I don't remember exactly about the place since it has been a while, yet I definitely remember that this hostel had a really comfy bed and the reception was very kind. Not sure about whether it had a backpackers vibe or whatsoever. Will recommend to someone who want to have a quite nice stay.
This is only 5 minute walk to Ben Tahn market, and the backpackers walking Street, The hostel was nice and the beds were clean and comfy, bring flip flops for the shower though as it floods. I don't feel the backpackers thier are very clean asI felt there was constantly someone's piss on the toilet seat. The bathroom was the downside, but great location staff and very private sleeping bunk.
Budget-friendly for Backpackers”
Our stay was great! We booked for 2 nights. The staff where very accommodating and we like the bed is very comfortable. It is just located in the center. Few minutes walk going to the Sinh Tourist and other travel agencies. Also near in the PUB street. Had lots of hawker center and streetfoods to choose!
Great location with value for money hostel and private room”
Hi guys, I have been traveling to HCMC because the 1st Shopify meetup here. I was a lucky to find this hostel in the center for the city for the affordable price. The price for the private room is a quite reasonable. I have stayed there for 3 nights with my team mate.
Comfortable dorm and great location”
Love this dorm much , a great experienced for all to stay . The room is clean and you just have your own "nest" with comfort bed, and just few minutes walk to the Bui Vien Walking street. Will stay again if solo travel.
Best capsule hostel”
This might have been the best hostel I’ve stayed at. All amenities are very well-thought out. I stayed here for three nights. It was super quiet and comfortable! The bed and lockers are spacious! The staff are also very friendly and sweet - especially Vy, she’s great ! :) The only two things: keep tabs of your receipts (laundry, water, etc) and make sure to separate your whites for laundry. Other than this, I would highly recommend staying here. The rooftop is pretty amazing and free tea/coffee in the mornings.
Perfect for your first time in HCMC”
I ended up staying here for a week. The pod type beds were great (huge!) and you could get a good amount of privacy, although the blind is a bit see-through. I think for your first time in HCMC, this is the perfect location: away from the noise of Bui Vien but still super close, and also in easy walking distance of the city centre. I have to say after a week I got a bit tired of the area and ended up moving hostels, but I much preferred the peacefulness of Vy Da 2 in the end. Only thing to be aware of is that online it still says they offer breakfast which they don’t, but there’s plenty places nearby :)
Great central location and helpful staff”
The staff spoke good English and could answer many questions, including recommending an excellent and reasonably priced hair salon nearby. The rooms were clean, but smelled disturbingly of both mildew and off-gassing from new pressed wood bed structures. Toilets and showers were cleaned only once daily and there was never enough toilet paper.
I really liked how comfy the capsule beds were. The hostel is a 5 minute or so walk to the busy backpacker party street which was fun to explore at night. The free breakfast at the rooftop was simple but the coffee was super good.
We stayed in a dorm. It was very clean, as were the toilets. The beds were big too! The only thing that sucked was even though the ac was on all day and night, once you closed the screen to your bed it got so hot so I just left the screen open. Breakfast changes everyday but you only have one option. It's usually noodles and egg. The hostel is located close to Bui Vien (?) where all the bars and restaurants are but it's not on the street so it's quiet which is nice to sleep.
It’s awesome and impressive. ”
I would like to go stay for another night. I spent a great time with the hostel. The room was not that big but was totally enough for a solo traveler. It’s convenient about the location. After the one-day tour ,you can walk back to the hostel and you could also tried some local food just nearby there. Anyway it was nothing can be complained.
Awesome hostel - great location”
I had a super great time staying at Vy da 2. The bed is really comfortable and good enough for 2. There is privacy as it is like a capsule hostel, especially when you use the curtain/blind. The breakfast is simple but tasty, and the rooftop is really a nice place for breakfast or just chilling out.
Bad Experience From The Staff ”
I am not sure she owner or staff who is very rude.! Her attitude is Very bed. Treating to customer is like a wet market seller. Location and cleanliness is good. I had cancelled my second booking. Because of the staff. Asking me to cancel another my booking and telling me that she will give as a free cancellation. I stayed there one night there. I spoke to her on 18 March 2019 in the morning once i check out! It’s not suitable for family.
Go there for location, cleanliness and cheap Price, otherwise... staff tried to discourage us on renting motorbikes to go to our next destination and pushed a lot to sell us tours to go to only one of the few places we wanted to see, ended Up renting motorbikes and seeing all we wanted and more for i'm sure, maybe 2-3 times cheaper with the thrill of driving in Saigon. But we did booked the bus to another destination with them, we almost missed the bus due to the free pick-up arriving 20 minutes late, unable to have info were the bus station was kept saying the pick-up will be here un two minutes, if we had the adress of the bus station we would have been on time walking there by ourselves + the driver asked us to pay for the pick-up.. gladly I had the invoice saying free pickup...
Don’t bother saying here”
Pros: it was $6 Cons: the staff was unhelpful, from not being anywhere in the hostel at check in time, to offering us “ clean towels” that literally had dirty towels stacked on top of them, telling us we needed to come back in an hour at 1:56pm for our 2pm check in. The ac never worked, even after asking 4 people to help us fix it, so sleeping in a room with 8 other people in box like beds with no ac was a bit hot to say the least. And the bathrooms were always wet/covered in hair. Also looks like they only change the sheets. The inside of the box style bunks had feet marks on the ceiling, and who knows what else good on the walls. I would never stay here again.
When I arrived there were old sheets in my bed. They changed it for me and that was a project you could tell. Probably they don't change the sheets because it is to hard (bc of the bedtype) and takes like 5 minutes per bed. The day after they cleaned a bed and it took 1 min. Pretty sure the guest had to sleep in someone elses sheets. Nice :) The staff was not helpful at all. Service is a non-existing word here.
Great hostel great location”
The only downside with this hostel was the breakfast (a few pieces of fried egg and rice/noodles/pasta to that), so if you’re not inte that kind of breakfast my group I and dont reccomend to include the breakfast. But other than that there’s nothing to complain about!
Perfect for being in that crazy city”
The hostel was very good. I have had the best rest is all the hostels I have been so far in Asia. The cabin style dorms are very good as you feel you actually are in a private room. The mattress was very good and close to the walking street.
Wonderful place! Clean and tidy, the beds are super-comfortable and the blinds give you the privacy you need in a shared dorm. You can request your towel (daily) or your sheets changed (I asked them to be changed twice for the 6 days I was there). The location is awesome, close to everything touristy in District 1 and to the pub street (for the party animals). Great value four money, nice staff, I would definitely stay there again!
Dear Manager of Vy Da Backpackers Hostel 2 I am very happy and pleased to stay in your hostel for a few days. I would like to stay more for the following reasons: 1. The hostel is in the center and good price to stay. 2. The receptionists and housemaids are very friendly and nice. Especially, I would like to say thank you to Ms Thao Vi. She is a kind hearted girl and always willing to help me. I can see she has good behaviors and greets the guests at the door. She explains the services well and talks to the guests in a nice way. She is good at English, too. She is caring, sweet, polite, hard-working and tries to listen and understands my problems and is open to find the best solutions. I appreciate her attitudes and efforts. 3. The owner is kind and helpful. 4. The bed is comfortable enough to sleep in. I would like to stay here and I will introduce your hostel to my friends, Vietnamese and foreigners.
