Perfect stay
I stayed at Hotel Viminale for a total of 3 nights in a single room. Having booked only hours before I was due to check in (and paying only $59 AUD for such a central hotel which also included breakfast) I did not have high expectations for the room. The room was perfect! Very simple but I had everything I needed. My room was on the top floor with a beautiful view of the city, and right next to the roof top terrace which is perfect to sit out on. Staff were not overly friendly but were not rude either. You will have to find your own room and get your bags there yourself but I did not consider this to be an issue. I was also given a map of the city upon check in. Certainly I'm not entirely sure that this is a 4 star hotel, but I definitely got good value for my money. I would certainly recommend this hotel to others (if you can book the room for a reasonable enough price)

4 Star breakfast
Great breakfast and good location but rooms a bit tired. The shower wouldn't drain and after complaining they advised they would have a look at it. It was slightly improved but we stayed on for the next two days standing in water, YUK. The staff never inquired if it was better and we decided against saying anything else. An immediate change of room would have been a better result.

Quite good
customer service, was better than in the pictures, location
The hotel is a little past its prime but I think it actually looks nicer in real life that in its pictures. The main thing we experienced was excellent customer service. We needed to organise a transfer and it was 11pm and they still organised it for 6am the next morning. Then at 6am we were waiting for the taxi and they offered us a breakfast box to take with us. They were nice touches that make your experience better. Everything else was acceptable given what we paid for it. Convenient location for main train/metro terminal and also tourist area

Booked Viminale Hotel, but stayed at Hotel Torino
Booked Viminale Hotel, but stayed at Hotel Torino, the location was the only good thing
Booked Viminale Hotel, but stayed at Hotel Torino......The first room we were given at Hotel Torino, the bed was broken. The guy at the front desk asked me if I could sleep in the bed. I repeated to him slowly that the bed was broken. I was upset because it was like he wanted to know if the bed was too broke to sleep on. Finally after a few minutes we were given keys to another room to check. That room seemed fine so we moved everything to that room. Well hours later when we tried to take our showers, we found out there was NO hot water. We were tired and waited to report the problem until the morning. The hot water in the sink took several minutes to get warm. We were told that it was because we were on the top and took time for the water to heat up. We were told to turn the hot water on and wait 10 minutes. To me, this is unacceptable and the problem should be resolved. The same food was offered for breakfast every morning, and needs improvement. I would NEVER stay at Hotl Torino, or book Viminale Hotel!

Excellent value & good location, perfect for us
price, location, service
The hotel is perfect if you are interested in value for money and enjoying Rome, rather than your hotel. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the hotel, it was very clean, well kept, the breakfast was good, staff were helpful/polite/friendly - it's just not for those who want luxury. Location was great, very close to the Termini train station for connections to both airports, and close to the Metro too.

Good location for travelers on a budget.
The location, the price, and the terraces.
The hotel is in an old former residence near the Termini station. It has 2 nice outdoor terraces on the 4th & 5th levels, over looking the surrounding neighborhood. A free breakfast was provided. It was a solid 3 star hotel. The pipes rattle when the air conditioning is on and the water pressure is nonexistent, at least on the 4th floor. The staff was helpful.
