This is quite expensive for the standard of room which OK but nothing impressive. We had 2 rooms overlooking the river which was amazing. Without that I don't think I'd have paid that much. The breakfast was very good and it's easy to go out and find somewhere to eat in the evening. The swimming pool was quite cold but that seems normal in Thailand and Laos. On a later trip my wife and I used another cheaper hotel as we had my stepdaughter with us so I had to pay for 2 rooms myself. I'm glad experienced the room overlooking the river though.
Excellent hotel with amazing view. ”
i was traveling with friends on a photography trip to vang vieng. we did not expect too much as the price was very cheap. but after we checked in, we were amazed at the facilities for the price that we paid. the breakfast is held in an excellent location next to the river with a good view of the bridge. the hotel is situated in the center of town with lots of restaurants and massage parlors. massage is cheap at kip (little less than us$ 7) for oil massage (i usually pay us$ 30 in thailand where i am staying). excellent massage just a few minutes walk from the hotel. highly recommended.
Well located hotel”
Very well located hotel in the middle of Vang Vieng, Laos. We were traveling from Luang Prabang by van to Vang Vieng and arrived late at midnight. There was a receptionist waiting for us and quicly showed us to our rooms. We got the rooms next to the river. The rooms are beautiful with a large size bathroom attached. For the price that we paid, it was well worth it. The breakfast was a bit limited but the view was excellent from the restaurant. Highly recommended.
Great place, people and location”
stayed one night and wish we could have stayed longer. resort right on river with sounds of gurgling water to help relax and soothe you in the evening. food was excellent and staff was friendly and helpful. do take the boat trip up river beautiful scenery and very relaxing.
nice hotel facility, room could be bigger”
We were very impressed when we walked into the hotel, bungalows, lawn, pool and view. A bit disappointed of the room as the expectation was high, the room was tiny there was not even a closet. The bathroom is huge in comparison, the light is not very bright making the shower/bath very dark with the curtains close. The bed is comfy and clean, breakfast was good, view by the pool is stunning, can't complaint too much with this price.
we would recommend it.”
The resort is in a quiet area but we were able to walk into the main town within 10 mins. the restaurant offers good food and overlooks the river. the pool is clean and refreshing. The staff are very helpful and happy - the room was clean and very comfortable but a bit small - it didnt bother us though. The bathroom was huge with top ups of all the lotions and potions every day. the bungalow has a patio where you can sit and unwind. The wifi was a tad slow but we got through ok in the end. There was some building work going on which is necessary to keep a resort fresh and modern - building work seems to be happening all over Laos. The town was not full of drunk teenagers due to new laws concerning the high death rate of drownings when tubing. We enjoyed our tubing experience alone of the river for 2 hours drifting with the current amongst the fantastic scenery. We stayed at Villa Vang Vieng Riverside for 5 days and loved it.
Old but not bad”
Stayed here 2nights. I booked double bed room but they didn’t prepared for one night. I went there with my boyfriend and they’d like to give us twin bed room. So I strongly said I don’t want it and they change our room eventually. If you have some special request, you should double check about it. The room condition is not bad but I didn’t like the light and the bed at standard double room. The light was too dark and the bed was squeak. Staffs are kind and they did their best to provide a good service about I asked. Of course they speak good English.
Nice river view and staffs
We were very pleased with our stay here. The location on the river with the view was wonderful. There was some renovations taking place - I think they are moving the pool. So whilst there were people working on this during the day it did not affect our stay and the improvements will make the hotel even better. We did have an issue with one of the toilets but this was sorted immediately when we informed the staff. My only complaint would be the state of the wooden decking around the pool but this will be fixed by the new pool which is being created.
Arrogant staff not undertsanding english. Took us half an hour to checked in to the room (because we were interrupted their happy hour drinking session beside the lobby). Got a room changed due the controller of the hot water was broken. I need to louder my voice for them to change me to another room as the staff not undertand "NO HOT WATER" and insist they will send in the technician to fix until it is ok but that time was already 10pm. The instruction printed and sticked on the wall to instruct us how to turn on the hot water was also totally wrong, it was opposite direction which they are instructed. BIG cockcroachs found in bathroom running around. The garden view room was lousy and smelly. No hair dryer given in the room but the pricelist of missing stuff showed they are providing, so I quickily walked to the front reception to get one ( I don't want to get accuse I steal it the next day when I check out). No phone in the room, anything you need just walk to the reception front entrance (troublesome), So trust me, I did quite a lot of trips to the reception that particular night. The front view of the hotel was attractive especially the massage room facing the main entrance (we thought their standard as high as the massage place). Breakfast was awlful, cold toasted breads, cold small sausages, cold eggs, and cold bacon ( we were like eating cold plate of breakfast). Location is good, next to the only paying bridge in Vang Vieng which leads to te Blue Lagoon. Except the location of the hotel, nothing else are good.
I'll start with the positive. The location is great, the staff are extremely friendly, breakfast is good, the view is wonderful and the grounds are lovely and impeccably landscaped. Unfortunately, there were several issues with our room that made this hotel extremely overpriced and completely disappointing overall. When we arrived and checked in to our riverfront bungalow we noticed that the water wasn't working. Turns out it was off for the entire property and it didn't end up working until late into the evening. Once the water came on it had a strange orange color and an awful iron-y smell to it for the rest of our 2-night stay. We didn't use the TV but it's worth mentioning that it was ancient and had horrible picture quality (meaning it was difficult to make out what you were watching). Furthermore, the room has terrible build quality. For instance the tiles were separating from the shower walls and the sink basin and faucets were extremely wobbly. But all of this I can somewhat live with. The absolute deal breaker was the AC. Our first night it did not function very well. I spent forever playing with it the next morning and I got it to work a little better. The second night, however, it was barely functioning at all. We asked one of the hotel workers to come and look at it and to give us a fan if he couldn't fix it. He came but didn't understand what we were saying. He knew that the AC was barely working but left anyway and never came back. That night was miserable. By about midnight the AC shut off completely and without a fan the room was sweltering. It got so bad that we had to sleep on the veranda until we couldn't stand the mosquitos anymore. Upon checking out the next day we told the front desk worker about our experience, and said that this was one of the worst nights at a hotel we'd ever experienced. He apologized and said he would speak to his manager. We never heard anything back. Personally, I think they should have refunded some
Songkran Concert Thumping Speakers in our Room?”
Avoid this place like the plague during Songkran the music (base) was actually louder in the room than outside due to the concrete wall near the river which sucked up the base and pumped it into our room The Pool was seriously over chlorinated and anyone who wen't in there came out with a serious rash For the amount of money in Laos this place is not worth the money
Excellent Adventure to Vang Vieng”
Hi some how our initial agodo on line booking let us down. However I am so glad it did as we got to stay accross the road at the Vang Vieng Riverside and could begin to explain what a wonderful time we had. The manager her staff and location were all top of our list this time around. I also like to thank everyone for the most memerable Buddhist new year. Wish I could post some picture as they speak better than words Giselle and Pete
A nice quiet stay”
Very pleasant, staff friendly, grounds well kept, nice pool, view, and decent breakfast with several options. Would have loved more info at check in about services and the area. Room very clean and beautiful, just a slightly loose sink faucet no big problem. The bungalows have minimal insect issues surprisingly for so close to the river. Quiet except you can occasionally hear your neighbor if you have one, but seems to be a respectful group staying here, families and couples. Can by drinks to take to the pool, but not specifically pool side service, which is just fine. Again, breakfast good selection. When very few guests staying, they have you order what you want front he menu without limits on number of items. If they are out of something, just mention it and they quickly bring you more than enough.
The view, grounds, outside were pristine. Inside, a little cramped and not sparkling, but reasonably clean. Biggest issue was the place was filled with loud, noisy guests who brought in girls late at night that didn't appear to be registered guests. They made a racket all night long; our group was in 5 separate rooms and everyone could hear the noise from these "guests." Vang Vieng seems very seedy now, maybe this is just par for the course, but it really detracted from our stay.
Surrounded by nature”
Stayed at one of its bangalows and it was lovely. Though it made a squeeky noise when i walk on the floor and the room was a bit small, it had a big bathroom and had a nice atmosphereM that perfectly fit to Vang Vieng. Located right in front of the river, which gives relaxing vibe to the hotel
In the room you can hear everything”
For my only best thing is location, restaurant is not much good. The staff has no service mind and not much nice, they just do their job. In your room, you can hear everything from outside like noise from the boat, staff sweeping in the morning, staff chatting in front of your room etc. I didn't try their spa. In the room, there is no cabinet, dryer anyway the bathroom is very big but it's not enough privacy because the bathroom window is on the pathway and bathroom curtains are too light then you can hear and see people outside and I think they can hear you. Other curtains in the room are white which can't hide from sun light.
Clam and Comfortable”
I love it place. I had one night in there, very nice. Room, bathroom are clean. If you need hair dryer, just ask staff. The staff is very nice. they wannna help us. I can not forget that i lie sunbed and drink wine at night (so many stars in the sky)
Always a Nice Stay”
This hotel is located right on the river. The staff are nice. The rooms are decent, although there are better options in Vang Vien for similar prices. I've stayed here a few times and am never disappointed. A huge advantage is the pool. Also the hotel is in a quiet area.
Not Good and Feel Bad”
This is my first time that I sleep in this hotel. I book deluxe room. This hotel is very clean. The staff is friendly. The bathroom is not small. The bed is not big. The room is small. This hotel has a small swimming pool. This hotel is not worth because in the room, there is no television; refrigerator, no hair dryer, and the light is not very bright, so the room is a bit dark. In other hotel that I have stayed, at Vang Vieng, they all have television, refrigerator and hair dryer and the price is cheaper than this hotel. The restaurant in the hotel close very early it, close at 6:00p.m.My favorite thing is there is free Wi-Fi .The hotel located nearby River. I don't like this hotel next time when I come to Vang Vieng I will not stay here again
