Misleading photos of property ”
Impression from site/Agoda was that it was a 4 star property. We had the ‘deluxe’ garden view room 1) deluxe is a very generous stretch 2) room was musty 3) garden view consisted of staring at a plant 4) breakfast buffet was only available day 1, after that you could chose from 2 fruits and some breads 5) charged $30 USD round trip to airport, which doesn’t seem like alot, until you factor in that translates to 256,000 kip - enough for a massage, dinner for two, and a snack at the night markets!

We booked 6 rooms at the Villa Santi for our wedding that was held in Luang Prabang. Aside from our 6 rooms, we had 43 people fly over from the United States, and used the Villa Santi as our home base for the week. We enjoyed drinks on the patio and food (really good!) almost every single night. The staff were extremely accommodating, and assisted with several issues other members in our group had - not related to the Villa Santi at all (dead battery on car, left carry on bag in airport van, etc.) I look forward to our next trip to LPQ and thank everyone at Villa Santi for making our special week extra special!

Charming hotel right in the center of action”
After a long 15 hour drive from Bangkok and dinner at the nearby L'Elephant restaurant, I was definitely ready to crash in bed. Check-in was quick, I was told to park my car in the side street separating the main building with the building where the guest rooms are because the main road hosts the daily alms giving in the morning. After going to my room, I noticed it wasn't quite what I expected - although the bed was comfy and the bathroom was nice, there wasn't a separate desk with chair for working on. However, there was space on the long table to place my laptop and I used one of the stools to sit on. There was also no pool just a small fountain, however, I wouldn't have had time to go for a swim as my next destination was Jinghong, China another long drive ahead of me. Breakfast was nice too. I felt the room rate was just a little high but other than that I would consider staying again, though there are many other nice options in town.
Beautiful old Villa style hotel in perfect spot with lovely pool”
Great old style hotel with beautiful rooms ( bathroom plumbing needs an upgrade - the hot water takes a awhile to run). I stayed in a suite which gave me access to a beautiful small pool just off my room shared by only three other rooms.

Old colonial style house in the centre of town with the same atmosphere.”
The main building has the charm and character of a bygone French colonial age but most of the bedrooms are in a separate building down the road. Our room - a Junior Suite - was large and well equipped but the decor needed updating. The main bonus of this hotel is the quirky, small pool which was invaluable to cool off in after a days exploring. More comfy outdoor furniture and better quality towels wouldn't go amiss
Location is the best”
Villa Santi was a first choice because the location was not far from everywhere. We had old parent can't walk too much, not far to night market, restaurant and historic temple nearby. Breakfast don't have too much choices but good taste. It should be better if hotel can offer the bicycle for guests.
Great Location a Rather Disappointing Stay”
We were looking forward to our return to Luang Prabang and a stay at the Villa Santi which was being renovated during our last visit. A disappointing first impression as one had to walk over many broken tiles in the lobby ( as it was low season you would think Management would correct this issue.) Booked a Royal Suite the Vishnau, not a good location as on the main street and the early morning pantry was the other side of our bathroom and one was woken up every morning around 6.00am with the staff noise. The room was spacious and well appointed but not well maintained: 1) shower head broken....was fixed 2) Bathroom sink, the taps were wrongly labeled,"hot was cold and cold was hot"..not corrected 3) Toilet wax seal had failed and constant sewerage smell in the bathroom 4) A/C the hand held control ..the thermostat didn't work....no matter what you did 18 Degrees was the same as 30 Degrees...had to get up at night to switch off as too cold. Housekeeping didn't pick up on any of this.?? At breakfast every day I ordered per the menu Cornflakes and Banana...the last day they had no bananas.....I laughed, as the Town is full of bananas...in fact the shop opposite were selling them....sloppy management there I think! Stayed 4 Nights and the free WiFi didn't work, the reception staff struggled with the idea that it was working, but with a download speed of less than 1Mbps.I could not receive or send my business Emails. Resorted to going down the street to a Cafe and my friend was staying at a near hotel and I went there..they had at least 10Mbps....very annoying and an indifferent air to a solution. Of course all the staff were pleasant and charming but need better training...overall I think the Hotel needs a more pro-active and professional Management .....EG: no one came to me over the WiFi even after complaining daily. The Villa Santi has great potential in a great central location, but needs to be managed better if it is going to prosper.
Great location and good breakfast”
Service was fast and friendly, location was superb as it is within walking distance to everything we needed such as popular eateries, tour agents, local convenience store, night market, the bamboo bridge across the Nam Khan River, the Mekong river and the best is (if you plan to do alms giving), the monks walk past the main entrance of the villa which means you can carry out alms giving right at the doorstep of the villa. At the same time, it is located in a quiet area. You can have the staff prepare everything for alms giving at USD10. The room was clean, practical and comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. Although there is a pool, it is only a small one which seemed more like a small fountain pool than a swimming pool. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel and Luang Prabang.
Great hotel right in the middle of town”
great place to stay with two small kids. the location was perfect, down a quiet street but at the same time right near many of the most important historical sites, the breakfast was also very good and best of all were the very attentive and friendly staff. they were great with the kids. it made the whole long weekend a success. will certainly come back.
This hotel is in a wonderful old mansion, with the perfect location in the old town, a mere stones throw from the historic centre. Service is excellent, rooms are comfortable and spacious, and the breakfast good and well presented. We did not eat there in the evening (too many other options throughout the town) but the main dining area perhaps lacks atmosphere. There is a small plunge pool in the main courtyard, sufficient to cool down in but not for a real swim.
Outstanding hotel--wonderful three days”
This was our first stop on our trip through south east asia. We were impressed with every aspect of this hotel. They have set a very high standard. The staff from the desk, to the room cleaning women were gracious and welcoming. When I left my iphone in the room one of the cleaning women ran to the car to bring it to me. Breakfast was terrific. Location was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the city. Looking forward to retuning.
Best place ever”
Everything started with a flight cancellation, i was forced to contact them via Agoda to postpone my stay. Surprise, no penalty but an upgrade on their best room. Amazing. At the end i extended my stay for an additional day. Reccomended!!!
Hotel in the centre of town - excellent location”
The hotel was located close to the night market and other sites in the old town. We really felt like we were honoured guests there as the managment and staff always took extra care to ensure our comfort and convenience. I would highly recommend Villa Santi to anyone planning to stay in Luang Prabang. Thank you very much, Villa Santi team!!
the hotel is located just in the center and i cannot iimagine a better place. the building is very nice with garden, small pool and many places to relax. the rooms are large and made in old style with a very beautiful design. we have been very happy with our stay after we tried other hotels in lp before. some of the staff is not very responsiveness - that is the only drawback. breakfast is served in 1st floor with nice terrace. everything you need for eating is available and breakfast here was a joy. the restaurant is good but compared to other restaurants nearby very expensive. better eat somewhere outside, there are so many places.
One of the best places to stay in Luang Prabang”
This hotel was a place I first stayed at in 1997, when it was one of only a few hotels in town. They have consistently upgraded to stay in the top rank of hotels in Luang Prabang. Everything from check in to check out was handled very efficiently, the room was spacious and comfortable, clean and quiet.Their location is one of the best in town, close to all the major attractions, and many nice restaurants very nearby.
Villa Santi - a charming hotel”
This was my 3rd time in Luangprabang and always want to stay at Villa Santi but it was fully booked. Luckily I got a room this time and so glad I had a chance to stay here. The lobby and restaurant on 2nd floor were nice. I enjoyed having breakfast at the restaurant's balcony and observing activities on Luangprabang's road. Hotel location is also very convenient. It's on the walking distance to Xiangthong temple and night market. In the early morning, there are hundreds of monk passing by the hotel and I can join alm giving ceremony. Room is also quite convenient and standard.
Charming hotel in perfect location”
We were really pleased with the location of this hotel – which is absolutely perfect. It’s situated in the peninsula part of the old town just two blocks away from the Mekong River, close to but far enough away from the night market area to be very peaceful. Our room was in the very charming Annex, which is just a short walk across the road from the main building; in fact most of the hotel’s rooms are in the Annex, which is a beautiful old traditional building in a tropical garden. We particularly enjoyed our breakfast out on the balcony of the dining room every morning overlooking the street, served by very friendly and helpful staff, and also had a very good lunch at the hotel on Monday during our stay. Although the hotel’ facilities are quite limited – we didn’t really think it was worth taking the shuttle bus to the resort part of the hotel to use their facilities – for us this was very much outweighed by the really wonderful location of the hotel and it’s traditional charm.
Dear Keith, Thank you for choosing Villa Santi Hotel for your stay and for sharing your positive experience with other guests. We are glad to hear that you had a good stay at our property and that our team met your expectations. We look forward to your next stay with us and wish you a safe journey back home. All the best & kind regards, Villa Santi Hotel Team
Return visit annex is shocking ”
We have stayed in the main building and based on that rebooked but this time was put in the annex. It was awful no hot water, dark, damp and furniture wood like 20+ years old in state of disrepair. Don’t stay here unless Main building.
Perfect location for the alms giving. Colonial style, very calm for a relaxing stay but the swimming pool is very small (a shuttle takes the guests to Villa Santi Resort 20 minutes away for a "real" swimming pool + nice restaurant with great service too).
Every time I travel to Luang Prabang I always stay at this hotel. The hotel is clean and close to everything.
