Original but excellent”
I was not very keen to stay on a boat in Yangon but my wife and my son insisted as they said it will be cool. They were totally. I have been working in Myanmar for many years but never new about this hotel. if you are on leisure trip in Yangon, this place is perfect. Downtown, easy to go anywhere, the hotel is totally soundproof and you can't hear the noise from the boats around and the port. The room are very spacious and comfortable. There is a nice bar with pool table where you can relax. The staff (all) are very friendly and always ready to help you for whatever you might need. The place is very well maintain and very clean. In a few words, our trip to Yangon has been perfect with the stay in Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel. Will be back.

Thanks again and please include us in your travels list of Yangon again! Sincerely Yours, Kyaw Soe Oo(Mr.) Team Vintage
It was such an extraordinary experiences our stay at Vintage Yatch hotel in Yangon. From the three hotels that we have stayed in Yangon, this hotel fascinated us for its unique façade and facilities. It is really extraordinary not only for its façade and facilities but for also for the remarkable services rendered by its staff. A very notable services provided by their Front Office Duty Manager Aung Phone, Bell Service Lin Zinn, breakfast server Khant and car service driver AKA. Big thanks to all mentioned employees of this hotel. The façade is a modern five-deck yacht located near Botahtaung Pagoda anchored in the Yangon River. The proximity of the Vintage hotel to Yangon’s spectacular Shwedagon Pagoda, Bogyoke Aung San market and Sule Pagoda is just about 15 minutes by taxi. The hotel just opened in the summer of 2014, Room design is themed travel in the year 1920. I was fascinated with room facilities set-ups, all are unique and vintages. Breakfast is superb as they have sumptuous
Dear Ronaldo, Thanks for sharing your enjoyable stay experiences with us, definitely we will share your kind words to all of the colleagues what you had mentioned. Please include us in your next travel list of Yangon again. Yours Sincerely, Kyaw Soe Oo(Mr.) Team Vintage
An oasis of luxury in a container park”
We found the vintage luxury yacht hotel a very pleasant surprise. As some of the reviews compared it to the Titanic. I would compare it to the Overlook hotel in the Shinning, not because it was scary when we stayed but virtually empty with Christmas music being played all dsy. The rooms are spacious with all the amenities you need. The adjustable beds are great, if a bit like being in a luxurious hospital bed. We only had breakfast so can't comment on lunch or dinner in the restaurant. Breakfast was ok for a buffet breakfast, not the best or worst. The staff are very pleasant and try to accommodate your needs but a little overzealous with a few crossed wires, booking taxis etc. When you leave the hotel you are in a very smelly container/carpark, which when we were there had an insane night market. There was a huge stage with a mix of Asian pop and Bollywood, lots of food stalls and even on street tattooing. Not sure if this is always there but it certainly made the evenings entertaining. I was glad we stayed here as we had a very nice experience.
The Vintage does a wonderful job at immersing you in their Luxury Yacht theme. The experience starts the second you step out of the car and onto the luxurious walkway! The rooms are very comfortable and the entire hotel is very clean. Tons of options for breakfast, and the restaurants have a good mix of eastern and western selections. It was a bit difficult to locate at first, but if you tell a taxi driver to go to the Botahtaung Pagoda, the hotel is located on the same road next to the water. Very easy to walk into all the action of everyday life in downtown Yangon.
I was pleasantly surprised, I had a very good time”
The Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel is new, opened a month a go. It is clean and great value for a 5 star. Being that it is just starting out there are really good buys at this time. I was a little unsure of the condition and the location being it was my first time to Myanmar. It is a good location, and the staff did a fantastic job. Very friendly and professional. The wireless internet did not work well many times, the configuration was not done correctly. I needed to log on with different passwords because of this issue, and there were times the wireless routers or switches fought with each other and I would be dropped. The phone service in Myanmar needs work, so having an stable internet is very important so you can make the necessary calls. I recommend this hotel and would stay there with my wife. If you had small kids, this is not the right place being your one the water and it would not be safe enough for them to run around.
A Great Place”
Our four day stay at the Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel was outstanding. It was like going back in time to the 1920's Ocean Voyage where you are waited on hand and foot. The staff was extraordinary and was able to cater to our every wish. The bar on the 5th deck was very comfortable and friendly and we were treated very well. The 1920's decor complete with "Candle Stick" telephones on each room was great. When a problem arose in our checkout the Duty Manager stepped in and solved the problem without any stress. We will be going back
Dear Cameron Thank you for your lovely review about our hotel, we are delighted to read that we were able to fulfill your expectations and you liked our interior decoration. We are very pleased and will share your feedback with our staff to let them know, their services were appreciated. Thank you again and we hope we can welcome you anytime soon here on board. Sincerely Benjamin
I come to Yangon every couple of months or so and always stay at the Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel. It is a high quality hotel, with very attentive staff at a competitive price
A unique and cool experience”
The name of the hotel says it all, you will sleep on a vintage luxury yacht. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. But the hotel itself is what makes this place. Plenty of good photo ops for your Instagram page or Facebook profile. The location isn't bad either if you don't mind hiring a driver or getting a taxi. They might even offer shuttle service, I don't know. I just hired my own driver for the weekend. Easy. I'd definitely stay here again

excellent and special”
Only stayed for our last night in Yangon, shame, had we known about this special retreat, would have stayed previously. Takes one back to the days of luxury liners. Great breakfast and views. We asked for a river balcony room when booking and the Yacht suggested an extra 15$ for this, but we weren't asked for the extra money on check-in/ out. Beautiful interior including the theatre. Slightly expensive for drinks and food. Poor dinner service however, as the waiters aren't clearly trained so well. The rice came after everything else. Balconies don't have any seating, so pointless really, the rooms without balconies have great two windowed views. All staff very helpful. Located a few hundred yards from the Botahtaung Pagoda. Apart from that, you will need taxis to get around, but that is the same everywhere in the city.
Dear James, Thanks for sharing your enjoyable experiences and superb score for us. Yes, our River view rooms are always delighted by travelers, however, we are very glad to learn that you enjoy our services and facilities. Please include us again in your next travel list of Yangon. Yours Sincerely, Kyaw Soe Oo(Mr.) Team Vintage
Refuge Away From the City”
Location: Yangon's traffic now is like bangkok, so this place is way out of the jams and bustling city. Situated directly beside a highway, you can go to almost anywhere from there with just a taxi. Room: Quaint, vintage, cosy and gave me a river view. Extremely quiet and good for a good night's rest. If you want in house massage, remember to book in advance as their masseuse are quite limited. Facilities: Have pretty much everything a 5* hotel has. Love the fridge as it allows u to store any forms of wine and beer in it like a wine cellar. Just take note wifi is glitchy, makes more sense to get a prepaid card at only few USD for a few gb data. Price: Being a regular biz traveller to Yangon, I would say the price for this hotel matches even the better ones in the city. It's right out of the city beside the shipping port, so buy your own stuffs to have a chill night there.
Restaurant and hotel staff were very friendly, personable and efficient and conversed as we were friends. Felt at home here away from the noise and traffic craziness. Meal specials like Crumbed tiger prawns and Tiger prawn/pineapple curry were great. Slight musty smell in ship board cabins are part of being in a humid monsoonal climate on a river. I thank everyone at Vintage luxury yacht for an enjoyable stay. I would come again.
Excellent value for character place to stay in Yangon - recommended”
I love this boat hotel, on the river, now too far from central Yangon, rooms are nicely done, and the whole boat throughout has that vintage style. Quiet, great views of the river, and from the various decks. Staff are good and friendly, there is a regular free shuttle to centre of town or the main pagoda. You can walk there is 20 mins. Cab on Grab is just 1,800 plus 200k entry to area. Great value, and different place than most. Well worth staying.
A fantastic hotel for holiday”
I was really impressed when staying at Vintage Luxury Yacht hotel, you can feel the vintage style the moment when you walk into the hotel, every detail is carefully considered to match with vintage style. Staffs are extremely attentive and helpful. The sunset view from the hotel room is also beautiful. The only thing I think could be improved is to increase the dinning option. However, if you don't feel like eating in the hotel, there are many restaurants nearby that only takes about 10 minutes by taxi.
Great value for money”
My stay at the Vintage Luxury Yacht Hotel was an enjoyable one. The concept of the hotel is interesting, service was good, room was very comfotable and the breakfast was also delicious. Would highly recommend.
Excellent to the details”
A very unique hotel with meticulous vintage design details. The location is also unique near 1 of a main tourist attraction in Yangon namely Botahtaung Pagoda and a night market selling various local delicacies. The downside of the location is that you will be charged with the entrance fee of 200 Kyats as you are considered entering parking lot of botahtaung and night market. We tried to explain that we stay at the hotel but they still charged us with the entrance fee. Should you want to avoid the entrance fee, then you should detour.
Excellent Hotel, isolated location”
Vet nice rooms with the luxury yacht theme well done across the whole hotel. Attention to design detail and quality of fixtures and fittings is amazing. This is a brand new hotel and still has some staff training issues but overall everyone is helpful and wants to make your stay as nice as possible. Great breakfast, room service and evening dining options are limited and expensive by local standards but food is very good. The big problem with this hotel is the location, naturally it has to be on the river but it is in a area close to the pagoda and taxis will not come to the hotel as they have to pay a 200 K fee to pass the temple area. It can take the concierge a good half hour to cajole a taxi to come which can be very frustrating and once there the taxi will double his price for the journey. Once we got our own vehicle organised it was much easier. A great place to stay once you can sort out the issues such as transport and laundry costs which are 5 times the norm for other hotels. Trying to compete in the big league but not quite there.
Love the Vintage!”
The whole hotel is definitely a piece of vintage art. The attention to detail is worth all the bucks spent, just the food are kinda off to me. The hotel wouldn't be shaky or whatever cause you to throw up. However I do hope the Jacuzzi in the front deck is working, other wise the whole area was kinda wasted. It is a very good place for sunrise and sunset, when the sunlight shines on the Yangon river. If the windows are clean, it would be so much better for the views.
Dear Keng, Thanks for your valued time to write a review of your recent stay and excellent score for us. Yes, the Jacuzzi in the front deck is working. In addition, these are the right places to see the beauty of sunrise and sunset on Yangon River. For the food and window, we will more precise on. Please include us again for your next travel list of Yangon. Yours Sincerely, Kyaw Soe Oo(Mr.) Team Vintage
Unique and wonderful”
What a wonderful stay. Super friendly and helpful staff. The fixtures and fittings do what they say, and take you back to a yesteryear of grandeur on a luxury yacht, but with modern facilities. We spent our first two nights in a ‘city view’ room, which was lovely, but then decided to upgrade to a ricer view for out last night - this was even better! The room was basically the same ... but being able to look out at all the action going on on the river was awesome! We had a couple of minor maintenance issues, but these were seen to promptly and efficiently! And we even got upgraded when one issue (a plank coming loose) was going to take too long to fix. The upgrade was to a higher floor, and was wonderful - again all part of the awesome service. We ate at the restaurant twice for breakfast, once for lunch and once for dinner. Food was wonderful although a little pricey for Myanmar standards, but okay by western. My one negative was that everything is priced in US$. GREAT STAY!
Dear Susanne, Thanks for your valued time to share your recent stay experiences and excellent review that we have learned for our improvement, as well as we glad to know that our services and facilities are met with your expectation. Thanks again and please include us in your next travel list of Yangon! Sincerely Yours, Kyaw Soe Oo(Mr.) Team Vintage
Great ambience, not so great location”
My girlfriend and I had a great one night stay at this hotel. The taxi couldn't find it at first. I told him that it was at the Botahtaung Jetty, and we drove up next to the Botahtaung pagoda. It is just past it and to the left. But once we figured it out, check-in was great, which is on the bridge between the port and the boat. The attention to detail in terms of making it look like a vintage yacht was great. The beds were adjustable to many positions similar to hospitals which we really enjoyed. The view from our balcony faced the other side of the river, and thus there wasn't much to see. Breakfast on the top floor was good, though none were Burmese options. The location of the ship is far, so you need to take a taxi to get anywhere. But for our one night, it wasn't a problem.
Great Location on the River”
This hotel is tucked away by the side of the river behind the oldest pagoda in Yangon. It is probably the only hotel in Yangon that has fresh air and space around it - much welcome! It is lit up at night and very welcoming. The crew are curteous and friendly, and in particular the lady in the restaurant was extremely charming and helpful. The rooms are interesting with a unique (though perhaps unusual) design. All in all it is a very different and interesting experience. Try it and see!
