Simply a lovely place to stay in quiet LP”
great location, friendly staff and clean rooms
The location, smack bang in the middle of the old town, couldn't be better and it's right around the corner from the main street. Rooms are clean and a decent size with a cosy bathroom. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was basic but the omelettes were delicious. I'd definitely stay here again.

i have no problem recommending this hotel. i would definitely stay here again. it's good value. the breakfasts are good. pleasant gardens. the hotel is in a central location in the old town, and the rooms are tastefully decorated with beautiful wooden floors. note: this hotel is next door to a temple so you can get woken up by the drums but i personally found it very pleasant to hear the monks chanting.

Comfortable hotel, much newer than pictures show!”
Central location, comfortable and recently renovated rooms, friendly staff
We were pleasantly surprised with Villa Saykham. The rooms have been recently updated and are much nicer than the current pictures show: some of the more comfortable beds that we have had in Southeast Asia; lots of beautiful, dark wood touches; bright, clean bathroom. When the staff found out that we were gluten free they went out of their way to make sure we had enough food to eat at breakfast. The location can't be beat in terms of centrality but do prepare yourself for the occasional 4am wake up call from the temple next door. It only lasts a few minutes and it's certainly part of the charm of Luang Prabang.

The location, peace and quiet and the monks next door just added to the charm
Our stay was most enjoyable even when the monks next door wake you at 4am with their drums only adds to the charm. Shame no tea & coffee facilities in the room, people DO like this wherever they travel

Pleasant ambience, pleasant room, water pressure substandard (to the point, where taking a shower was an time consuming ordeal) Our good friends stay at the hotel on a regular basis and agreed that the location is good, ambience is good, room is good, but the water pressure is no good, so showering unacceptable but they are used to the poor water pressure

      Location, location, location
The room I was in was very dark, very cold, and the staff was unhelpful when I asked to switch rooms to something upstairs that would be brighter (I was staying for 4 nights and asked after the first night). The Villa Saykham is in a good location, but not nearly as charming as several other guest houses and boutique hotels nearby. Also, it was really cold in the mornings (8 degrees centigrade) and they serve breakfast outside despite having an inside room with a big dining table (the inside seemed to be where staff hung out although it could be used for guests). Also, the breakfast was very meager. Instead of a glass of juice, they serve a sugared "Tang" like drink and the coffee was the weakest I have ever tasted in Asia. Overall, this place was a letdown.

      Clean, centrally located, good breakfast
We enjoyed our stay at Villa Saykam. The staff was welcoming and accomadating. We ended up staying a 3rd night but had to change rooms. The second room we stayed in smelled like cigarette smoke but we opened the windows and it seemed to help with the problem. The first room was right next to the Monks drum so we were woken up by the beating of the drum the first 2 mornings at 0400. Despite these 2 things we enjoyed our stay.

Great location, spotlessly clean, good value”
Location, close to morning alms procession, clean & comfortable
This is a great mid-range option close to the 3 main streets in the old town peninsula, everything is 5-10 mins walk, including restaurants and shops, and no need for tuk-tuks. Also not in the economy/backpacker section if you're keen to avoid that scene. It's right next door to a temple so there is some noise from the ceremonies (mainly drumming and chanting) but for me this was part of the charm. Plus it's right on the route for the morning alms procession at dawn. Room was spotlessly clean with a comfortable bed and good aircon, lovely gardens. Laundry service prompt and reasonably priced. Breakfast a bit average and staff mostly very attentive. Wifi coverage not great, very slow at reception area and non-existent in my room, but free wifi available at many cafes nearby (wifi across Luang Prabang can be a bit slow and patchy in general in my experience).

      Location, helpful and friendly staff
Perfect location, just off Sisavangvong/Sakkaline Road, close to the Royal Palace museum and the Night Market. Staff is friendly and helpful and rooms are spacious. We had no problems with the hot water. WiFi is free but don't expect 4G speeds. Luang Prabang is a delightful place to visit. I usually find guidebook statements like "a relaxed place where your pulse slows down" to be nothing more than hollow cliches, but for Luang Prabang it actually rings true. Our favourite was the Kuang Si waterfall. We took a boat to a village close to the falls (took about an hour) and then our boatman, mr Atdee, helped us arrange a truck ride for the final 20 minutes.

good location, very central, next to a tempel
So first of all when we arrived we needed to search for the hotel for ages as nobody in the city knew it and the number printed on Agoda is WRONG. It´s the number of the manager in Vientiane who does not answer the phone. We were very pissed of about this and their reaction about our complaints were not really professional. The place itself is okay, nothing special, almost no choice for the breakfast and just fairly okay equipped rooms. Location is very quiet so that´s nice, it´s also very central and almost directly at the night market and alms giving location, actually the alms receiving monks walk exactly in front the hotel in the morning. So: don´t expect super service or anything super, but they got a good location.

Central location, spacious room, nice courtyard
The hotel is in a very central location. You may have to put up with some drumming and clashing cymbals as early as 4 plus am on certain holy days as there is temple just next door - it happened to us on one out of the three days we were there. But guess you can just go back to sleep after that as it doesn't last too long. The room was spacious - we had a triple room - and tastefully decorated. A bit of problem controlling the hot water in the shower - kept switching between being too cold or too hot. But no complaints other than that. There wasn't much variety for breakfast - but having it al fresco in the courtyard was nice.

Lovely solid polished wood floors and furniture, with a shady garden for breakfast.
The monks pass the front of this guest house each morning. But beware the temple next door, some mornings the drummming started at 4am. For the price, the inclusive breakfast lacked variety and was just plain boring. They could offer some patisserie, with so much available in town.

Just off the main drag this place made staying in LP a real treat. It was just down the road from the night market and the stairs to Mt. Location
This is very nice small hotel. We took room for 3 even though it was only 2 of us. Room for 3 is overlooking the streets and you can watch the monks every morning. Room was big enough but the bathroom was tiny. Staff was nice but quiet - no interaction with guests probably due to limited English. Street was quiet, all restaurants were just behind the corner and the night market was starting just few blocks away. The place was also located equal distance between the two rivers. This is not a fancy hotel, just a regular guesthouse. What you pay for is what you get. Room for 3 was 50 us dollars - so small bathroom and hand held shower should not be a reason to complain. Breakfast was simple but made to order. Eggs , toast and fruit every day.

We loved this hotel. The room is filled with wooden fittings and has a great ambience. The Wat next door adds to this with the monks' morning drums and chanting. It is very quiet but the main street is around the corner and breakfast is simple but good. Most things are within walking distance, including the river cruises, night markets, great restaurants and shopping. We would highly recommend this hotel.
