in Singapore, though we were the locals. Jenny, from Tamarind Hill, showed us round the restaurant and where we'd have breakfast the next morning. She also made our night special with a sweet treat. We are very impressed with their impeccable service and personal touch and certainly did not expect to chance upon somewhere like this in Singapore. Would highly recommend this place, so generous with its hospitality!
Ideal relaxing stopover”
What a wonderful place to relax. After a few weeks in Australia with family, we needed a place to unwind during our stopover in Singapore. We took a walk around the old gun battery park and down to the coast to stretch our legs on arrival in the afternoon - this left us a bit hot and sticky, but we soon found the antidote..! After our delicious lychee cocktails in the beautiful old bar oozing with colonial charm, and hosted by the charming lady in charge, we took a plunge in the generous and cooling private plunge bath spa in our room... simply delicious after the heat and sweat outside..! We chose not to eat in the dining room, as we will not eat anywhere that serves cruel-food such as foie-gras. For us, that is the only fly in the ointment and we’d otherwise love to come back. Villa Samadhi is perfect for couples on a break or layover who want to avoid the bustle and commerciality of central Singapore, yet still be only a short distance from the town and airport.
Beautiful retreat but still close to downtown”
We loved our big, elegant room and the surrounding nature preserve. The staff were tremendously helpful, even arranging taxi and takeaway breakfast for my insanely early departure. The hotel is beautiful, as is the stroll over to the Tamarind, where a bountiful breakfast is served. I stayed in several hotels in Singapore that cost about the same, and the Villa Samadhi was by far the best and most comfortable.
Away from the hustle and bustle of the city”
Villa Samadhi is a great option if you love charming, unique hotels. Our room was large and elegantly appointed and stayed true to it's historical roots. The air conditioner in our room did struggle with the heat and humidity so it was a bit uncomfortable; we only stayed for 2 nights so it wasn't too much of an issue. There were complimentary cocktails during Happy Hour in the gorgeous and quirky library which was a great way to relax into the evening and prepare for dinner at Tamarind Hill Restaurant. Breakfast was outside on the verandah at Tamarind Hill so if you struggle with the heat there is no other option for you. Staff were very helpful and friendly and it was nice to stay somewhere different in Singapore. Definitely a hidden gem as our taxi drivers didn't even know Villa Samadhi even existed!
Hard not to Fall in Love With”
Villa Samadhi is designed to please a very specific type of visitors and it does the work so well that it is hard not to fall in love with. If you are looking for a secluded place to wind down, surround yourself with nature and have a beautiful pampering experience, Villa Samadhi is a fantastic place. It has cocktail hour in the evening - where the guests can have freeflow cocktail in a beautiful sitting room. Also, a good selection of snacks and teas provided as a complimentary service - almost as good as a mini high-tea selection.
Fabulous getaway experience”
Fantastic customer experience - from check-in, welcome tea, cocktail hour to night cap. Villa Samadhi take care of every detail to make our stay memorable. Staffs are all friendly, attentive and willing to go the extra mile. Breakfast at Tamarind Hill was perfect, wide selection from the menu and buffet table. If you are looking to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this is a good choice. Having said that, the hotel is still accessible from Labrador Park MRT station (about 10 mins walk). We enjoyed the greenery and the sound of nature while exploring the hotel surrounding and chilling out outside our room.
Awesome stay and will be coming back! ”
Everything was perfect from to start. I actually requested for an early check in as I need to prepare the stuffs for my partner’s birthday surprise. They provided us with balloons too. The two gents working ( I didn’t get their name tho) was very helpful throughout my stay here. They showed us around the room too. It’s very nice to see them going the extra mile in service and that’s what important. We booked the Sarang room which have the indoor jacuzzi. And we absolutely love it!! Very one of a kind. I love the peaceful environment which makes us feel like we’re not in SG. I will def recommend people to come here and def will book another stay here and try the other room. I already missed it there. Thank you once again Villa Samadhi! :)
Beautiful hotel secluded in a park !! So quiet ! The staff is always at your service and smily ”
No shuttle from the MRT to villa Samadhi No taxi stand next to mrt So you have to pull your luggage’s up to the hotel “ a tour de force “ But when it’s rewarding You are welcome by a dedicated staff with miniardise tea and free aperitif Very big room and clean Nothing missing but sleepers
The Perfect Getaway”
If you're looking for a place away from all the noise and stress of the city, Villa Samadhi is the perfect place for you. It is pretty expensive, but you do get what you pay for with the size of the toilet and the private pool! Would have wished that there was a halal option for breakfast, or that the staff would have at least tried to do something for us, but otherwise, the staff was really friendly, helpful and efficient.
Excellent staycation ”
It's just a 10-15minute walk from Labrador MRT, but it feels like it's in a remote area far from the urban chaos. Excellent for a short getaway. Double thumbs up for the excellent service. Breakfast was splendid as well. Although there aren't any facilities for us to use, the purpose was more to relax in a quiet area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will def recommend to others. Thanks Villa Samadhi!
Exceptional”
A most charming hotel set in beautiful lush surroundings away from the hustle and bustle of the city. In spite of the rural tranquil setting, it is within easy reach of the city centre by car or underground railway. The nearest MRT station is about 10 minutes walk from the hotel, and the journey to town takes approximately 10 minutes. The staff at the Samadhi couldn't be more helpful and pleasant, and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. This is definitely a hotel to recommend.
Great staycation”
The staff at Villa Samadhi were extremely helpful when I was preparing for a mini celebration for my partner. In addition, the room was absolutely exquisite and I loved how the bathroom was so spacious. The outdoor private whirlpool was a lovely addition too. Would strongly recommend and would return again if given the chance.
Personal, wonderful service that go above and beyond”
Special mention to Villa Manager Gwee, that looked after us so well, pampered us with lovely upgrades and treated and made us feel like royalty. Also to Helen at Tamarind Hill who delighted us with delicious complimentary cocktails and conversation. I've already told all of my friends that a stay at Villa Samadhi is a must!
Unwind + unplug (great service + amenities) ”
Spent one night to unplug and unwind as a couple. Great experience from checkin to checkout as Villa Samadhi provided lots of complimentary touches which you would normally pay through the nose for at big hotel chains. Rustic colonial setting tucked away near the park it was a good getaway.
Excellent”
For us, our stay was a staycation and Villa Samadhi was perfect for the length of time, location and ambiance. The staff are lovely and quiet and gentle atmosphere was exactly what we needed for the two days we stayed. Having Tamarind Hill adjacent is great as the food is sumptuous.
Wonderful Stay ”
Villa Samahdi was for me a wonderful home from home. It is a beautiful, lovingly restored old black and white colonial house set in Labrador Park, a rare oasis of greenery and wildlife in the futuristic metropolis that is Singapore. I had a large room with a huge comfortable bed and a spacious clean bathroom with a fabulously large hot shower. Breakfast in the adjacent Tamarind Hill Restaurant was a treat and their evening meals were also delicious. Surrounded by trees, Villa Samahdi was peaceful and quiet, apart from birdsong and cicadas. The staff were discreet, friendly and exceptionally helpful. Complementary drinks were served between 6pm-7pm which was a nice touch. It gave me the opportunity to talk to Ramesh, the informative bartender, about the history of the house and the area. I loved my stay in Villa Samahdi and if I return to Singapore I will definitely go back.
