A captivating experience awaits at Village Hotel Katong by Far East Hospitality (SG Clean Certified). Located in the heart of Katong district, home of the Peranakans, this hotel is a short 15-minute drive from the city. The first thing you will notice when you are here is how vibrant coloured interiors elegantly reflect the intricate Straits-Chinese architectural design.
From here, all things Peranakan are within walking distance. Culture vultures will enjoy exploring the five-foot ways and narrow lanes where Peranakan crafts and cuisine thrive. Foodies will also love the fact that the famous Katong Laksa, the coconut curry rice noodles, is just around the corner. For recreational activities, head to East Coast Park, a local favourite weekend spot for picnics, cycling, rollerblading, or just a leisure stroll by the beach.

Loved our stay and can't wait to go back!”
We stayed in the Peranakan Club Room and had the best experience staying in Village Hotel Katong. Excellent service by all staff, especially Ashikin, for preparing for the surprise staycation for my husband. The room was beautifully set up and my husband even got a gift and card from the hotel! Breakfast has a good spread (and halal certified!) Room was clean. Bed was super comfortable! Location is good - we can easily uber/grab/walk to East Coast Park, walk to Parkway Parade, and there are many cafes/shops nearby the hotel room. It basically has everything that we look for when staying in hotels. If only we can afford more than one night though. Overall a very pleasant experience! :)
My stay here has ben a positive experience”
Actually this is the previous Paramount hotel and has been completely overhauled with regards to the rooms. The staff in this hotel is exceptional friendly and helpful, always offering a warm smile has well spoken in the English language.Have been checked in by Miss Jane and I would like to recommend her to the management; check-out was arranged by Miss Josephine Ng, that has been a pleasure, too. Josephine even followed up with a few minor complaints of mine and informed me later by email that everything has been taken care of. The rooms are big enough and very comfortable, the bathroom is mosern, big and practical - I liked it. All amenities in the room and bathroom make one stay a pleasant one. Housekeeping as well as engineering are keeping the place clean, tidy and in order. The breakfast in the 4. floor was great, the buffet spread offers something for everybody's taste, the chef at the egg counter prepared my omelette as I like it. The only 'little' set back: its a 100 % no smoking hotel, which I basically don't mind; but it would be nice if the management could look into a possibility to introduce one or two more smoking corners, at present there is only one outside the main entrance around the corner. Bt again, that is not really important. If I need to sty overnight in Singapore again I will definitely consider this place, because I like the east coast area. And, yes, across the main road is Parkway Parade Shopping Mall and if one walks a bit further you can easily reach the east coast park on foot. Access by car is easy, parking is free and access to ECP is also quite fast and easy. Very good place to stay if you prefer the east coast instead of the crowded city.
Beautiful, comfortable, quiet, friendly”
We had a wonderful 7-night stay during the December holidays. We knew upon booking that the location is excellent, near East Coast Park, Parkway Parade mall, and a great hawker center, wet market, and inexpensive shopping plaza. Upon arrival, we were delighted to be greeted warmly, with enthusiastic personal service and an inexpensive room upgrade option (we took it). We ate the included breakfast at the hotel's buffet each morning, and were quite pleased with the quality, selection, and staff. There is no pork, but it took us a few days to realize that, since there were so many other tasty meat options. The restaurant had to handle the holiday rush during our visit, and did a great job. Buffet items were restocked within a few minutes, and they never scrimped on quality or cooking time. Given that Singapore is rather expensive, we found our room to be quite large, with an exceedingly comfortable bed (especially for Asia), and an excellent value for the money. When booking our next visit to Singapore, we will return to the Village Hotel Katong without a moment's hesitation.
Great comfort, staff and local stores around”
Great stay here! A bit away from the city's main attractions but loving all the local restaurants and stores around. They offer free complimentary airport shuttle. The only thing that we personally experienced, which might not be other people's experience, was the fact that our private car couldn't find this hotel easily. We kept circling around looking for it. The hotel has two entrances: one off Marine Parade (25 Marine Parade which is the official address you see on their website and Agoda) and one off East Coast Drive. Also, at the front of the hotel, you see "Katong V", not the name of the hotel as "Village Hotel Katong". However, I hear that the taxis know exactly where it is located. Other than the frustrating moments of not finding it for half an hour, the hotel itself was great. Spacious rooms, very comfortable. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Will definitely recommend it if you don't mind being a little bit away from the MRT system and downtown.
I enjoyed my stay at Village Hotel Katong by Far East Hospitality. I have been to this hotel for staycations for quite a few times and this time round, I have got a free upgrade to Paranakan Club Room and it definitely feels great to be upgraded! Joy, the staff who served us during check in was very helpful and was very efficient when checking us in. It was a fuss free check in and check out. Will definitely recommend everyone to stay here and relax from the hustle and bustle.
Great value, huge beautiful room”
We booked a room at Village Hotel Katong because we were watching the Mariah Carey concert and wanted to avoid the traffic jams. The hotel is a short 5-minute bus ride to and fro the National Stadium. The room is beautifully decorated and the shower is a joy to use. And it is huge, especially for the heavily discounted price we paid. The only issue with the room was there was an ant infestation all around the bed. We got the hotel to clean the room while we were out, but the ants returned. We decided to ignore them, but it really marred the experience of such a tastefully decorated room. The location is great with plenty of eating options all around and East Coast Park just a short 15-minute stroll away for a romantic sunset walk.
Comfortable, relaxing and homey atmosphere”
My stay in village hotel katong was very pleasant. The staff were very friendly and eager to answer any questions you might have. They were extremely helpful in pointing us directions to where we want to go. The dinner buffet was excellent, new years dinner. The breakfast had ample choices for the traveller. Although my misgivings of the breakfast is that it was the same everyday. There was little variations. But the food tasted good. The shopping mall was also a welcome surprise, because i thought east katong would be isolated and far from the shopping centers. Overall, my stay in village hotel katong was excellent. Agoda's rating was indeed true.
Lovely Valentine's stay! :)”
AMAZING customer service at Village Hotel Katong! Especially by Aishah who looked after us in the club lounge, it was so nice of her to let us have the tea/evening cocktails when we were there early just to get some drinks but were kind of hungry! She chatted with us while we enjoyed the food and was well-informed, she was able to tell us about the hotel and the surroundings. She really made us feel at home and was efficient in refilling the drinks/food and offering to make us drinks/change the tv channels etc. It's not a big spread for both the tea (dimsum/peranakan inspired) and the club breakfast, but the food is good, from the hotel restaurant. The club lounge is spacious, open 24 hours(rare!) and they have cookies/chips/drinks all day, with 2 Macs, a printer and reading materials! Except they keep the cookies at night, which we found out after we got back to the hotel at about 11-midnight cause we were peckish again ): We got a free upgrade to the Peranakan club with late checkout for vday, we originally booked the club room(i.e. the one without the bathtub). Really great service, staff came by to refill our complimentary minibar with drinks which I think was not stocked when we first checked in. Love the bathtub in the Peranakan Club! Everything was clean and tastefully designed, with all the amenities you would expect from a 4star place. Our room had a balcony, I believe all the rooms do. Well worth the price! Pool and gym were small but we didn't really mind, just a quick session in the gym and a dip in the pool. Hotel facade is old but don't judge a book by its cover! Convenient location with many food options around ranging from budget(hawker) to expensive, hotel is connected to a mall too. One improvement could be the TV channels offered! The channels are limited. Perhaps some movie channels or a movie library? Oh and maybe leave the cookies out for supper... But these are minor things, overall the stay was great and I would recommend it to everyone!
The stay is meant for my partner's birthday. It is great as the hotel is located near East Coast park and many other place to go. Its great fun going on cycling along East Coast Park, walking along East Coast Road and relaxing at the hotel swimming pool. Highly recommend to walk along East Coast Road, Joo Chiat and Katong Road as its filled with great food and place to chill. Katong I12 nearby got cinema and shopping area as well. Only minus point on this hotel is the closing of the back door around 11pm or so, as the back door link to East Coast Road directly, where lot of night activities go on till late. The Staff are super helpful and friendly, and even offer to extend our check out timing to 2pm upon requested as a complementary. The hotel is very clean and nicely decorated. Room is big no matter the bedroom or the bathroom. Highly recommended for a weekend getaway.
Solid business hotel, but not in central city.”
My first time at this hotel. On past trips to Singapore, I've stayed at Mercur Roxy Hotel next door. Decided to try Katong Village Hotel this time. I much prefer Katong Village Hotel. Location is East Coast suburbs of Singapore -- rather far from the central city. If you are doing tourist sightseeing or Orchard Road shopping this is not convenient. If you are there for business on the Eastern side of Singapore, then very convenient. Deluxe room bright and clean. Very comfortable bed with superb mattress, cozy duvet cover, and soft pillows. I don't care about "decor", but room colors and patterns certainly clash. Enjoyable "rain" shower. Swimming pool is very small, but spotlessly clean with lots of plants and trees all around the pool. At the pool, big, fluffy, towels available. Be aware that sunshine at the pool is blocked by the hotel building (December). That might be different during mid-year with sun overhead. On my second visit to the swimming pool, speakers hidden in the bushes were blaring loud music. A call to the front desk got that turned off within a few minutes. Free shuttle to/from airport. If you use taxi from airport, bring written name of the hotel -- first taxi driver did not know the hotel, and refused to take me. Second taxi driver, no problem at all. Overall: good, solid, business-class hotel. I certainly will book in there again.
Comfortable & Stylish Hotel Near Changi Airport”
I was there with my parents, we were on our way back to Korea and our flight was at (the unholy hour of) 1am. So I was looking for a hotel that was close to Changi Airport, preferably one that would provide a free ride to the airport. Village Hotel Katong fit the bill nicely. And when we arrived, we were not disappointed. My parents loved our room very much; it was very clean, comfy, the wi-fi worked very well, and the bell boy and the front desk staff did their utmost to be helpful. Also, the free shuttle service to the airport went seamlessly. Although, I do recall the shuttle driver being sort of surly... I think he was unhappy with us having so many pieces of luggage or something? I needed to do some last-minute shopping for gifts to take back home for friends and family, and the lady at the front desk was very helpful in this regard. She informed me about the buses stopping right outside the hotel, and I was able to take one to Bugis Village where I bought snacks like Merlion-shaped chocolates and kaya jam, etc. and makeup from Sephora at Bugis+ -- it turns out, for *much* cheaper than at the airport! A 2-bottle set of kaya jam was S$5 versus almost S$10 at Changi Airport! -- and returned to the hotel within a few hours. Also, when we needed a place to go eat dinner at, Parkway Parade was within walking distance, so we looked around and it came down to either Din Tai Fung or Singapore-style hot pot. We opted for dimsum at Din Tai Fund and it was quite good, we were happy customers. If you're looking for a hotel for tourism purposes, I would think a more centrally-located hotel may be in order. But if you need a hotel to stay at near the airport, Village Hotel Katong is a wonderful choice in my opinion and experience.
Modern, Comfortable Hotel. Excellent Value”
We only stayed overnight at the Village Hotel Katong, but couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. We chose the hotel for it's location, as it appeared to be closer to the airport than most, and we had to catch an early flight the next day. We were very pleasantly surprised by many aspects of this hotel and would happily stay here again. It is furnished in a contemporary but interesting way. Everything has a fresh and clean feel. Our king size bed was unbelievably comfortable with a beautiful duvet and pillows, and was very much appreciated after a long haul flight. The hotel staff were polite and helpful and a joy to deal with. The hotel even provided a free shuttle service to the airport which made our trip to the airport effortless! One of the staff told us that it's an easy 20 minute ride to the airport and you never get caught in traffic jams because of the location. This was indeed our experience. The trip took pretty much 20 minutes to Terminal 3, which was very different to our previous experiences in getting to Changi in the past, especially from inner city hotels. When we booked this hotel, we didn't know if there would be any cafes or restaurants nearby, because of it's location, but we were spoiled for choice. The hotel is located just in front of a shopping mall, with a supermarket and pharmacy just behind it, not to mention a whole street of interesting looking restaurants and cafes when you step out of the mall and onto the road. We ended up having dinner at a little Indian restaurant that was located downstairs from the hotel lobby, in the shopping mall just before you step outside onto Marine Parade and it was lovely. All in all, we had a great stay. It was excellent value for money. We would highly recommend this hotel, especially if you need to easy access to the airport.
My first choice ever! When I feel the need to pamper myself and be away from home, Village Hotel Katong offers a perfect relaxing stay. The location is very convenient for everything that one needs, be it food (a well-stocked supermarket on ground level), entertainment (Golden Village cinema just a stone throw away @i12 shopping mall and recreation (the East Coast Park is within walking distance.
A Comfortable Stay (Worthy of repeat Patronage)”
This hotel offers excellent value for money and professional staff service. If your intentions were to explore the whole of Singapore, the lack of access to MRT in this area makes this hotel relatively inconvenient compared to its sister hotels in the city (eg. Village Bugis). This hotel is ideal for exploring east coast seaside and Katong for its rich Peranakan culture. NTUC Fairprice Finest (Supermarket) is conveniently located at the ground floor. The free hourly shuttle bus service to the airport is a nice touch and deeply appreciated. Pool and gym are small. Rooms are of good size by Singapore's standards. Water pressure is strong - making the shower a nice experience.
Dear KAH, We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience here with us and thank you for your 8.4 rating! We hope to see you again in the near future. Once again, thank you for a fabulous review and wishing you a pleasant week ahead. Your Sincerely, Zydney Joyce C Parsad Assistant Manager, Front Office Village Hotel Katong
It was an enjoyable staycation at Village Hotel Katong by Far East Hospitality, food and shopping is all within 5 mins walk, it's so convenient and accessible. Will definitely be back again!
Fast check-in service by friendly staff. Stayed in the club room on level 6. First reaction when entering the room was "wow". The peranakan decor and color simply took our breathe away. The cooling colors made us felt so cosy. We began taking pictures to use as reference for our new home coming soon. The bed is very comfortable. The hotel is situated within Katong V so ntuc supermarket is just below. When walk out of hotel, there are so many selections of food around. Very satisfied with this hotel. The best I like among the far east hotels so far...we will be back again.}
Length of stay: 3 nights. Size of room and cleanliness: Spacious room and very clean and the staff upgraded the room for us. Breakfast: Breakfast was nice and good of varieties. Overview: Everything was good recommend for whom would like to stay near east coast Park and Katong shopping centre. They also have shuttle bus service to move around in Katong area. Strength (selling point): Next to local restaurants and shopping centre. Weakness: None. Travel tip: None.
An Enjoyable Overnight Stay”
Stayed at the Village Hotel Katong for 1 night, on a transfer through to Bali. Arrived and was informed that our room was not ready and could we wait for a short while. No real issue, i thought. 5 mins later the lady at reception informs us she has upgraded our room for free due to the 5 min delay and room was now ready, which was great customer service and appreciated by us. Room was nice, clean, modern, with a comfy bed, balcony area, and a good bathroom with great rain-shower. We were only there for a few hours so really didnt experience much more than the room. The pool looked nice enough, but the gym was a little cramped and fusty smelling. The breakfast was not great though, with a few of the items of the buffet cold (which as we were early for breakfast was not expected). Free shuttle transfer to Changi airport which was great. Overall, a pleasant stay at a good price and good amenities, with great service and hospitality - just a shame about the breakfast.
Brand New Hotel in Katong”
When I arrived at the Singapore airport I went looking for the free shuttle bus but couldnt find it...I also couldnt find the number of the hotel through the website ..because the website is a group hotels arrangement...the taxi driver didnt know of the hotel...I walked around after he dropped me off at katong village shopping centre just a block away...theres no signs and was standing in front of the hotel but the back of it where on the map its looks to be on east coast road...more signs would be good..its just got a V on the building ,,,i knew it was new though..The room is all good.. big rain shower space and balcony and free mini bar...staff are friendly ...Katong is a nice area for food..and if you can figure out the free shuttle to and from the airport its a good deal though i paid about 13sd for taxi cheap. I would stay again if i was in transit again
Village Katong - An Excellent CBD Altarenative!”
Village Hotel Katong was a pleasant surprise. We stayed there primarily because it was convenient to our expat friends who lived nearby, but with a generous room on level five (they get a little smaller as they go higher, by virtue of the building design), there was plenty of space for the outlay. Public transport was an issue, if you're looking for that, but taxis anywhere seemed to be around the $10 - 15 mark. Additional inclusions on that floor, or with that deal, were great and included breakfast each day, access to the Lounge Bar each night with complimentary drinks, and the ability to have two items of clothing dry cleaned each day and a free mini bar of beer of softies, which wasn't really necessary for a weeks stay, but good to know it was there. The staff were all excellent and were really accommodating - All in all, a really great experience, and I would really recommend it to anyone who didn't want to stay right in the heart of the CBD.
