Best Bed & Breakfast In Davao City”
The hosts were great! Gerard and Rose graciously took care of our every need. The food was superb! The cuisine ranges from European to American to Filipino. The beef, pork, poultry and chicken are of the highest quality. They have an excellent selection of beverages too! Gerard took us on a fabulous tour. The rates were less than if I had rented a car. And who wants to try and navigate unfamiliar roads in a rented car? It was so relaxing to sit back and enjoy the ride. The room was clean and comfortable as it comes with hot shower, air-conditioning, WiFi, TV, mini bar and even room service. The garden area is complete with a waterfall and pond. Don't forget to say hello to the fish in the pond. In the garden area you will find plenty of chairs, tables and a swing so you can sit, have a beverage, chat with other guests, relax and enjoy the outdoors. Villa Viva Belgica is conveniently located so that you can visit all that Davao City has to offer. Gerard and Rose will call you a taxi when you want to venture out into the city. The taxi services are metered and the drivers are licensed. And Gerard can advise you as to the best places to visit. Honestly, it was a pleasure to stay at Villa Viva Belgica.

Home away from home”
It's in a subdivision so felt like a village within a city. The owner and staff were so friendly and helpful with ideas on what to see in Davao City. The home cooked meals were comforting and well worth their prices. The house and garden had a relaxed and cosy atmosphere which I liked so much I decided to check out late which was no problem for them. There's a nice koi pond which I spent a lot of time watching. I would definitely come back again, thank you Villa Viva Belgica!

Good Place to Stay”
I stayed there 2 nights and it was a good stay. The owner is super friendly and helpful as is the whole staff. Belgica is like a cross between a hotel and apartelle. It is in a great location (Ma'a) as it is not so busy as downtown Davao. It's in a neighborhood that has security access and it is very clean, nice to walk around. Ma'a is good access to the airport as well since you pretty much just stay on the main road to and from Ma'a. The room was clean and nice, they even had slippers for guests. The owner is a Belgium expat - so foreigners get good advice from him. There is a group of expats that live in that neighborhood and meet there on Saturdays, unfortunately I wasn't there for it but am sure it is great and welcoming since there were some expats there I spoke with, all very nice and helpful. The wifi is great there (some hotels in the Philippines this is not so, but here it is). A refrigerator to keep your drinks cold and complimentary instant coffee. Only down sides, not windows in the room I stayed in (no big deal really - who comes to stay in the room all day?). Breakfasts are not complimentary, but I think the prices were reasonable. I didn't eat there only because we got our start so fast each day we ate on the road. Overall a nice place to stay for the money and would recommend it to travelers.

Fantastic guest house, value for money”
It was our second stay at Villa Viva Belgica and we were happy to come back. The room was absolutely fine, tastefully decorated and spotless clean. The location is in a quite area but close to shopping and other activities. The owners take very good care of their guests and this is shown in the quality of the food as well, excellent quality for a fair price. Highly recommended!

Great hosts and staff”
Hosts Rose and Gerard were welcoming and accommodating. Rose even let us taste their home-baked focaccia bread and pizza while we were playing billiards. Overall we had a lovely stay at Villa Viva Belgica and would recommend it to someone who is looking for a good value option, with very friendly hosts and staff.

A great place stay and do work away from downtown”
We booked this bed and breakfast on a whim cause we needed a place with wifi to work, send emails and spend the night without too much expense like in other business hotels and because this place has a decent rating, we went to Villa Belgica without knowing what to expect. Going inside, it felt like we were invading a private house, we were a bit confused on where to go first but thankfully we met one of the crew there and she gave us free welcome drinks - truly unexpected for the price we paid for and it was perfect as we were walking around before arriving. The room we booked has a homey vibe and all the basic essentials are there including a mini ref. The wifi is actually good and there was a working desk available. At night, the humble garden is peaceful and you can enjoy your dinner there. The food that they offer is a mix of European and Asian cuisines with types of wine and other alcohols and just like at home, you order it directly from the kitchen. The servings are pretty big and the taste is worth it for the price so again it was unexpected. Another plus for this place is that the people here are friendly and can cater to your requests. If there was a designated check in counter, it'll be more perfect. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay. We might come back here if we're around the area again.

Peaceful and quiet with excellent food”
I previously stayed here last year and confused Belgica with another small hotel where we stayed and filed a negative review in error. This Belgica pension is one of the best places we have ever stayed. The staff is terrific and the accomodations are superb.

nice place”
This is a gem of a place. It is in a very quiet and secure compound just out of the noisy, dirty city. The manager Rose is always accomadating. Nothing is too much trouble. The girls who work there are also very friendly and nice. It is a pleasure seeing them every day. They don't have many rooms so it is very homey. The food is very good. I must admit that their lasagne is pretty close to the best I have had in SE Asia. It seems that every time I order it there in SE Asia it is always a big disappointment. But I had it two times in the 6 days I stayed and enjoyed it both times. I took most meals there since you are fairly isolated from going to other places on foot close by.. there is one excellent Italian place up the end of the road on the corner of the north bound MacArthur Highway, Picobellos. That is worth a shot. I used to eat at this place years ago when it was in town on Quirino Avenue. It rellocated to Woodlane just near the traffic lights. The only down side was the awful internet. if you do not need an internet which is fast or not at all then why would you stay elsewhere??? I need the internet so I was left exasperated most of the time. I have been told that a new tower has been built and soon the internet will be miles better.... well.... seeing is believing. I will be back in Davao january and even if the internet is not brilliant I will still stay here again most emphatically! peace and quiet is priority. Worth considering.... I recomend it highly!

So Homey”
I was so satisfied with my stay in this hotel. It is actually a house located inside a subdivision. The staff were all great. They were so accommodating, and they will really treat you like a regular visitor. They really make sure your stay is comfortable as they attend to all your needs. Rooms are spacious. I did not have any problem during my stay. This is a must-stay place for those who visit Davao. Location is a bit far from the city center, but it offers a quiet environment which really allows you have a good sleep without any disturbance.

Nice House but no privacy”
Well This place need lots of lil maintenance. We booked blue room but water wasnot working in toilet and shower or sink so owner offered us any room. Downstairs rooms-one is native large room but next to kitchen so you can hear all the activities, if you like privacy, donot book downstairs rooms. We end up staying in Orange room. Upstair room has larger beds. owner gave us mangos from tree located in the front yard. Nice front yard, it the geralds house he converted in to pension house. Very secure. We hated DAVAO cause its dead town, really plus people excessively talk about their mayor and you can see the fear of this guy in town. Malls are very close, easy to get taxi, owner has several contact, very close to the samal island. Owner is trying to accommodate your every needs, there is pool table downstair TV watching area, dining room and swing in the front. Good for large families as couple it was okay for us.

BEST Experience of many years of travel to Davao”
They make your stay feel like a home away from home. The Staff is friendly, helpful and always polite. And a special shout-out to Christine who helped me get my phone connected and ready to go. She knows so much about cell phones... better than any tech support you get when you call any company (Thank you Christine) And what can I say about Gerard. You will never find another place like his. It was like meeting an old friend. He's so kind and generous with his time and helpful with anything you need. The facilities are clean, peaceful and very comfortable. From now on I will never stay at those expensive hotels. The food is to die for. He serves the best and the prices are unreal. Try the Australian Beef Filet. It's huge and only $10 US. Potatoes, veggies and salad.... I'm beginning to sound like a commercial, lol. You will love the dining area with beautiful plants and koi pond. huge koi and a mesmerizing water falls. Thanks Gerard. Don't hesitate to book a room.

Excellent guesthouse in a green and clean area”
It is really great to be in this guesthouse. Very nice and helpful staff, excellent food, close to the city center, guarded subdivision with many beautiful houses around, 100 metres from a park where children can play. The guesthouse itself have a very nice garden, there are 4 terraces so you can have private talks everywhere you want. It's situated in a very green area. When sitting in the garden you will see the green hills with palmtrees everywhere and you will hear the noises of birds regularly. There is no pollution in this area.

Excellent service, staff, very comfortable ”
Really cool, safe, friendly, helpful and cosy place. Room and bed were great. Had a bathtub too. Good wifi. Great food and beer. Pool table and nice garden. Super helpful for anything you need. If they had even a small pool I'd want to stay for months. Really appreciate the great attitude and European and Filipino combined considerations here.

Not actually a hotel”
Based from the reviews and pictures, we expected this place to be a hotel. It is actually a house converted to accommodate multiple guests in private rooms. As such, it lacked the conveniences one would expect from a hotel. The dining area, for example, was a dining room, and it felt a bit awkward for us to use the dining area since we were only guests. Staff are very welcoming, for sure. General area was on the dusty side but not too dirty. Bathroom constantly had leaks in the sink and shower heater area. Very good if you want a place that feels like a "home" (with the kinks one could expect from their own home), but definitely not a hotel.
