      Excellent for rest and fun!”

This hotel is not in the main part of Chiang Mai, but you won't miss out on the city! Twice daily shuttle will take you where you need to go or the hotel staff can book a taxi for pick up within 30 minutes of request. The location is quiet, with serene grounds overlooking the river. The staff couldn't possibly be more accommodating! This is a hotel great for solo travelers, long-term guests, or families. The manager is very kind and helpful and her English is top notch. This is my second stay at Villa San Pee Seua and I recommend it whole heartedly! In the 1.5 years between my stays, they made some really great improvements that make the stay even better (and there are more in the works)!

Lovely hotel, staff made me feel right at home”

      Excellent service, peaceful, river view

At first I was unsure about this hotel, as it is quite a ways away from the old city and center of Chiang Mai, and I was given a room on the street side, which felt quite cramped and had no view. But upon asking to change rooms, the very friendly, helpful staff quickly accommodated my request and moved me into a beautiful riverside room, which was absolutely perfect. Thereafter, they made me feel right at home. The staff and the peaceful. tranquil location are really the pros of this hotel. It's a perfect way to feel as if you're staying in a villa away from the city without breaking the bank. I noticed a lot of couples and families (I was traveling solo), so you have to be up for that crowd. There are some minor inconveniences: getting to and from the city is easy (the staff call a red car to take you back and forth) but can add up at 150 THB per ride. the pool and hotel kitchen are adequate but unspectacular. Still, compared to staying in the old city, this was a wonderful change. The personal hospitality was really a plus-- as a woman traveling alone, I felt right at home. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Chiang Mai.

      Wonderful Hospitality”

Quiet, great personal service, riverside setting, clean

We stayed at Villa San Pee Seua for one week and had a wonderful, restful time there. The owner, Tee, his daughter and the staff did everything and more to make our visit enjoyable. They both speak excellent English, having both lived in North America. We loved the quiet setting and the breakfasts beside the Ping River. Tee or his staff transported us into town whenever we asked. We heartily recommend this small hotel if you are looking for a nice place just outside of Chiang Mai to relax.

Great hotel, not the best location ”

      Room size, view, staff

I will start off by saying we are not "budget" travelers and stay at nice hotels normally. The Villa San Pee Seua is great. The rooms were big and the grounds are very nice. There is a pool, it's on a river, very pretty. Its certainly not luxury but the rooms are adequate and a nice size compared to other hotels we stayed in in SE Asia. We had some issues with hot water but they may have been a fluke. Breakfast was good and the staff was super nice, especially Prae! The one drawback is the location. If you want to be near the city this is doable but not convenient. We did some day trips while we were there but ended up in the city at night for dinner or shopping at the end of the day and it's about 20 minutes back to the hotel. If you plan on staying a while this is a good option, but if you are just checking out Chiang Mai for a few days you may want to stay somewhere more centrally located. All in all we enjoyed our stay!

A great hotel away from the madding crowd. ”

Friendly, home style, cosy and clean.

We stayed for almost a week at the Villa and t was delightful. Preh the daughter of the Villa's owner was super friendly and very helpful in making our stay pleasant and enjoyable. We had all the comforts of home and although we were about 15 minutes out of the city, we were always able to song teaw in without difficulty - they also have a great system with mobile phones that you can borrow to call back to the villa should you need a pick up from the city and have difficulty trying to explain where your villa is located. Preh is also very knowledgeable about the city and where all the good restaurants and tourists must-dos are. Their morning breakfasts are great and the selection is commendable and they replenish regularly too. A great stay and I would return to stay there when I am next in Chiang Mai. Because it is on the river and away from the city, mornings are best there. The air is fresh and there is no city rush. a great escape.

huge rooms & wonderful staff but not 4 stars”

Gigantic rooms, lovely location by the river, incredibly friendly and accommodating staff, decent breakfast, free boat shuttle to city

we originally booked a family suite, but asked to change to a two-bedroom as the layout of the family suite was a bit inconvenient. the family suite has 4 floors with a large living room area, but only the bedrooms have a/c so the living room was really not that useful during hot season. (also, our kids often wake at night so we were concerned they would have a hard time finding us in the maze of rooms). the manager/owner was very accommodating and let us switch to the two-bedroom right away, which was the right size for us. the bedrooms were huge, with a small balcony off the master bedroom. unfortunately, although the furniture was beautiful, the rest of the room could really have used a bit of remodeling--there were stains on the walls, moldy patches on the ceiling, etc, and the bathroom was dingy with cracked moldy grout. it was definitely not a 4 star room. we were also disappointed to find out that the boat shuttle into the city only ran once every two days (it was one of the main reasons we booked this hotel). my guess is it runs more often during high season, but if you plan to come during low season, be forewarned. that said, it was a great price for a huge room, beautiful garden, lovely location right by the river. breakfast was good, and the staff were some of the friendliest i've ever encountered. you could do a lot worse with a family in chiang mai!

nice little garden, excellent service, very helpful

As a local Chiang Mai resident, this was a perfect little getaway for 4 moms with our teenage daughters. We stayed in the town home with a few extra beds. Huge master bedroom. It was lovely. Being right on the river during the Loy Krathong Festival was great - fireworks and the hot air lanterns were a fun addition. Breakfast wasn't anything special and our orders were messed up a little, but okay. Clean pool, pretty location. We had our own vehicles; a bit difficult to find, but worth the trip.

Great spacios family room with two sleeping rooms and two bathrooms

A family run hotel with the most friendly and helpful staff. Especially the daily manager is very pays attention to the guests and seems to know (or will find out) every thing you want to know in Chiang Mai. ...and the staffs love for children is the best! We enjoyed 6 nights here.
